Description

L'invention concerne un terminal de radiocommunication. The invention relates to a radiocommunication terminal.

By radio telecommunications terminal is meant more precisely but not limited to the terminals of wireless telephones and mobile terminals of the GSM type.

The invention applies more particularly to small radio communication terminals for which it is difficult to reproduce the word-of-mouth distance of the user, required to obtain good exploitation of the audio part of the terminal.

Usually, the radiocommunication terminals comprise a box having a front face, a rear face and a base. The front panel generally comprises a keyboard, a screen, an input opening constituting an input interface with a microphone and an output opening constituting an output interface with a headset. The microphone and the earphone are mounted in the housing, the microphone inlet and the earphone outlet being oriented respectively towards the inlet opening and the outlet opening.

One solution to the problem mentioned above consists in adding in the terminal a part making it possible to deploy the microphone so that the distance between the microphone and the earpiece of the terminal corresponds substantially to the word-of-mouth distance of the user.

In document EP 0 651 546, this part is in the form of a hinged flap at the base of the housing, which, in the use position, extends the terminal. This flap contains the microphone and has an entry opening on the face corresponding to the front face of the housing.

This document also describes another solution according to which the flap is replaced by a shorter orientable part.

However, these solutions require the addition of an additional mechanical part to the terminal with mechanical connection means, which increases the volume and the cost of the terminal.

In addition, the mechanical connection means have a limited lifespan and have, like all mechanical equipment, very relative reliability.

L'invention vise donc à palier ces inconvénients. The invention therefore aims to overcome these drawbacks.

The subject of the invention is a telephone terminal whose structure makes it possible to respect the required distance between the mouth and the ear of the user, so as to obtain good exploitation of the audio part of the station, and without adding any element. additional mechanical on the terminal.

The invention further relates to a radiocommunication terminal whose cost and volume are reduced.

To this end and according to a first aspect, the invention provides a radiocommunication terminal, comprising a housing having a front face, a rear face and a base, the terminal further comprising a microphone and an earpiece mounted in the housing, and at at least one entry opening constituting an entry interface with the microphone and at least one exit opening constituting an exit interface with the earphone, characterized in that the entry opening is on said rear face.

Thus, in the normal position of use, that is to say when the user is in communication and holds his terminal in the hand, the entry opening constituting the entry interface with the microphone is on the palm side. by hand, so that an acoustic waveguide is formed by the rear face of the housing, on the one hand, and the cavity formed between the terminal and the palm of the hand on the other hand.

Consequently, the word-of-mouth distance of the user is reproduced, so that good exploitation of the audio part is obtained, increasing the volume and the cost of the terminal or reducing its reliability.

In addition, in the hands-free position, that is to say when the terminal is placed for example on a table, the latter also makes it possible to form an acoustic waveguide, so that the sound transmission is also good in this position.

According to an embodiment making it possible to move the microphone as far as possible from the earpiece, the microphone is mounted near a border area between the base and the rear face of the housing.

In addition, to further improve the guidance of the user's speech, a recess is provided in the border area.

This recess may have a rounded shape formed on a part of said border area, extending substantially at the center of the border area.

According to another embodiment, the recess has a bevel shape.

In order not to have to modify the position of the microphone in the already existing terminals for which the microphone is usually oriented towards the front face of the housing, the terminal further comprises an acoustic waveguide primer formed in the housing, near the microphone and whose input is oriented towards the microphone and whose output is oriented towards the inlet opening constituting the input interface with the microphone.

According to a second aspect, the invention provides a hands-free device comprising a terminal according to the invention, characterized in that it further comprises a means forming a wall separate from the terminal, making it possible to create, with the rear face of the housing of the terminal, an acoustic wave guide making it possible to guide the speech emitted by a user towards the entry opening constituting the entry interface with the microphone.

According to one embodiment, the wall-forming means consists of the element against which the rear face of the housing is applied.

According to a third aspect, the invention proposes a means forming an acoustic waveguide intended for use with a terminal according to the invention, having a shape such that it creates, with the rear face of the terminal housing, a guide acoustic waves for guiding speech emitted by a user to the entry opening constituting the entry interface with the microphone.

