Abstract

The system consists of a coaxial cable either looped or terminated in a characteristic impedance. Stations are linked to the coaxial cable by couplers with selection by a control station. Coaxial cable permits large bandwidth, high frequency signals modulated by frequency division multiplex. Separate channels control calls and form selected interstation channels. Alternatives described are pulse codes, for each station, amplitude modulated by speech, and time division multiplex after conversion of analogue speech to digital signals.
