The display device 200 is typically provided with a presentation page similar to a media center. Partial contents of each video resource are displayed for a user in a mode of a plurality of video thumbnails on the page, and further guidance and prompt are provided for the user, so that the user can quickly browse each video resource according to the contents of the thumbnails.
Generally, a thumbnail is extracted from the first frame of image data of a video asset for display. However, if the first frame image of the video asset is black, or the capture of the first frame image data is abnormal, the thumbnail corresponding to the video asset on the display device 200 may be displayed in a black screen. The thumbnail images in this case do not provide help for the user to browse the video assets, and the completely black thumbnail images also affect the visual effect of the user using the display device 200.
Based on the above, the embodiment of the application provides a video thumbnail display method and a display device 200, when a user wants to watch a resource page providing video resources, a controller 250 of the display device 200 may extract a first frame image of the video resources to be displayed on the resource page or use a preset thumbnail as a thumbnail of the video resources to be displayed on the resource page, so as to ensure a visual experience effect of the user.
As described in the foregoing embodiments, the display device 200 in the embodiment of the present application may include the display 260 and the controller 250. The controller 250 may obtain a thumbnail of the video resource, and then control the display 260 to display the thumbnail.
FIG. 5 illustrates a schematic diagram of an interaction between a user and controller 250, according to some embodiments.
As shown in fig. 5, in the embodiment of the present application, a user may browse some video resources using the display device 200, and during browsing, the user may input a page display instruction to the display device 200. The page display instruction is used for representing a resource page showing video resources, which a user wants to watch, and a plurality of video resources can be shown on one resource page.
The controller 250 of the display apparatus 200, in response to this page display instruction, extracts the first frame image of the video asset to be presented on the asset page before displaying the thumbnail of the specific video asset. If a plurality of video resources are mainly shown on the resource page, the controller 250 needs to extract the first frame image of each video resource respectively.
The controller 250 continuously detects whether the first frame image of the video resource is a full black image, and if the first frame image is the full black image, in order to avoid the problem of poor user visual experience caused by direct display of the full black image, in the embodiment of the present application, a thumbnail needs to be preset, where the preset thumbnail is not the full black image, but an image with color and fixed content. Then, the controller 250 controls the display 260 to display the thumbnail corresponding to the video resource on the resource page as a preset thumbnail in case that the first frame image is a full black image.
In addition, in some embodiments, if the first frame image is not a completely black image, indicating that the image is valid and can be used as brief information of the video asset, then the controller 250 may control the display 260 to display a thumbnail of the video asset as the first frame image in this case.
As can be seen, in the display device 200 provided in the embodiment of the present application, the controller 250 may automatically extract the first frame image of the video resource to be displayed on the resource page and automatically replace the thumbnail of the resource page when the first frame image is a full black image, so as to avoid a situation that the user visual experience is poor due to the display of the full black thumbnail.
It should be noted that the manner of inputting the instruction to the display device 200 by the user may be inputting by operating a key of the remote controller, or inputting to the display device 200 equipped with the voice module by voice.
FIG. 6 illustrates a control flow diagram for controller 250 according to some embodiments.
In practical cases, there may be a case where the first frame image of the video resource cannot be extracted due to a problem in the configuration of the controller 250 or a problem in the video resource itself. Further, in some embodiments, as shown in fig. 6, after the controller 250 extracts the first frame image in response to the page display instruction, it is further required to detect whether the first frame image is successfully extracted, and in a case that the first frame image is successfully extracted, continue to detect whether the first frame image is a completely black image; in the case where the extraction fails, the control display 260 displays the thumbnail of the video asset as a preset thumbnail.
And, in case that the first frame image is a full black image, controlling the display 260 to display a thumbnail of the video asset as a preset thumbnail. In the case where the first frame image is not an all-black image, the display 260 is controlled to display a thumbnail of the video asset as the first frame image.
FIG. 7 illustrates a second control flow diagram for controller 250 according to some embodiments.
In practical cases, the controller 250 may also acquire a poster or the like corresponding to the video resource from the server, and display the content as a thumbnail as brief information of the video resource, but the acquisition of the poster from the server is premised on that the display apparatus 200 is networked, and only in the case of networking, the display apparatus 200 can establish a communication relationship with the server. Therefore, in some embodiments, as shown in fig. 7, the controller 250 extracts a first frame image thereof from the video asset in response to a page display instruction input by the user, and detects whether the display apparatus 200 is networked in a case where the first frame image is an all-black image; under the condition that the display device 200 is networked, poster pictures of the video resources are obtained from a server according to the information of the video resources; the control display 260 then displays the thumbnail of the video asset as a poster picture.
Also, in some embodiments, if the first frame image is a full black image and the display apparatus 200 is not networked, the controller 250 needs to control the display 260 to display the thumbnail of the video asset as a preset thumbnail.
In some embodiments, in the case where the first frame image is a full black image and the display device 200 is networked, if the controller 250 fails to acquire a poster picture of a video asset from a server, it continues to control the display 260 to display a thumbnail of the video asset as a preset thumbnail.
As an example, the resource page described in the foregoing embodiment may display a video resource provided in the external media device. For example, after the user connects the usb disk to the display device 200, if the user wants to view the video resources in the usb disk, a page display instruction needs to be sent to the display device 200, which may be specifically to control the display device 200 to display the content in the usb disk, and after receiving the page display instruction, the controller 250 automatically detects the video resources in the usb disk and extracts the first frame image from each video resource.
FIG. 8 illustrates a schematic diagram of a full black thumbnail according to some embodiments. FIG. 9 illustrates a schematic diagram of a thumbnail according to some embodiments.
As shown in fig. 8, if a video asset in hasty year is stored in the usb disk, and the first frame image of the video asset is a full-black image, the display 260 displays a black screen image of hasty year as shown in fig. 8 when displaying the thumbnail of the video asset. By adopting the scheme in the embodiment of the present application, the controller 250 can control the display 260 to display the thumbnail of "the hurry year" as the preset thumbnail when detecting that the first frame image is a completely black image, as shown in fig. 9.
As can be seen from the above content, the display device 200 provided in the embodiment of the present application may automatically extract the first frame image of the video resource to be displayed on the resource page when the user wants to watch the resource page providing the video resource, and if the first frame image is a black image, the display 260 needs to display the thumbnail of the video resource as a preset thumbnail, so as to ensure the experience effect of the user.
In addition, the preset thumbnail in the embodiment of the application is a colored image with fixed content, so that the problem of visual experience caused by a completely black image can be avoided during display. Moreover, if the display device 200 is networked, the poster picture of the video resource obtained by the controller 250 from the server side can also avoid the problems caused by the completely black image, and meanwhile, the poster picture can also be used as brief information of the video resource to provide some guidance and prompt for the user.
FIG. 10 illustrates a flow diagram of a video thumbnail display method according to some embodiments.
The embodiment of the present application further provides a method for displaying video thumbnails, which is applied to the controller 250 or some other components that may implement the control function according to the foregoing embodiment, as shown in fig. 10, where the method may include the following steps:
step S101, receiving a page display instruction input by a user for instructing the display device 200 to display a resource page. The resource page is used for displaying the video resource in a thumbnail mode.
Step S102, responding to a page display instruction, and extracting a first frame image of a video resource to be displayed on a resource page. The resource page can display a plurality of video resources, and at this time, the first frame images of the video resources need to be extracted respectively.
