Description

Domaine technique de l'inventionTechnical field of the invention

The invention relates to a tweezers having two branches joined at one end, a second end of each branch comprising a gripping element, said gripping element of each branch being mounted to freely rotate about a pivot axis to the second end of said branch.

État de la techniqueState of the art

The tweezers are intended for the handling of fragile objects. They have application in microelectronics where they serve as a tool for gripping and handling microelectronic components such as chips. In this type of use it is necessary to avoid any risk of degradation of the edges and the upper active face of the chip on which we can find a circuitry with low relief, for example as on CMOS chips or infrared detectors, or strong relief , for example as chips with dies of balls.

The tweezers commonly used comprise, as illustrated in FIG. figure 1 , two branches 1a and 1b joined at a first end 2. A second end 3 of each branch 1a and 1b comprises a gripping element 4 for gripping a microelectronic component. The gripping element 4 is in the extension of the branches. Handling microelectronic components with such tweezers Vigilance and dexterity important to the operators. Indeed, depending on the environment where a pair of tweezers is used, the operator may have only a small range of motion. Some positions are more comfortable for left-handed operators and others for right-handed operators.

In order to facilitate the handling of microelectronic components, there are tweezers of the company Ideal-Tek, a model of tweezers tweezers comprises gripping elements 4, as on the figure 1 in the form of removable and interchangeable tips. The tips have different shapes, allowing to adapt according to the use. However, this requires disassembling each time the clamp to select the right tip. In addition, during handling, if the environment changes, it is impossible to do the same with the clamp.

The document WO91 / 19291 discloses a CD-ROM gripper with two arms and rotatably mounted legs for gripping a CD-ROM at its central hole.

The document GB769,917 discloses a clamp with interchangeable gripping elements attached to the clamp arms by screws for adjusting the angle of the gripping members relative to the arms.

The document JP2005342840 discloses a clamp provided at each free end with grippers mounted rotatably. The rotation of the gripping elements is constrained by several fixed positions that can be occupied by the gripping elements.

Objet de l'inventionObject of the invention

The object of the invention is to provide an easy tweezers tweezers do not have the disadvantages of the prior art.

Ce but est atteint en ce que l'élément de préhension de chaque branche comporte un axe longitudinal perpendiculaire à l'axe de pivotement correspondant, et en ce qu'un patin est fixé à une extrémité libre dudit élément de préhension et disposé perpendiculairement audit axe longitudinal de l'élément de préhensionThis object is achieved in that the gripping element of each branch comprises a longitudinal axis perpendicular to the corresponding pivot axis, and in that a shoe is fixed to a free end of said gripping element and arranged perpendicularly to said axis. longitudinal section of the gripping element

Description de modes préférentiels de réalisationDescription of preferred embodiments

As illustrated by figure 2 , the tweezers tweezers comprises two branches 1a and 1b joined at a first end 2. A second end 3 of each branch 1a and 1b comprises a gripping element 4 mounted to rotate freely about a pivot axis A1 at the second end of the corresponding branch 1a or 1b. The pivot axis A1 is preferably perpendicular to a longitudinal axis A2 of the branch.

The branches 1a and 1b have a given elasticity allowing the gripping means to be separated by a maximum distance Dmax when no stress is applied to the branches 1a and 1b. Thus, the gripping elements 4 facing each other, an operator can, by exerting sufficient pressure on the branches, bring them closer to capture a chip. After having picked up the chip and moved it, the operator can release its pressure, the tweezers then resumes its original shape while releasing the chip.

Comme illustré à la figure 2, l'élément de préhension de chaque branche comporte, de préférence, un axe longitudinal A3 perpendiculaire à l'axe de pivotement A1 correspondant, et un patin 5 est, de préférence, fixé à une extrémité libre 6 de l'élément de préhension 4 perpendiculairement à l'axe longitudinal A3 de l'élément de préhension 4.As illustrated in figure 2 , the gripping element of each branch preferably comprises a longitudinal axis A3 perpendicular to the corresponding pivot axis A1, and a pad 5 is preferably attached to a free end 6 of the gripping element 4 perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A3 of the gripping element 4.

