Abstract
1283221 Chance apparatus CONSOLIDATED COIN CO (IRELAND) Ltd 1 July 1969 67/69 Heading A6H [Also in Divisions G4 and G6] A gaming and vending apparatus comprises a plurality of switches 61, 62, 63, a plurality of banks of mutually electrically isolated conductors 67, 67a, 67b, each switch moving relative to the banks for a predetermined time under control of a timing means, and a dispenser 16 operable on closing an electrical circuit through the switches and conductors to dispense one or more articles. On insertion of a coin for gaming, contacts 7 and 190 are bridged, relays 80, 90, 100 energised, and stepper relays 18a, 18b, 18c (Figure 3, not shown) cause rotation of switches (wiper arms) 61, 62, 63 around lines 67, 67a, 67b. Relays 80, 90, 100 remain energised for 3, 4 and 5 seconds respectively then are deenergised. If a circuit is completed through lines 67, 67a, 67b, the game is won, relay 130 is energised, stepper relay 18d drives wiper 64, dispenser 16 vends an article for each line the wiper contacts until a circuit is completed via wiper 63 when it is de-energised (i.e. in the Figure, 3 articles are dispensed), the dispenser ceases and wiper 64 returns to its original position. If wiper 61 comes to rest on 65 (and the wipers are not in contact with each other), relays 120 and 180 are energised and coin pay unit 17 dispenses three coins. Each wiper is associated with a pantascope 69 (a series of flashing lights) which causes changing images during operation of the stepper relays. On insertion of a currency note for gaming (the note being valued at 4 coins) into acceptor 13, 220 and 221 are connected, relay 170 is energised and relays 80, 90, 100 are energised as for the coin. When 80 is deenergised, relays 120 and 180 are energised and 3 coins are payed out as change. The relay 110 prevents the dispenser operating while the game is in play. To buy an article with a note, switch 210 is depressed, 140 is energised, the note is inserted, and relays 170, 140, 150, 160 and 16 are energised. Capacitor 150a de-energises 150 and 160 after dispensation of one article. To buy with four coins, 210 is depressed, relays 140, 40, 50, 70 are energised, the first coin is inserted, relay 40 is de-energised, the second coin is inserted, relay 50 is de-energised, the third coin is inserted, relay 70 is deenergised, the fourth coin is inserted, relays 150, 160 are energised and dispenser 16 dispenses one article. An equivalent transistorised circuit may be used for the relays 18a to 18d, the wiper arms, the conductors 67-67b and the terminals 68-68b, the circuit incorporating a stable and bistable multivibrators. (Figure 5, not shown).
