Some embodiments of the present application are implemented based on the system shown in fig. 1, which includes a user device 100 and a network device 200, and the user device 100 and the network device 200 communicate in a wired or wireless manner. Network device 200 may in some embodiments optionally communicate with different user devices simultaneously or sequentially. Wherein in some embodiments the user device 100 is an electronic book reader, which is typically developed based on liquid crystal display technology or electronic ink display technology, and provides a paper-like reading experience; in other embodiments, the user device 100 is a mobile communication device such as a mobile phone, a tablet computer, etc., on which electronic book reading software is executed, through which a user reads an electronic book. Some embodiments of the present application will be described in detail below using this system as an example.
Referring to fig. 2, a method for providing associated book information is provided. The method comprises the following steps:
the user equipment responds to detection of reading exit operation of a user in a current reading interface and sends the book information recommendation request to the network equipment;
the network device determines book information of at least one electronic book based on the book information recommendation request and generates associated book information, wherein the associated book information comprises the book information;
the network equipment sends the related book information to the user equipment; the method comprises the steps of,
and the user equipment receives the related book information, and superimposes and presents the book information of at least one electronic book in the current reading interface.
The following description is developed from both the user equipment and the network equipment, respectively.
User equipment aspect
According to one aspect of the present application, a method for providing associated book information is provided. The method is applied to the user equipment side, and referring to fig. 3, the method includes step S110, step S120 and step S130. In step S110, in response to detecting that the user exits from reading in the current reading interface, the user device 100 sends the book information recommendation request to the network device; in step S120, the user device 100 receives the associated book information returned by the network device based on the book information recommendation request, where the associated book information includes book information of at least one electronic book; in step S130, the user device 100 presents book information of at least one electronic book in the current reading interface.
Specifically, in step S110, the user device 100 sends the book information recommendation request to the network device in response to detecting the reading exit operation of the user in the current reading interface. For example, the current reading interface is used for presenting the content of the electronic book that the user is currently reading, and the user equipment optionally provides functions of page turning, page setting and the like under the interface. The user may provide the touch keys on the current reading interface by pressing physical keys on the user device or triggering touch keys provided by the user device (e.g., touch keys are triggered in a click manner or in a swipe gesture), where in some embodiments the touch keys are provided on the current reading interface, e.g., touch keys are virtual keys presented on the current reading interface. When the user device 100 detects a corresponding exit operation, a book information recommendation request for requesting information of the electronic book recommended to the user to the server is generated and transmitted to the network device. In some embodiments, the book information recommendation request is generated in real time based on a reading exit operation of the user, so that real-time book recommendation is realized in combination with the specific situation when the user exits from reading.
In step S120, the user device 100 receives the associated book information returned by the network device based on the book information recommendation request, where the associated book information includes book information of at least one electronic book. Wherein the associated book information is information of an electronic book related to the user (for example, an electronic book that the user may be interested in) or information of an electronic book related to the electronic book that the user read before performing the reading exit operation (for example, information of an electronic book of the same/different classification, the same/different subject, etc. as the electronic book) in some embodiments. The associated book information optionally includes one or more of book name, book author, publisher, version information, file size, cover or cover thumbnail, content profile, price, etc., and it should be understood by those skilled in the art that these information are merely examples and not limiting of any specific embodiments of the present application, and other information items that may be present or may appear in the future are included as associated book information as applicable to the present application, and are also included within the scope of the present application and are incorporated herein by reference.
In step S130, the user equipment 100 presents the book information of at least one electronic book in the current reading interface, for example, the electronic books are recommended to the user who exits from reading the electronic book currently being read, so that the trouble of searching for other electronic books which may be interested by the user again is avoided, and the use experience of the user is improved.
In some embodiments, step S110 described above includes sub-step S111 and sub-step S112 (neither shown). In sub-step S111, the user equipment 100 generates a book information recommendation request in response to detecting a reading exit operation of the user in the current reading interface, wherein the book information recommendation request includes first identification information of the current book. Here, the "current book" refers to an electronic book that a user is reading before exiting reading. The first identification information of the current book is in some embodiments used for the network device to match the electronic book with the same/different classification, the same/different subject matter, etc. with the current book. Then in sub-step S112, the user device 100 transmits the book information recommendation request to the network device. Accordingly, in step S120, the user device 100 receives the associated book information returned by the network device based on the first identification information. In the case of providing the first identification information of the current book to the network device, the network device may provide the relevant other electronic books to the user based on the current book accurately, e.g., in the case where the user exits reading the current book, the electronic books of the same category or material as the current book are no longer recommended to the user because the user is likely to be uninteresting of the current book.
