Abstract

256,430. Hart, H. R. Oct. 6, 1925. Head sets. - Relates to aviators' helmets of the kind comprising an ear opening and means to secure a headphone within a recessed closure provided for the opening, the helmet being formed of pliable windproof material and having an inner lining of soft material; and consists in forming the inner lining with ear openings c<1> in register with but of less diameter than the ear openings b<1> formed in the wind-proof material, these -openings receiving a non-pliable cup d to house a headphone g, resilient cushioning material h being interposed between the headphone and the ear of the wearer. Preferably, sponge rubber f and a sound proof lining of zinc foil e is interposed between the headphone and the cup d, which may be of moulded leather. The cushioning material h may consist of several layers of chamois leather, the same material being used for the lining c.
