Abstract

1534814 Colour television tubes TDK ELECTRONICS CO Ltd 27 April 1977 [5 July 1976 (2) 7 July 1976 (2)] 17627/77 Heading H1D A beam convergence unit for a shadow-mask colour television tube includes three pairs of magnet rings 5a and 5b, 6a and 6b, and 7a and 7b, of magnetic plastics material, having one, two, and three pairs of magnetic poles, respectively, all the pairs being rotatably mounted on a flanged, non-magnetic holder 1, and a rack 10 being formed in the material of each ring for engagement with a pinion 11. The rings may be made by inspection moulding a mixture of a plastics powder and a magnetic powder, and are separated by insulators 8 and 9 and held between the flange 1a and protrusions 4a formed on the elastic tongues 4 of the holder. The two rings of a pair may be either rotated as a unit in the same direction or, by rotation of the pinion, may be rotated in opposite directions.
