Description
The invention relates to a portion capsule for preparing a beverage in a beverage production machine, wherein the portion capsule has a cup-shaped base body, which forms a cavity for receiving a beverage powder, as well as a lid which closes the cavity, and a method for producing such a portion capsule.
So beschreibt beispielsweise
The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a portion capsule for preparing a beverage in a beverage production machine, wherein the portion capsule has a cup-shaped base body, which forms a cavity for receiving a beverage powder, as well as a lid which closes the cavity, and a method for producing a provide such a portion capsule, which overcome the aforementioned problems and represent an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional, from the prior art portion capsules.
This is achieved in a device-oriented manner according to the invention, characterized in that the base body and the lid are constructed of a composite material at least two-layer, the first layer consists of a paper material and the second layer consists of a textile fabric.
In this way, uncontrolled cracking of the paper material is prevented, even if the portion capsule during the preparation of the beverage in the beverage production machine high mechanical pressures and high temperatures act. The fibers of the textile fabric prevent the spread of cracks in the paper material, which otherwise - starting from perforations or punctures caused by device-side means for piercing blades or other cutting bodies, by means of which the supply of hot brewing water in the portion capsule and the drain the brewed beverage from the portion capsule be realized - uncontrolled spread in the paper material and would lead to its rupture. The textile fabric increases the strength of the portion capsule in the wet state and prevents bursting of the portion capsule under the pressure of the hot water in the interior. In addition, the textile fabric maintains the dimensional stability of the portion capsule, even if the paper material is soaked and softened by the hot beverage liquid. In addition, the fabric structure prevents particulates of the beverage powder from being discharged through the drainage holes into the beverage during the high pressure brewing process.
In the dry state, the paper material also seals the contents in the inner cavity of the portion capsule well over a sufficiently long period against the ingress of atmospheric oxygen, so that the portion capsule is storable during this time without further repackaging and without significant loss of quality. The periods during which portion capsules are stored without further outer packaging are comparatively short anyway. Most of the time, ie during transport and storage in the trade, the portion capsule are already stored in larger-sized outer packaging (boxes, bags), which then ensure the gas tightness against unwanted access to oxygen.
The textile fabric and the paper material are bonded by means of a water-based adhesion promoter, which is suitable for direct contact with food (ie in particular is not solvent-containing) and is temperature-resistant beyond the boiling point of water addition, bonded to a composite. The portion capsules according to the invention are manually compressible after use and are biologically recoverable without restrictions, for example by way of fermentation or composting.
Although portioned capsules according to the invention come into consideration primarily for the intake of ground coffee powder. However, they are by no means limited to this, but can also be used to package other portioned, dry and powdered foods.
In a particularly advantageous manner, the invention provides that the first position of the composite material consisting of a paper material is arranged in a position lying in relation to the cavity. The arrangement of the two layers of the composite material to each other is chosen so that the internal with respect to the cavity of the portion capsule paper material facilitates the filling of the cavity with a beverage powder and prevents sticking or crusting or clumping of the beverage powder on the inner wall of the portion capsule.
Alternatively, however, the invention also provides that the first layer of the composite material consisting of a paper material is arranged in a position lying outside the cavity.
The invention further provides that the base body comprises a bottom and at least one side wall, wherein the composite material of the side wall has an additional third outer layer of a paper material with respect to the cavity. In this way, a higher stability of the portion capsule against compressive stress is achieved. In addition, the smoother surface of the paper material of the outer layer is easier to print.
In this case, in a particularly preferred manner, the textile fabric is formed from viscose staple fibers. These are derived from cellulose and must be suitable for contact with food.
The invention further provides that the textile fabric is designed as a plain weave. In this way, the closest possible crossing of the warp and weft threads of the textile fabric is realized. This increases the stability and rigidity of the portion capsule. In a particularly preferred manner, the textile fabric in this context has a weaving density of 15 to 20 threads / cm 2 , wherein the number of warp threads is 10 to 12 warp threads per centimeter of the textile fabric. A weave density of 20 threads / cm 2 is particularly preferred here.
This is supported in a particularly advantageous manner when the paper material of the side wall has a basis weight of at least 90 g / m 2 . This also contributes to increasing the rigidity of the portion capsule according to the invention. In a particularly preferred manner, the paper material of the side wall comprises two layers of a paper material having a basis weight of 45 g / m 2 to 55 g / m 2 , so that in the region of the side wall of a portion capsule according to the invention taking into account the textile fabric and the glue Basis weight of the entire three-layer composite from 155 g / m 2 to 175 g / m 2 results. The textile fabric and the glue have a combined basis weight of 65 g / m 2 .
This is usefully complemented by the fact that the paper material of the bottom or the lid comprises a single layer of a paper material having a basis weight of 45 g / m 2 to 55 g / m 2 , so that in the region of the bottom or lid of a portion capsule according to the invention Taking into account the textile fabric and the glue results in a basis weight of the entire two-layer composite material of at least 110 g / m 2 .
- Producing a first at least two-ply composite material whose first layer consists of a paper material and whose second ply consists of a textile fabric, as well as punching out a bottom and a cover from this first composite material,
- Producing a second three-layer composite material whose two outer layers are made of a paper material and whose inner layer consists of a textile fabric, as well as cutting out a side wall made of this second composite material,
- Producing the base body from the bottom and the side wall, wherein the bottom and the side wall form a cup-like, one-sidedly open cavity and the first position of the base is arranged inwardly with respect to the cavity,
- Filling the cavity of the body with a beverage powder,
- ■ applying the lid to the cavity of the body, the first
Position of the lid with respect to the cavity is arranged inside. In producing both types of composites, in a first step, a water-based, i. solvent-free and thus more suitable for direct contact with food, and at the same time heat-resistant adhesion promoter (also called "laminating adhesive") applied in the cold state on a first web of the paper material, e.g. by brushing or by the roll bar method. In contrast to conventional tissue-paper composite materials, in which the tissue for receiving the adhesion promoter is passed through a dipping bath, in this way the amount of the applied adhesion promoter can be better controlled. In a next step, the textile fabric and the paper material are brought together in a impression roller and pressed against each other. Only then is the web laminated in this way freed of water in a drying channel or by passing over heated surfaces of drying cylinders. By subsequently reacting the adhesion promoter, an insoluble composite material is produced from a layer of a textile fabric and at least one layer of the paper material.
The three-layer composite material is produced in an analogous manner, wherein parallel to the first layer of paper material another, coated with the adhesive second layer of the paper material is applied from the opposite side to the textile fabric, so that the textile fabric between the two outer Layers of paper material comes to rest. Also in the production of the three-layer composite material, the textile fabric and the two layers of paper material are brought together in a impression, pressed against each other and freed from the water by drying, so that by reacting the bonding agent an insoluble composite material is produced.
In a final step, both the two-ply and the three-ply composite can still be passed through a calender, resulting in a strong compaction and smoothing of the surface of the paper material. Then the blanks for the bottom and lid are cut from the two-layer composite material. From the three-layer composite material, the side wall is cut out. The bottom and the sidewall are defined by conventional, i. known per se, cup rolling technology connected to each other to the body, with the bottom and side wall after a single turn and twice counterfolding using an adhesive whose properties are identical to the properties of the aforementioned laminating adhesive fix each other. Likewise, the lid is applied to the base body.