In some embodiments, in the above substep S111, in response to detecting that the user exits from reading in the current reading interface, the user device 100 provides the user with collection prompt information to remind the user to collect the current book before the user starts reading other books, so that the user can continue reading the currently read book without repeatedly searching for the currently read book; then, in response to detecting a user collection cancelling operation, a book information recommendation request is generated, wherein the book information recommendation request comprises first identification information of a current book. Wherein in some embodiments the above method further comprises step S140 (not shown). In step S140, the user device 100 generates a book information recommendation request in response to detecting the collection operation of the user, wherein the book information recommendation request includes first identification information of the current book; wherein the network device 200 determines the book information recently collected by the user based on the first identification information, and determines the historical reading information of the user based on the book information recently collected by the user. The collection operation shows that the user is interested in the current book, so that the first identification information contained in the book information recommendation request can be used for the network equipment to provide the electronic books (for example, the electronic books with the same/different classifications, the same/different subjects and the like with the current book) related to the current book for the user, thereby improving the possibility that the user can quickly find similar electronic books, improving the operation efficiency of the user, saving the system resources and improving the use experience of the user. In other embodiments, the book information of the electronic book for providing to the user is provided together with the collection prompt, thereby reducing the operation steps of the user and improving the operation efficiency. Specifically, in step S130, the user equipment 100 presents book information of at least one electronic book in the current reading interface, and provides the user with collection prompt information.
In some embodiments, the book information recommendation request further includes reading progress information of the current book, in particular in some embodiments the reading progress information of the current book is obtained immediately by the user device 100 before the book information recommendation request is generated. For example, the reading progress information includes (but is not limited to) any one or several of the following:
-the proportion of the content that the user has read to the content of the whole electronic book;
-the proportion of content that the user has not yet read to the content of the whole electronic book;
-the number of words the user has read;
-the number of words that the user has not read;
-an accumulated reading time for the user to read the current book;
the predicted remaining reading time of the current book is read by the user.
It should be understood that the foregoing is by way of example only and is not limiting of the reading progress information in the present application. Based on the reading progress information, the system (or network equipment) can provide more accurate book recommendation results for the user, further improve the efficiency of recommending the electronic books of interest to the user, and avoid recommending the electronic books of no interest to the user. For example, the reading progress information reflects the degree of interest of the user in the current book, and the more the user has completed reading, the more interest the user is in the current book, and the user should be recommended an electronic book similar to the current book; conversely, the less the portion of the user that completes reading, the less interested the user is in the current book, and the recommendation of such electronic books to the user should be reduced. By timely acquiring the progress of the user in reading the current book and generating the book request, the system can obtain better real-time performance.
In some embodiments, the book information recommendation request includes annotation information of the user in the current book. Specifically, in step S100, the user device 100 generates a book information recommendation request in response to detecting a reading exit operation of the user in the current reading interface, where the book information recommendation request includes annotation information of the user in the current book. The network device determines book information of at least one electronic book based on the annotation information and provides related book information to a user, wherein the related book information comprises the book information of the at least one electronic book. Wherein the annotation information of the user includes (but is not limited to): the user selects/highlights sentences, paragraphs, etc. in the current book; comment of the user on part of the content in the current book; the user replies to comment contents of other users; etc. Based on the annotation information of the user, the system (or the network device) can accurately determine the electronic book of interest of the user (for example, based on the annotation content of the user, the similar annotation content of other users in other electronic books is matched, and corresponding other electronic books are recommended to the user), or determine other readers with the same or similar reading habit as the user and further recommend the electronic books to the user.
