Abstract

1,057,645. Air-conditioning units. NORDISK VENTILATOR CO. A/S. April 7, 1964 [April 30, 1963], No. 14373/64. Heading F4V. A throttling device in an air-conditioning induction unit comprises a primary air supply pipe 9 and an adjustable plate 11 covering pipe apertures (10), Fig. 2 (not shown). The apertures (10) form an elongated narrow zone in the wall of pipe 9, and the plate 11 is more than 2-3 times as wide as the zone and the gap between the plate and the pipe is several times narrower than the zone. The pipe 9 extends the full length of an inlet chamber 1 and the ends of the plate 11 are embedded in sound-insulating material lining the walls of the chamber. The plate 11 is of the same radius as the pipe 9 and is arranged symmetrically with respect to the perforations (10). The position of the plate 11 is adjusted by a screw 16 projecting outside the chamber. The pipe 9 may be closed at one end or may serve to connect the unit in a series arrangement of units.
