Abstract

  Document protectors are already known which are provided with opening rings allowing the retention of sleeves having a reinforced edge having holes for the passage of the opening rings.   In this latter type of document protector, the rings only cooperate with each other through the covers and pockets. These document protectors generally have 10 to 12 rings when the side which carries them to about thirty centimeters.

  The edges of the pockets having T-cutouts therefore have 10 or 12 cutouts regularly spaced on the edge 25 so that they can be fixed to the document protector. These pockets can therefore not be used with document protectors of the first type, that is to say of the type with opening rings which require holes. Indeed, the holes and the T-cutouts cannot coexist given the large number and the uniform spacing of the rings.

  The invention relates to a pocket which does not have this drawback and which can be used with document protectors of both types, that is to say of the type with mechanism for opening and closing the rings, and of the type with fixed or non-opening rings. .

  The invention also relates to a document protector of the type with fixed or non-opening rings which does not have this drawback either. In one embodiment, the rings, in the absence of pocket and cover, are free and separate. In another embodiment, the document protector can be handled, manufactured, sold, etc. without any pocket or cover.

  Thus, the invention relates to a pocket having, at a reinforced edge, T-shaped cutouts whose spacing is not uniform. It also relates to a document protector with fixed or non-opening rings whose spacing at the edge of the pockets is not uniform. It also relates to a pro10 document with fixed or non-opening rings in which the rings are held by a column which is integral with it and which rigidly determines the position and spacing of the rings.

  In a very advantageous embodiment of the invention, the positioning and spacing of the rings are such that the covers and pockets used can include, in addition to the T-cutouts, holes allowing their use both with protectors documents with opening rings only with document protectors of the type according to the invention.

  The invention also relates to a document protector with interchangeable sleeves, of the type which comprises sleeves having a reinforced edge intended to be close to the pivot axis, the reinforced edges of the sleeves and the edges of any covers having cut-outs T, the bar of which is parallel to the pivot axis and the rod opens out towards the pivot axis, and the rings aligned on a pivot axis, the rings having a thin outer part of section which is practically complementary to the bar a T cut; according to the invention, at least one pocket has T-shaped cutouts whose spacing is not uniform, so that the spacing of the rings is also not uniform.

  Preferably, no ring is arranged at a location which corresponds to the standard position of circular or elongated holes of a document-protection mechanism of the conventional system with opening rings.

  In examples, the distance between two adjacent rings (14) is either about 2.5 cm, or about 5 cm, or is equal to about 3 cm, or about 6 cm.

  The invention also relates to a document cover with interchangeable pockets, of the type which comprises rings 30 aligned on a pivot axis, the rings having a thin outer part, the pockets having a reinforced edge intended to be close to the axis of pivoting, the reinforced edges of the pockets and the edges of any covers having T-shaped cutouts, the bar of which is parallel to the pivoting axis and the rod opens out towards the pivoting axis; according to the invention, the rings are integral with a column arranged over the greater part at least of the length along the pivot axis.

  Preferably, the column is flat and extends a certain distance outside the rings.

  Preferably, the spacing of the rings is such that no ring occupies a location which corresponds to the standard position of circular holes of a conventional system with opening rings. Thus, the rings have a non-uniform spacing.

  A pocket according to the invention comprises T-shaped cutouts.   The edge of the pocket also has holes 26 of standardized spacing allowing the use of the pocket 12 in document protectors of the type with opening rings.

  In another example, FIG. 4 indicates that pouches 30 according to the invention have T-shaped cutouts at one edge, and circular and elongated holes 32 and 34 of standardized spacing also allowing the use of pouch 30 in covers - documents of the type with opening rings.

  Note that in the two pocket examples 12 and 30, the spacing of the T-shaped cutouts is not uniform.

  In the embodiment of FIG. 1, the distance separating the centers of two adjacent T-shaped cuts is equal to either about 3 cm, or about 6 cm. In the embodiment of Figure 4, the distance between the centers of two adjacent T-shaped cuts is either about 2.5 cm or about 5 cm.

