Abstract

A removable device which can be fitted to the existing tow bar (17) of a towing vehicle to enable a motorcycle (15) to be moved from one place to another. An adjustable side rail (14) is fitted to the side of device (6) to enable wheels of different widths to be accommodated. A cross member is also attached to allow the motorcycle to be tied down securely. <IMAGE>

Description

TOWING DEVICE This invention relates to towing a motorcycle.
Motorcycle trailers are well known vehicles which have runners onto which notoroycles are wheeled and then secured for the object oi transport.lng trom one destination to another.
Mot.orcycles trailers are relatively expensive and because ot their size most people don't have room to store them.
Relating to the present, invention there is a towing device mounted to the rear of a towing vehicle onto which a motorcycle front wheel is attached ior the purpose of towing motorcycle.
Details of the invention will now be described revering to the accompanying drawing.
Figure 1 shows the main towing device.
Figure 2 shows the adjustable width towing device.
Figure 3 shows tie down bar.
Figure 4 shows the device as attached to towing vehicle.
Referring to the drawing the device comprises a bracket (6) and tie down bar (11) attached to a towing vehiole (16) with the purpose of moving a solo motorcycle (15) from one place to another by means of its front wheel.
The device (6) is attached to the towing vehicle (16) by means of bolting to existing tow bar (17).
The front wheel of the motorcycle (15) is mounted in device (6) and secured by straps (18) thru eye bolts (10) over wheel.
Tie down bar (11) is attached to device (6) on mounting bracket (7) to enable motorcycle to be secured securely by means ci straps (18) to eye bolts (iO) on tie down bar (11).
In order to enable wheels ot various sizes to be accomadated in device (6) an adjustable side rail (14) is titled as in Fig '2 which is secured by cotter pins (.12) and B clips (13). A wheel support (8) is tilted as an integral part of the device.

Claims (3)

1 A detachable device is fitted to the existing tow bar ot a vehicle for the purpose ot towing a motorcycle. Secured by means ot bolts and straps.
2 An adjustable bar is fitted to the device described in Claim 1 to enable wheels of various widths to be accomadated.
3 A cross member is fitted to device claimed in Claim 1 & Claim 2, to allow the motorcycle to be secured firmly to the device claimed in Claim I andior Claim 2,
