Abstract
376,345. Adjusting wireless apparatus. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. -(Assignees of Carlson, W. L. ; Kings Highway, Haddonfield, New Jersey, U.S.A.) April 9, 1931, No. 10523. Convention date, April 10, 1930. [Class 37.] The tuning control shaft of a radio receiving apparatus is provided with adjustable means for locating it in a number of predetermined positions and with visual means operated simultaneously with the locating means for identifying the station &c. corresponding to the setting of the shaft. The shaft 7 of the tuning condensers 5 is operated by means of a lever 8, a connecting-link 16, and a lever 15 fixed to the shaft. The operating lever 8 is pivoted at 9 and has a pointer 13 moving over a scale 12. On the shaft 7 are mounted a number of discs 18 each having a notch 19, the discs being individually adjustable, set-screws 21 being tightened by means of a wrench 22 when the adjustment has been effected. A number of springs corresponding to the discs 18 are carried by an insulating bar 23, each spring being formed with a detent 20 adapted to engage the corresponding notch 19 and stop the shaft 7 in one of its predetermined positions. At the same time a contact 27 carried by the spring engages a fixed contact 28 and closes the circuit of a lamp which illuminates the corresponding window 24 provided with the call sign of the station to which the set is tuned.
