Abstract

The invention relates to a method which makes it possible to trigger the recording, by a video recorder, of a televised programme sequence chosen in advance, at the precise instant when it starts, then the stopping of the recording at the precise instant of the end of the sequence. One of the devices implementing the method consists of a box (20) fitted with two levers (4) and (7) which rest on the start-recording (5) and stop (6) keys of the remote controller (3) of the video recorder and the actuation of which is controlled by means of coded signals, carried either by the telephone network, or by the cabled-television network, or by radio waves. The method can also be applied to the control of television sets, tape recorders and radio broadcast receivers.