  This lack of uniformity in the spacing of the T-shaped cutouts is intended to allow the formation of circular or elongated holes 30, allowing the use of the pocket in document protectors of the type with opening rings, while retaining good resistance. mechanical pocket and document protector.

  We now consider a first embodiment 35 of the invention, with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3.

  The document protector 10 comprises a column 11 and covers and pockets designated by the reference 12.

  The column 11 comprises rings 14, seven in number in the example of FIG. 1, integral with a plate 16. Each ring is completely closed circumferentially, and it has a width, in the direction parallel to the axis of 5 pivoting, which is of the order of 10 to 15 mm and a diameter of the order of 20 mm. The rings are in one piece with the plate 16, so that they are held rigidly. The plate 16 has an enlarged portion 18 intended for the provision of a label holder 19. The column 11, with its rings 14, 10 already constitutes in itself a document protector devoid of any pocket or cover. It can be used without cover, only with pockets. It can also be used with one or more covers, like conventional document protectors of the type with non-opening rings. In the embodiment of Figure 1, it is noted that the rings 14 are not uniformly spaced. More specifically, the column 11 comprises two groups of three rings regularly spaced towards each end and an additional ring in the middle position. This arrangement allows the formation at the edge of the pockets not only of T-shaped cutouts, but also of holes, as indicated above, while retaining good mechanical strength.

  Although a document guard 10 has been shown which allows the retention of pockets having both the T-cut fastening system and the hole fastening system, in one embodiment, the document guard can include any number of rings, regularly or not spaced, intended to cooperate with pockets having only T-shaped cuts whose number and position 30 correspond to those of the rings.

  The document protector of this first embodiment therefore consists of practically a single piece formed by the column having the plate and the rings. This part can advantageously be formed by injection molding of plastic material of the commonly used type. Indeed, the column is placed over the entire length of the document protector and allows the plastic material to be brought to the level of all the rings which can therefore be molded without significant technical problem.

  In a variant, the column can be extended, beyond the dimension of the pockets and covers, if any, 12, to form two extensions intended to hang on rails when the document protector is to be suspended. The label holders 19 are particularly advantageous, in the case of a hanging file drawer, because the label holder of each file appears easily, the files being separated by a space corresponding to the outside diameter of the rings 14.

  Although a flat column has been shown which extends substantially from the center of the rings to the outside thereof, it is possible to form the column with a part inside the rings only, or at the outside of the rings only, or even practically only in the extension of the rings, if the necessary robustness is obtained.

  We now consider a second embodiment 20 of the invention, with reference to FIG. 4.

  In this embodiment, the pockets 30 (and any covers, not shown) are held by separate rings 36, of the type already used in document protectors with regularly spaced rings, for example 25 of 2.5 or 3 cm . Each ring has a continuous annular part and preferably a central cheek which closes the entire section of the ring, for reasons of mechanical resistance.

  Unlike the known document protectors, the document protector of FIG. 4 has only a reduced number of rings, compared to a conventional document protector with regularly spaced rings, so that the remaining rings have a non-uniform spacing.

  It is for example possible to produce a document protector according to the invention from a document protector of a known type, for example with twelve rings, by removing four of the twelve rings and inserting at least one pocket according to the invention, having, in addition to the T-shaped cutouts, circular and elongated holes 32 and 34 at the standardized locations for document protectors with opening rings. It is obviously possible to mix pouches according to the invention and conventional pouches without holes.

  The document protector according to the second embodiment has the advantage of being able to be produced with existing elements, familiar to potential users.

  However, it can also include specific elements, for example as shown in FIG. 5.

  FIG. 5 represents a variant of ring 38, the two end faces 40 of which have a lip 42 similar to that of the conventional rings shown in FIG. 4.

  However, these two faces are separated by a cylindrical body 44.

  The T-slots intended for such rings therefore have an increased dimension parallel to the edge of the corresponding pocket.

  The body 44 may be in one piece with the ends 40, or, on the contrary, the assembly of the ring 38 20 may be formed of two rings as shown in FIG. 4 and between which is disposed a cylindrical body which can form a small container.

  Of course, various modifications can be made by those skilled in the art to the sleeves and protects documents which have just been described by way of non-limiting example without departing from the scope of the invention.
