Abstract

1,152,285. Cartridges for injection devices. BIO-NEERING Inc. 23 Oct., 1967 [17 May, 1967], No. 48096/67. Heading A5R. A cartridge, containing liquid medicament and for use in an injection device, comprises a rigid glass cylindrical body 10 having at one end an axially orientated dispensing neck 11 and at its other end a piston 17, the neck having a pierceable water-tight closure 15 capable of receiving a hypodermic cannula, the neck being joined to the wall of the cylindrical body by a lateral glass wall (13) which makes an angle B with the cylindrical wall of more than 75‹ and less than 90‹. As shown, the piston 17 and the closure 15 are or rubber material and the closure is secured to the neck of the cartridge by a metal cap 12. The cartridge can be fitted (Figure 3, not shown) into an injection device (29) which has a plunger member (21) for moving the piston 17 and which supports a hypodermic cannula (28) such that its end may be screwed through an aperture in the metal cap 12 and through the closure 15 into the liquid medicament. The liquid medicament may comprise doses of a vitamin or hormone composition suitable for injection into a plurality of animals.
