Abstract

1364535 Two-part couplings CANNON ELECTRIC (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd 13 Sept 1972 [13 Sept 1971] 42548/71 Heading H2E A connector socket body 2 has spring blade contacts 6 on one or both sides of a slot 3, designed to receive a mating connector 13 which may be of a type described in Specification 1,317,264 for termination of flexible flat strip cable, and is provided with locking means, typically consisting of cavities 11 approached through resilient slits 14 for receiving pins 12 on the mating connector. Resilience may be enhanced by cutting away areas 19. Snap lugs 16 permit panel mounting. A blade tool inserted in groove 10 can depress a spring tongue (9, Fig. 2, not shown) for contact removal rearwards. Asymmetrical grooves 20 may ensure unique mating orientation. Such grooves variously located may also provide selective mating between chosen members in a group of connectors.