The invention will be better understood in the description which follows of embodiments given solely by way of example, with reference to the appended figures.

Figure 7 is a schematic perspective representation, front side view of an embodiment of a hands-free device according to the invention.

The terminal 1 is intended to be used either in the so-called normal position, where it is in the user's hand, or in the hands-free position.

It comprises a housing 2 having a front face 3, a rear face 4, a base 5 and side edges 6.

On the front face 3 are mounted in particular a screen 7 and a keyboard 8 with keys 9. The front face 3 further comprises an outlet opening 10 which constitutes an interface with a listener (not shown) mounted in the housing 2. As this is known to a person skilled in the art, the interface with the earpiece can consist of several outlet openings 10.

Là encore, l'interface d'entrée peut être constituée de plusieurs ouvertures d'entrée 11.The terminal 1 further comprises an input opening 11 constituting an input interface with a microphone (not shown) also mounted in the housing 2. Here again, the input interface can consist of several openings entry 11.

Selon l'invention, l'ouverture d'entrée 11 est ménagée sur la face arrière 4 du boîtier 2 du terminal 1.According to the invention, the inlet opening 11 is formed on the rear face 4 of the housing 2 of the terminal 1.

Thus, in the normal position of use, the speech emitted by the user is guided towards the inlet opening 11 by means of an acoustic wave guide 12, shown in dotted lines in FIG. 1, which is formed by the rear face 4 of the housing 2, on the one hand, and by the cavity created between the terminal and the palm of the hand 13 of the user, on the other hand. This waveguide 12 makes it possible to reproduce the word-of-mouth distance of the user, required to have good exploitation of the audio part of the terminal 1, and this more particularly for small terminals.

However, this structure can also be applied to larger terminals for which the distance between inlet opening and outlet opening already corresponds substantially to the mouth-to-ear distance of the user. It has the advantage, in this case, of being able to benefit from additional space on the front face compared to the terminals of the prior art, since it is no longer necessary to provide there a specific space for the entrance opening.

The waveguide 12 is also present when the terminal 1 is in the hands-free position. In this case, it is formed by the rear face 4 of the housing 2, on the one hand, and the cavity created between the terminal and the wall against which the rear face 4 is applied, on the other hand. This wall can be constituted by a table plan, the edge of a wall if the terminal is in a vertical position, or the like.

D'autre part, compte tenu de la forme de la main de l'utilisateur, l'ouverture d'entrée 11 est de préférence centrée par rapport aux bords latéraux 6 du boîtier 2.Preferably, the inlet opening 11 is located near a border area 14 between the rear face 4 and the base 5 of the housing 2 so that its distance from the earpiece is as large as possible. On the other hand, taking into account the shape of the user's hand, the inlet opening 11 is preferably centered relative to the lateral edges 6 of the housing 2.

De préférence, le creux 15 s'étend sensiblement au centre de la zone frontalière 14.According to a first embodiment, as shown in Figures 3 and 4, the recess is a recess 15 having a rounded shape and formed on a part of said border area 14. Preferably, the recess 15 extends substantially in the center of the border area 14.

According to a second embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the recess has the shape of a bevel 16.

Of course, the scope of the present invention is not limited to the details of the above embodiments considered by way of example, but on the contrary extends to modifications within the reach of ordinary skill in the art.

In addition, so as not to have to modify the location of the microphone in current terminals, the terminal 1 may include a primer for acoustic waveguides formed in the housing 2, near the microphone and the input of which is oriented towards the microphone and the outlet of which is oriented towards the inlet opening 11.

L'invention concerne également un appareil mains-libres 16 tel que représenté à la figure 7.The invention also relates to a hands-free device 16 as shown in FIG. 7.

This device 16 comprises a terminal 1 as described above and a box 17 for receiving the terminal 1. One of the edges, in the figure, the bottom 18 of the reception box 17 constitutes a means forming a wall separate from the terminal 1, making it possible to create, with the rear face 4 of the housing 2 of the terminal 1, an acoustic waveguide 12 ′ similar to the waveguide 12 which serves to guide the speech emitted by a user towards the inlet opening 11 constituting the interface d entry with the microphone.
