Description

RPR intersecting ring logic port state switching method and device
Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of internet, in particular to a method and a device for switching states of a logic port of an RPR (resilient packet ring) intersecting ring.
Background
The RPR (Resilient Packet Ring) technology is a novel MAC (Media Access Control) protocol for optimizing message transmission on a Ring structure, and can be operated on various physical layers such as SONET (Synchronous optical Network)/SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy), DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing), ethernet, etc., to effectively transmit messages of various data types such as voice, image, etc., and to provide a flexible and efficient networking scheme for broadband IP metropolitan area Network operators.
A ring network formed using RPR technology is called an RPR ring, and the structure of the RPR ring is shown in fig. 1. With the development of internet technology, the network environment is more and more complex, the networking mode formed by a single RPR ring cannot meet the requirement of message transmission, and message transmission needs to be performed among a plurality of RPR rings. As shown in fig. 2, in order to meet the requirement of message transmission between multiple RPR rings, the RPR rings form an intersecting ring network, and two devices connected between two intersecting RPR rings are intersecting devices. In the RPR intersected ring networking, data frames are broadcast and forwarded in two RPR rings, and a broadcast storm is easily formed. To avoid broadcast storm, STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) is mostly adopted, any intersecting ring logic port of one intersecting device is set to be in a blocking state, and a loop is logically disconnected, as shown in fig. 3, the state of the intersecting ring logic port RPR6/0/1 of the device 4 is set to be in the blocking state, so that broadcast storm on the RPR intersecting ring can be avoided.
If any intersecting device has a device fault, for example, a certain intersecting ring logic port of the device 3 shown in fig. 3 has a fault, considering the period of data frame transmission and transmission delay, the device 4 needs to set the state of the intersecting ring logic port RPR6/0/1 to a forwarding state after a data frame sent by the device 3 is not received within a long period of time, so as to ensure normal transmission of the data frame in the RPR intersecting ring networking, and thus, the state switching of the intersecting ring logic port cannot quickly track the device fault, so that the transmission interruption time of the data frame is too long when the device fault occurs.

and if the state of at least one of the intersected ring logic ports of which the initial states are forwarding states on the equipment and the opposite terminal equipment is a fault state, switching the state of the intersected ring logic port of which the initial state is a blocking state from the blocking state to the forwarding state.
In a second aspect, an embodiment of the present invention provides a device for switching states of logic ports of an RPR intersecting ring, which is applied to an apparatus in which an intersecting ring logic port in an initial state is in a blocking state in an RPR intersecting ring networking, and the device includes:
the monitoring module is used for monitoring the state of the logic port of the intersected ring of which the initial state is the forwarding state on the equipment; receiving a monitoring protocol message sent by opposite terminal equipment according to a preset period; identifying the value of a designated bit in the monitoring protocol message; determining the state of the logic port of the intersected ring of which the initial state is the forwarding state on the opposite terminal equipment according to the numerical value of the designated bit;
and a switching module, configured to switch the state of the intersecting ring logic port with the initial state being the blocking state from the blocking state to the forwarding state if the state of at least one of all intersecting ring logic ports with the initial state being the forwarding state on the device and the opposite device is the failure state.
In an RPR inter-intersection ring networking, an initial state of an inter-intersection ring logic port of one device of two inter-intersection devices is preset to be a blocking state, the device monitors a state of the inter-intersection ring logic port of which the initial state is a forwarding state, and determines a state of the inter-intersection ring logic port of which the initial state is the forwarding state on an opposite device by receiving a monitoring protocol message sent by the opposite device according to a preset period, identifying and specifying a bit value according to the monitoring protocol message, and if a state of at least one inter-intersection ring logic port of all inter-intersection ring logic ports of which the initial states are the forwarding states on the local device and the opposite device is a failure state, switching the state of the inter-intersection ring logic port of which the initial state is the blocking state from the blocking state to the forwarding state. The state of the intersection ring logic port on the opposite terminal equipment is actively monitored by using a monitoring protocol message, the monitoring protocol message is independent of a data frame and is used for forwarding detection, and the transmission period of the monitoring protocol message is obviously shorter than that of the data frame, so that the transmission interruption time of the data frame when equipment failure occurs is shortened.

