Abstract

1281009 Two-part couplings JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 24 Oct 1969 [13 Dec 1968] 59424/68 Heading H2E A metallic electrical connector 11, such as a spigot or socket, is inserted into the bore (which may be square) of an insulating body 10 in the direction of contact. A projection 13, possibly annular, deflects at least one resilient tongue 16 of the body until it is past the tongue and engages with shoulders 15 formed in the bore of the body. The tongue then engages with the rearward part of the projection 13, so preventing withdrawal of the connector. Two such shoulders may be provided on opposite sides of the bore and two opposing tongues disposed on the other two sides.
