Linings and internal fittings.-A receptacle A, of circular or oval section, for volatile inhalants or smelling salts is provided with a diaphragm A<2> of plaster of Paris or like porous material through which the liquid diffuses. The diaphragm A<2> is supported upon a flange A<3> within the container and may be formed by pouring pasty plaster of Paris upon a cardboard disc supported on the flange after the insertion of the liquid. Alternatively the receptacle may be provided with a porous lining formed integrally with the diaphragm, the liquid being introduced into the space so formed either before completion of the diaphragm or by percolation through the latter. The receptacle is closed, when not in use, by a screw or friction cap B.