Detailed Description
The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present invention, and it is obvious that the described embodiments are only a part of the embodiments of the present invention, and not all of the embodiments. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the embodiments given herein without making any creative effort, shall fall within the protection scope of the present invention.
In order to facilitate understanding of the method and apparatus for switching states of a logic port of an RPR intersection ring provided in the embodiment of the present invention, a basic concept related to the RPR technology is first introduced below.
The RPR technology is designed to support large-capacity data services in a metropolitan area network, and has the following characteristics: physical layer diversity; the bandwidth utilization rate is high; broadcast and multicast are supported; topology automatic discovery, supporting plug and play of devices; the rapid protection mechanism can realize millisecond fault self-healing through topology protection; providing flow grade guarantee by supporting bandwidth reservation service and rate limit; fair bandwidth allocation. These features provide support for the wide range of applications of RPR technology.
The RPR adopts a reverse double-loop structure, and as shown in fig. 1, a ring whose data frame transmission direction is clockwise (a ring formed by solid lines in fig. 1) is referred to as a 0-loop, and a ring whose data frame transmission direction is counterclockwise (a ring formed by broken lines in fig. 1) is referred to as a 1-loop. A section of transmission channel connecting adjacent devices is called a link, the adjacent devices are connected by two links in opposite directions, and the two links in opposite directions between the two adjacent devices form a section; a plurality of consecutive segments and devices on the segments form a domain; the physical port for receiving data frames on the 0 ring and transmitting data frames on the 1 ring is called a west port; the physical port that transmits data frames on the 0 ring and receives data frames on the 1 ring is called an east port; when a segment and/or a device adjacent to the segment fails, the segment becomes an edge when the segment cannot forward the data frame; the states of the RPR rings are divided into a closed ring state and an open ring state, and the RPR ring on which no side exists is in the closed ring state and the RPR ring on which the side exists is in the open ring state.
The RPR interface can be divided into two types, i.e., an RPR logical port and an RPR physical port, in terms of morphology. The RPR equipment is composed of two RPR physical ports of west direction and east direction, and the two RPR physical ports are bound with one RPR logical port to form one RPR equipment.
In the RPR ring network, the equipment and the ring are matched to complete data operation, and the operation modes comprise the following four modes: the device inserts the data frame from the RPR ring network into the data flow of the RPR ring network; the device forwards the data frame of the device on the RPR ring network to the next device; the ring-down operation does not stop the forwarding of the data frame on the RPR ring network; and stripping, deleting the data frame by the equipment, and terminating the forwarding of the data frame on the RPR ring network.
The above-described modes of operation and combinations thereof are used by the devices to provide support for unicast, broadcast, multicast, and unknown unicast.
As shown in fig. 4, the forwarding method of the RPR ring for the unicast data frame includes the following steps: performing an upper ring operation on the data frame at the source device, and inserting the data frame into a data stream of a 0 ring or a 1 ring; performing an over-loop operation on each intermediate device of the data frame path; when a data frame arrives at a destination device or a TTL (Time To Live) value of the data frame becomes 0, a loop down and a strip operation are performed thereon.
As shown in fig. 5, the forwarding manner of the RPR ring for the broadcast data frame, the multicast data frame, and the unknown unicast data frame includes the following steps: performing an upper ring operation on the data frame at the source device, and inserting the data frame into a data stream of a 0 ring or a 1 ring; in each device of the data frame path, as long as the TTL value of the data frame is not 0, the data frame is subjected to data loop-through and loop-down operations; when the data frame returns to the source device or the TTL value of the data frame becomes 0, a stripping operation is performed thereon.
The broadcast storm can not occur on a single RPR ring by stripping the original equipment, and when two RPR rings are intersected, the two RPR rings are in the same VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network), so that the broadcast storm can not be avoided.
The embodiment of the invention provides a method and a device for switching the state of a logic port of an RPR intersecting ring, which are used for avoiding the broadcast storm of the RPR intersecting ring networking and shortening the transmission interruption time of a data frame when equipment fails. Next, a method for switching the states of the RPR intersected ring logic ports according to an embodiment of the present invention is described first.