Preferably, the gripping elements 4 and / or the pads 5 are removable, thus making it possible to adapt to the type of component to be displaced, for example defined by its dimensions. Each gripping element 4 can be connected respectively to the second end 3 of a corresponding branch 1a by any means allowing its free rotation about the pivot axis A1, itself perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A2 of the branch 1a . By way of example, each branch 1a, 1b and the corresponding gripping element 4 comprise a through-hole located at the second end for the branch and at a connecting end 7 for the gripping element 4. A branch and a gripping member is connected through a bolt inserted in their respective holes and a locknut screwed onto the thread of the bolt to provide the connection.

As illustrated in Figures 2 and 3 the pads 5 may be in the form of parallelepiped bars and are made of non-injurious materials, preferably plastic, for the component to handle. As for example, the pads 5 may be made of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), polystyrene, polypropylene preferably loaded with carbon to avoid generating electrostatic charges that may damage the component to move. Preferably, each pad 5 is rotatable along the longitudinal axis A3 of the corresponding gripping element 4. Thus, the shoe 5 can be secured to a rod 8 perpendicular to said shoe 5, and the gripping element 4 may comprise a cavity of corresponding shape to the rod 8 and whose axis is parallel to the longitudinal axis A3 of the gripping element 4. Once inserted into the cavity, the rod 8 can then be locked by a screw screwed into a threaded hole 9 opening into the cavity, preferably perpendicular to the latter. The pressure provided by the screw on the rod 8 in the cavity is then sufficient to ensure the blocking. The mounting of the pad then makes it possible to adjust its angle with respect to the plane comprising the branch 1a and the gripping element 4 of the tweezers.

The connecting end 7 of each gripping element preferably has a rounded shape. This rounded shape prevents tweezers from getting stuck, especially when handled in a case. It also allows free rotation of the branches.

According to an improvement, the tweezers comprise means for locking the distance separating the gripping elements 4. Thus, when an operator grasps a component, he can lock the clamping of the clamp and move the component without risk of making it fall. in the event that he inadvertently releases the pressure exerted by his fingers on the branches 1a and 1b. The locking means may be in the form of an operating device using the principle of a retractable ball-type system. Classically, they are two coaxial bodies. A body corresponds to a cap free in translation in a main body having a bore for receiving the cap and a locking mechanism of the cap to block its translation (not shown). Pressure on the cap slides it into the main body until the stroke of the cap reaches a predetermined threshold and triggers the mechanism locking said cap in the retracted position in the main body. In the retracted position, the pressure can be released, the cap then remains in this position. A new pressure on the mechanism allows to unlock the cap which then becomes free in translation in the main body. This type of maneuvering device is commonly used in the field of ball pens. As illustrated by figure 5 , the end of the main body 16 opposite the cap 15 is integral with one of the branches (1a on the figure 5 ) of the tweezers and the free end of the cap 15 is integral with the arm (1b in the opposite figure). Thus, in the retracted position, the distance between the two pads is fixed to move effortlessly a component of predetermined size, clamped between the pads.

In another example, illustrated at figure 4 the locking means are in the form of a simple sliding ring. The two branches 1a and 1b of the tweezers are threaded into the ring 10, and when the ring 10 slides towards the gripping elements 4, the latter begins to rub on the outer faces 11 of the branches 1a and 1b. Indeed, the more the ring 10 approaches the gripping elements 4 plus the friction increases, thus reducing the distance separating the two gripping elements 4 and, where appropriate, the pads 5.

The use of gripping means 4 equipped with pads 5, free in rotation with respect to the pivot axis A1, makes it possible to keep the pads always parallel to the plane of a horizontal bench and therefore to the edges of the microelectronic component to be handled. on the bench. In addition, thanks to the pivot connection between the branches and the gripping elements, it is possible to take a chip in a housing or in a environment where the vertical position of the arms is not possible. This advantageous configuration is due to the gravity and the sufficient weight of the gripping elements. The weight of the gripping elements 4 must be sufficient to make negligible the friction forces at the connection branch / gripping element to allow free rotation of the gripping elements 4 around the axis A1. The minimum weight of a gripping member is preferably at least 8 grams.

Preferably, the branches and the gripping elements are made of an easily machinable material such as aluminum.

According to an improvement, the end of each branch intended to receive a gripping element comprises a recess 13 on an inner face 12 of the branch 1a. The gripping element 4 is then coupled to the branch 1a on the side of the recess 13 and its thickness is preferably equal to the thickness of the recess 13. Thus, during the handling of the tweezers, the gripping elements 4 come , according to the angle of the branches relative to the horizontal, abutting a wall 14 delimiting the depth of the recess 13.