In some embodiments, the step S130 includes a substep S131 and a substep S132 (neither shown). In sub-step S131, the user device 100 presents an information window in the current reading interface, the information window partially covering the current reading interface. This information window is also referred to as a "pop-up window" in some cases. Referring to the user interface shown in fig. 4, the user interface provides a current reading interface for a user, in which contents of a current book read by the user are presented. After the information window is presented, the current reading interface is partially covered by the information window, so that the user can read the content of the electronic book currently being read and compare while reading the related information of the electronic book recommended by the system from the information window. On this basis, step S130 further comprises a substep S133 (not shown) in some embodiments. In sub-step S133, the user equipment 100 adjusts the coverage ratio of the information window in the current reading interface in response to detecting the window adjustment operation of the user. For example, the reading interface is presented on a touch screen of the user equipment, and the user drags the information window along the direction of the dotted arrow on the touch screen, so that the information window covers more range on the screen of the user equipment, more recommended information of the electronic book is provided for the user, and the utilization rate of the screen is improved.
In some embodiments, the information window includes some promotion information (such as promotion information obtained based on matching of reading habits of users) in addition to the book information of the recommended electronic book, so as to provide relevant guidance for the users, so as to realize optimal configuration of resources. Accordingly, in the step S120, the user device 100 receives the related book information and the promotion information returned by the network device based on the book information recommendation request, where the related book information includes book information of at least one electronic book; in sub-step S132, the user equipment 100 presents the promotion information and the book information of at least one electronic book in the information window. In particular, in some embodiments, the promotional information includes promotional book information that is determined based on electronic books that other users tend to read, collect, pay for purchase, etc., to provide reading advice to the current user.
In various embodiments of the present application, the book information recommendation request sent to the network device may optionally include user identification information (for example, a user name, a user ID, etc. of the user in the application) of the current user, and the network device may determine, based on the user identification information, a reading history, a reading preference, etc. of the user, so as to improve accuracy of recommending books for the user.
Network equipment aspect
Referring to fig. 5, according to an aspect of the present application, the present application further provides a method for providing related book information, which is applied to a network device side. The method includes step S210, step S220, step S230 and step S240. In step S210, the network device 200 receives a book information recommendation request sent by the user device based on the reading exit operation of the user in the current reading interface; in step S220, the network device 200 determines book information of at least one electronic book based on the book information recommendation request; in step S230, the network device 200 generates associated book information including the book information; and in step S240, the network device transmits the associated book information to the user device.
Specifically, in step S210, the network device 200 receives a book information recommendation request transmitted by the user device based on the reading exit operation of the user in the current reading interface. The book information recommendation request is for requesting information of an electronic book for recommendation to a user from a server. In some embodiments, the book information recommendation request is generated in real time based on a reading exit operation of the user, so that real-time book recommendation is realized in combination with the specific situation when the user exits from reading.
In step S220, the network device 200 determines book information of at least one electronic book based on the book information recommendation request. For example, the network device determines one or several of the following electronic books (but not limited thereto, by way of example only), and determines book information (e.g., covers, book names, summaries, etc.) of the electronic books:
the current full-network reader (or a certain group of readers) reads the most one or several books;
-the current full-network reader (or a certain group of readers) collects the most one or several books;
-determining the relevant electronic book based on relevant information of the current user (including but not limited to reading history, collection history, etc.);
determining a related electronic book based on the electronic book being read by the current user (current book), e.g. other electronic books belonging to a different type or different subject matter than the current book.
Subsequently in step S230, the network device 200 generates associated book information including the book information; in step S240, the network device 200 sends the related book information to the user device, so that the user device provides the user with the related book information of the electronic book.
In some embodiments, the book information recommendation request includes first identification information of a current book being read by the user. Here, the "current book" refers to an electronic book that a user is reading before exiting reading. In step S220, the network device 200 determines book information of at least one electronic book based on the first identification information. For example, the network device performs a matching operation according to the first identification information of the current book to determine other electronic books having the same/different classifications, the same/different subjects, etc. as the current book; the matching operation may be performed based on the name of the book, the classification, the subject matter, the tag (e.g., an evaluation from the reader), the rating (e.g., an evaluation from the reader), the listing suggestion, etc., obtained by the query with the first identification information. Wherein in some embodiments step S220 described above includes sub-step S221 and sub-step S222 (neither shown). In sub-step S221, the network device 200 determines the reading preference information of the user based on the first identification information, for example, removes a keyword of a name of the current book, a summary keyword, a classification of the current book, a subject matter of the current book, a tag of the current book, etc. from the preference list of the user to update the reading preference information of the user; in sub-step S222, the network device determines book information of at least one electronic book based on the reading preference information, for example, the electronic books matched for recommendation to the user according to the book name keyword, the abstract keyword, the book classification, the book subject, the book label, etc. in the updated reading preference list. Thus, in the case of providing the first identification information of the current book to the network device, the network device may provide the relevant other electronic books to the user based on the current book accurately, e.g., in the case of the user exiting from reading the current book, the electronic books of the same category or subject matter as the current book are no longer recommended to the user, since the user is likely not interested in the current book.
