Abstract
The simplified system comprises a sync. separator and gate which produces a gate signal for the burst and a switching signal to insert the teletext signal into the required line. A burst separator derived the colour sub-carrier sync. burst from the composite video signal. When data is received, this is transferred to a buffer and later transferred at generator frequency during the frame fly-back, filtered through a low pass and added to the original video signal in an adder. The output of the adder provides a complete video signal which contains the additional data corresponding to the pages of text in the Teletext system. When the information is to be reproduced in colour, the clock oscillator can be replaced by the existing colour sub-carrier oscillator and in the decoder the clock generator is no longer necessary.
