Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a bus system using an IEEE 1394 bus (a bus compliant with the IEEE 1394 standard).
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, IEEE 1394 has become widespread as a serial interface capable of realizing a high data transfer rate, flexible cable connection such as node branching and daisy chain, and has been used in fields such as multimedia, storage products, information home appliances, and PC networks. The use is spreading.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
With the expansion of the field of use of IEEE 1394, connections exceeding the connection limit of 63 nodes are required. However, in IEEE 1394, since all connected devices are counted as nodes, it was not possible to realize connection of more than 63 devices.
[0004]
The present invention has been made in view of the above points, so that even when a system is constructed by connecting 64 or more devices using an IEEE 1394 bus, control can be performed so that 64 or more devices do not simultaneously become nodes. An object of the present invention is to provide a bus system capable of further expanding the field of use of IEEE1394.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The bus system of the present invention has a plurality of devices connected using an IEEE 1394 bus, and the plurality of devices become nodes when the node right is leased, and when the node right is not leased. In addition, it includes a device that performs only a packet repeat operation and does not become a node, that is, a device that becomes a node lease client.
[0006]
According to the present invention, even when a bus system is constructed by connecting 64 or more devices using the IEEE 1394 bus, an appropriate number of devices serving as node lease clients are used, and assignment of node rights to these devices is controlled. This makes it possible to control so that 64 or more devices do not become nodes at the same time.