In some embodiments, in the above-mentioned sub-step S222, the network device 200 determines the book information of at least one electronic book based on the reading preference information and the yield information of at least one electronic book. For example, an electronic book for recommendation to a user contains a promoted book that is determined based on electronic books that other users tend to perform reading, collection, pay-for-purchase, etc., thereby providing reading advice to the current user. So as to provide relevant directions for users and realize the optimal configuration of resources.
In some embodiments, the book information recommendation request further includes reading progress information of the current book, in particular in some embodiments the reading progress information of the current book is obtained immediately by the user device 100 before the book information recommendation request is generated. Accordingly, in sub-step S221, the network device 200 determines the reading preference information of the user based on the first identification information and the reading progress information. For example, the reading progress information includes (but is not limited to) any one or several of the following:
-the proportion of content that the user has read to the content of the whole electronic book, wherein electronic books having a low content proportion that have been read will be determined as a user tending to no longer read such books;
-the proportion of content that the user has not yet read to the content of the whole electronic book, wherein an electronic book with a high proportion of content that has not yet read will be determined as a user's tendency to no longer read such book;
-the number of words that the user has read, wherein an electronic book with a smaller number of words that has been read will be determined as a user tending to no longer read such a book;
-the number of words that the user has not read, wherein an electronic book with a higher number of words that has not been read will be determined as a user's tendency to no longer read such book;
-an accumulated reading time for a user to read a current book, wherein an electronic book with a shorter accumulated reading time will be determined as a user tending to no longer read such book;
the expected remaining reading time of the current book is read by the user, wherein an electronic book with a longer expected remaining reading time will be determined as a user tending to no longer read such a book.
It should be understood that the foregoing is by way of example only and is not limiting of the reading progress information in the present application. Based on the reading progress information, the network device can provide a more accurate book recommendation result for the user, so that the efficiency of recommending the electronic books interested in the user is further improved, and the electronic books not interested in the user are prevented from being recommended to the user.
In some embodiments, to increase the processing efficiency of the system and reduce the data storage pressure, in step S220, the network device first determines second identification information of at least one electronic book based on the first identification information, for example, queries determine at least one related (e.g. same category or same subject matter) electronic book, wherein a mapping relationship between the electronic books is determined in advance in some embodiments; corresponding book information is then determined based on the second identification information, for example, book information such as titles, summaries, classifications, etc. of the corresponding electronic books is determined based on the second identification information query, so that the recommended book information of the electronic books is provided to the user.
In some embodiments, the book information recommendation request includes annotation information of the user in the current book. Accordingly, in step S220, the network device 200 determines book information of at least one electronic book based on the annotation information. Wherein the annotation information of the user includes (but is not limited to): the user selects/highlights sentences, paragraphs, etc. in the current book; comment of the user on part of the content in the current book; the user replies to comment contents of other users; etc. Based on the endorsement information of the user, the network device may accurately determine the electronic book of interest to the user (e.g., based on the endorsement content of the user, match similar endorsement content of other users in other electronic books, and further recommend corresponding other electronic books to the user), or determine other readers having the same or similar reading habits as the user and further recommend electronic books to the user. In one embodiment, the network device determines a similarity between annotation information of the user in the current book and annotation information of other users in other electronic books, and if the similarity reaches a similarity threshold, recommends the other electronic books to the current user.
For example, in step S220, the network device 200 determines the historical reading information of the user based on the user identification information, and then determines the book information of at least one electronic book based on the historical reading information to achieve accurate recommendation of the electronic book. Wherein the history read information includes at least any one of:
-book information recently accessed by the user, such as book information of an electronic book recently read by the user;
-book information of the electronic book that the user has recently completed reading, for example book information of the electronic book that the user has recently read up to 100%;
-information of books recently collected by the user, for example information of books recently added to "bookshelf" electronic books by the user;
-reading progress information of at least one electronic book by the user, such as the reading progress of one or several electronic books recently read by the user, respectively.
