Abstract

The neck 9 of the inner shell of a double-shell container is tapered at 15 and its top 17 has a rim 19 overlapping the top 7 of the outer shell neck 8 so that as a plug 13, having a circumferential bevel 20, is screwed or pushed into the inner neck 9, the taper 15 is forced tightly against the inner surface 18 of the outer shell and the rim 19 is forced, by the bevel 20, to tightly engage the top 7 of the outer neck. A cap-seal 21 may be fitted over the closure to form a seal with the rim 19. The taper (15A), Fig. 3 (not shown), may be provided intermediate the ends of the inner neck. The plug may have a gasket (24A), Fig. 4 (not shown).
