Abstract

A wing mirror assembly for a motor vehicle comprises two mirrors (M1, M2), one mirror (M1) being placed below another mirror (M2). The mirrors (M1, M2) are at an angle to each other such that the one mirror (M1) shows the blind spot of the other mirror (M2).

Description

Motor Vehicle Wing Mirror Without Blind Area Our vehicle's wing mirrors have"blind spot area", which usually can not be seen while the driver is sitting in a fix position without turning his or her head The object located in the"blind spot area"is usually close to us, it may be a vehicle which is over taking us and could be relatively dangerous if we make a turn or change lane without locating it.
This invention relates to a motor vehicle wing mirror which pictures the blind spot area. It functions as a"wing mirror without blind area"that could be mounted on every motor vehicle to help the driver to make a safe turn or change lane.
The main object of this invention is to picture the"blind spot area"of existing wing mirrors. The present invention is comprises of two different mirror, secured in a single mirror-adjusting plate in a way that the top mirror (a biconvex mirror) always pictures the blind spot area of the bottom mirror and performs as a warning mirror.
The new designed"wing mirror without blind spot area"is comprises of two different mirrors (mil) and (M2) in a manner that one (M2) has been placed on the top of the other (Ml) to picture the blind spot area.
Sitting in a fixed position, the driver would be able to observe the objects located in the blind spot area of one mirror in the other. In fact, the top mirror (M2) always pictures the blind spot area of the bottom mirror (Ml).
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to accompanying drawings in which : FIGURE 1 illustrates a plan showing the scope of the sight of an ordinary wing mirror.
FIGURE 2 shows how we can picture the blind spot area utilizing the new designed wing mirror.
FIGURE 3 shows how we can caught the vehicles located in the blind spot area with the new designed wing mirror.
FIGURES 4-6 show how the new proposed mirror is being designed.
Figure 1 illustrates the scope of the sight of an ordinary wing mirror as we see it pictures a limited area and can not picture the area known as blind spot area.
Figure 2 is a plan showing how we could increase the scope of the sight of the driver utilizing a twin mirror one (M2) placed on the top of the other (Ml) with a different angle. M2 pictures the area marked (shaded) which is known as"blind spot area".
Figure 3 illustrates the function of the new wing mirror. As shown in the figure vehicleno. 3, (V. 3), is being observed partly and vehicle No. 4, (V. 4), is being observed completely by the bottom mirror (Ml).
As shown in the figure vehicle No. 3, (V. 3), will soon leave this mirror (Ml) and promptly will be observed in the top mirror (M2). This mirror is also able to locate (V. 2 and V. 5) which are located in so called"blind spot area". Hence, in order to make a safe turn the driver has to first clear the top mirror (M2) and second clear the bottom mirror (Ml).
Figure 4 shows front view of the proposed mirror. The top mirror (M2) which is a bicot mirror is being placed on the top of the (mol) with a different angle, in a manner that (M2) always pictm Mind spot area of
(mil), both secured in a single mirror-adjusting plate (3). The mirror housing frame (5) incudes a signal light (4), the mounting body (6), and adjusting handle (7).
Figure 5 is the top view of the mirror housing (5) showing how the mirrors (Ml, M2) are secured in the mirroradjusting plate (3), the location of the signal light (4) and fog breaker light unit (10).
Figure 6 is a cross sectional view of the wing mirror (sec. AA). The figure shows how the two mirror (Ml), and (M2) are placed in the mirror-adjusting plate (3), an actuator housing (13), with a mirror actuator (8) fixed on a dish (9) which is secured to the mirror housing frame (5), a spring which fixes the mirror housing frame (5) to the mounting body (6) and a fog breaker light unit (IO) to be fixed on to it.
The invention is not limited to the embodiment described here above with reference to the figures, but comprises all kinds of modifications hereof, of course in so far as these fall within the protective scope of the following claims. In particular reference should be made to construction of a twin wing mirror either placed on top of each other or in side of each other.
