Abstract

1459633 Mixing apparatus; fluidising gas nozzle; nozzles AIR PROCESS AG 16 April 1974 [25 April 1973] 16614/74 Headings B1C, B1F and B2F A nozzle for injecting a substance into a fluidised bed on a porous support 2 in a vessel 1 comprises a holder 3, an injection tube 12, a casing 13 about the tube, the free end of the casing having an opening 15 communicating with an outlet 22 of the tube, and means such as a nut 24 for detachably securing the casing to the holder; a part 16 of the casing remote from the opening has a shoulder 17 cooperating with a cinaular opening 8 in the holder and at least one duct as 28, 28a connecting the space 36 outside the casing and the space between the casing and the tube. As shown the holder is an annular elevated portion 34 extending about the vertical axis of the vessel 1 and cooperating with a plurality of nozzles, gas being supplied to the chamber 36 and material to be injected to the tube(s) 12. The tube 12 is axially adjustable relative to the casing and may be secured by a screw 23. The open end of the casing may be detachable; the space between the vessel wall 1 and the porous support 2 is under pressure and may be in communication with the interior of the holder, see Fig. 1 (not shown).
