Abstract

The stabilizer has a support (1) to be held by an operator, and a swivel part (2) carrying a film camera (4) and a balancing mass (4a) for balancing the center of gravity of the film camera. A body cooperates with a pivot of the support such that the body allows displacement of the swivel part independent of the support while damping sudden movements of the support. The support and the swivel part are linked by magnets carried by each of the support and the swivel part, where the polarities of the magnets in relation to screws on each side are the same.
