The present invention therefore aims to achieve an electrical stimulation device capable of promoting lymphatic drainage.
According to Figure 1, the device comprises a housing 1 provided with a control and programming console 2, as well as a front face 3 on which is drawn in particular the silhouette 4 of a human being having marks 41 of stimulation points.
The electrical pulses produced by the device are available on two series 51, 52 of six electrodes 5 intended to be applied at particular stimulation points of the human body, in order to produce the electrical treatment.
The circuit of each electrode 5 includes a potentiometer 6 intended to regulate the voltage of the pulses supplied to each of them.
An indication of the voltage level is visible on the front face 3 of the device by two graph bars 7 as well as by the reference points 41 constituted by indicator lights and provided on the silhouette 4.
The frequency of the stimulation pulses can be adjusted by a central potentiometer 8 between 20 and 100 Hertz
A sensor 9 is intended to be applied to the patient's body, for example at the end of a finger or on the ear lobe; in order to take the heart rate which is displayed every minute on the display 10.
The console 2 of the apparatus also includes a keyboard with keys 11 which makes it possible to program the various parameters of the treatment, which are displayed by the displays 12.
This keyboard will allow you to set the working time and the rest time from 1 to 99 seconds, as well as the processing time from 1 to 99 minutes.
According to the invention, it is thus planned to produce by the apparatus of FIG. 1, pulses 12 whose period is adjustable between 10 milliseconds and 50 milliseconds, these pulses having the form of voltage peaks with a stiff upstream flank, these 12 pulses (see Figure 5) being produced in the form of pulse trains 13 of 250 milliseconds, which are synchronous with the beats 14 of the patient's heart rate 15.
In addition, the apparatus according to the invention produces these pulse trains 13 (see FIG. 5) during adjustable working times 16 which are separated from each other by rest times 17. To result in this result, the apparatus of the invention comprises a microprocessor 18 which is connected to the sensor 9 via a stage 19 ensuring the amplification and the shaping of the electrical pulses collected by the sensor 9. This sensor will , preferably an infrared sensor.
Also, the microprocessor 18 is connected to a stage 20 which determines the time bases for counting the pulses and for determining the working time, the rest time and the duration of treatment.
The management of the display of the pulse information and of the different time values is ensured by stage 21, while the control of the pulse trains 13, the duration of which is 250 milliseconds, is synchronous with systoles, is determined by floor 22.
The device also includes a stage 23 which ensures control of the cessation of treatment if the heart rate is not between certain values and, for example, 50 and 130 pulses per minute.
Two comparators 24 are also connected to the microprocessor 18 in order to detect the position of the potentiometers 6 for adjusting the level for each of the channels.
The generation part of the pulse trains is shown in Figure 3.
It can thus be seen that this circuit comprises an oscillator 25 whose frequency is adjustable by potentiometer 8 and which generates signals in the form of sawtooths in a frequency band between 20 and 100 Hertz.
This oscillator is connected to stage 23 which prohibits its operation in the event that this stage 23 notes a cardiac anomaly.
The sawtooth pulses from the oscillator 25 are brought to the input of an amplifier 26 and then to the input of a transformer 27 which has two symmetrical secondary windings. Each secondary is connected to six parallel circuits each comprising an electrode 5 and its adjustment potentiometer 6.
By this construction, a symmetrical distribution is organized towards the two series of electrodes each assigned to one of the ribs of the patient's body during treatment.
The referral stage 28 which is also under the control of stage 23, is associated with two series of six relays 29 in order to allow simultaneous stimulation by the left and by the right channel, at the rate of the slots 29 which are each 250 milliseconds in duration and which control the pulse trains.
Depending on the programming adopted, it will thus be possible to produce the pulses on one of the determined electrodes applied to the left side of the patient as well as on a determined electrode on the right side of this same patient.
The voltage level of these pulses is adjusted by the double potentiometers 6 which supply the comparators 30 via diode stages connected to the microprocessor.
Thus, these comparators do not authorize the programming of the device unless all the potentiometers 6 are at their minimum. This arrangement constitutes a safety which, after any interruption of treatment, obliges the operator to bring all the potentiometers 6 to zero before starting a new treatment.
