Abstract

The passenger count security control system for an aircraft uses video and binary count systems. A display terminal and video monitor indicate the number of seated passengers on board the aircraft and the number of vacant seats. The number of passengers already on board the aircraft is then compared with the number of boarding cards handed out. Pref. the baggage spaces above the seats are monitored to determine which are open and which are closed. The aircraft emergency exits are monitored to ensure that they are not blocked by luggage.
