Method for programming a household appliance (1) with electronic control (2), of the type suitable for performing basic functions and additional sophisticated functions, where said basic functions are programmable by means of standard control means (3) included in said household appliance (1), characterized by the fact that the programming of the additional sophisticated functions, which by their nature tend to increase the management complexity for the user of the household appliance (1), is made simple through the mediation of a device external electronic, optional and dedicated (5; 9; 9A).
