Der Gast oder eine Gruppe von Gästen erhält entweder ein Leihgerät oder es werden fest installierte Geräte genutzt. Schließlich offenbart die DE 10 2012 105 251 A1 ein Verfahren, das auf der Verwendung des persönlichen mobilen Endgerätes des Gastes beruht. Dabei sind die Tische in dem Restaurant mit Kennzeichnungsmitteln, wie Barcodes oder Ähnlichem, ausgestattet, die am Tisch angebracht sind und dort verbleiben. Anhand der darin gespeicherten Kennung ist jeder Tischplatz eindeutig identifizierbar.
