852,603. Air conditioning apparatus. CHIEREGATTI, L. July 16, 1958 [Aug. 23, 1957], No. 22824/58. Class 137 An induction type air conditioning apparatus comprises a primary air supply chamber 1 and a silencing and expansion chamber 3 of equal height and arranged coextensive and adjacent to one another in a horizontal plane in the lower part of the apparatus, the chamber 3 containing a number of longitudinally extending baffles 15 and communicating through nozzles 4 with a mixing chamber 5 centrally arranged above chambers 1 and 3 and containing a heat exchanger 6. The upper wall 16 of chamber 3 which is inclined at an angle of 5-15 degrees to the horizontal carries the heat exchanger 6 and injector nozzles 4 mounted perpendicular to the wall and also a sump 17. The heat exchanger 6 is less than 20 cms. in height and may be manually or thermostatically controlled. The primary air flow from chamber 1 is controlled by a valve 2 which is regulated by a remote control valve while the silencing labyrinth in chamber 3 comprises one horizontal and two vertical baffles to deflect the air twice through 90 degrees and twice through 180 degrees or three horizontal baffles which deflect the air through 180 degrees three times. The primary air passing through nozzles 4 induces air from the space into the apparatus through an inlet grill 12, filter 8 and heat exchanger 6, and the mixed air passes into the space through an outlet grill 13.