The execution body of the method for switching the states of the logical ports of the RPR intersected rings provided by the embodiment of the present invention may be a device in the RPR intersected ring networking where the logical ports of the intersected rings in the initial state are in the blocking state, and two intersected ring devices in the RPR intersected ring networking are connected by a link, so that another device in the two intersected ring devices may be referred to as an opposite end device of the above device. Two intersecting devices in the RPR intersecting ring networking respectively have two intersecting ring logic ports in the RPR intersecting ring networking, in an initial condition, an initial state of one intersecting ring logic port on one device is set to be a blocking state, the intersecting devices can be network devices such as a switch and a router, and the intersecting devices at least comprise a switching chip with a control function. The mode for implementing the RPR intersection ring logic port state switching method provided by the embodiment of the present invention may be at least one of software, a hardware circuit, and a logic circuit provided in the execution body.
As shown in fig. 6, a method for switching states of a logical port of an RPR intersecting ring according to an embodiment of the present invention may include the following steps:
s601, monitoring the state of the logic interface of the intersected ring of which the initial state is the forwarding state on the local terminal equipment.
The local terminal equipment can monitor the state of the intersecting ring logic port with the initial state of the local terminal equipment being the forwarding state in real time, judge whether the current state of the intersecting ring logic port is normal or fault, and monitor the state of the intersecting ring logic port in real time without interruption or periodically.
S602, receiving a monitoring protocol message sent by the opposite terminal device according to a preset period.
The monitoring protocol message is a protocol message used for forwarding detection independent of the data frame. The monitoring protocol message is interacted between the local terminal equipment and the opposite terminal equipment and is used for informing the opposite terminal equipment of the forwarding state of the local equipment, each equipment can monitor the state of the logic port of the intersected ring of the equipment, and the monitored state of the logic port of the intersected ring is carried in the monitoring protocol message and is sent to the opposite terminal equipment, so that the local terminal equipment can monitor the states of the logic ports of the two intersected rings on the opposite terminal equipment through the monitoring protocol. The monitoring protocol message may be a BFD (Bidirectional Forwarding Detection) message or other fast Detection message, or may also be a protocol message carrying only the state of the logic port of the intersected ring, because the monitoring protocol message is independent of the data frame, and carries little data, the transmission rate and the generated time delay of the monitoring protocol message are both significantly better than those of the data frame, when the equipment failure occurs in the opposite end device, the speed of monitoring the equipment failure in the opposite end device through the monitoring protocol message is significantly increased. In order to ensure real-time monitoring of the equipment, the interaction of the monitoring protocol messages is often periodic, and the interaction period of the monitoring protocol messages is the same as or similar to the monitoring period of the monitoring of the logic interface of the intersected ring of the equipment.
S603, identifying the value of the designated bit in the monitoring protocol message.
The monitoring protocol message may carry a state of an intersecting ring logic port on the opposite-end device, where the state is represented by a value of a specified bit number in the monitoring protocol message, and different values represent different states, for example, "0" represents a fault state and "1" represents a normal state, where only "0" and "1" are taken as examples, and other values may also represent different states.
S604, according to the value of the designated bit, determining the state of the intersecting ring logic interface of which the initial state is the forwarding state on the opposite terminal equipment.
The opposite-end device sends the monitoring protocol message according to a preset period, and the local-end device recognizes the value of a designated bit in the monitoring protocol message every time the local-end device receives one monitoring protocol message, for example, the 5 th bit of the designated monitoring protocol message indicates whether the state of the intersecting ring logic ports of the opposite-end device is a fault state, if the 5 th bit of the designated monitoring protocol message is 1, the designated monitoring protocol message indicates that the states of the intersecting ring logic ports of the opposite-end device are all normal states, and if the 5 th bit of the designated monitoring protocol message is 0, the designated monitoring protocol message indicates that the state of at least one intersecting ring logic port in the intersecting ring logic ports of the opposite-end device is a.
Or, when the monitoring protocol packet is a BFD packet, since bits 9 to 31 in the BFD packet are reserved bits, bit 9 may be set to indicate whether the state of the intersecting ring logic port of the peer device is a fault state. If the local terminal equipment receives a BFD message sent by the opposite terminal equipment, the state of the logic port of the intersected ring of the opposite terminal equipment can be determined to be a normal state by identifying that the 9 th bit is 1; if the local terminal device receives the BFD packet sent by the opposite terminal device, it can determine that the state of at least one of the intersecting ring logic ports of the opposite terminal device is a failure state by recognizing that the 9 th bit is 0.
The period of protocol message interaction monitoring between the local terminal device and the opposite terminal device is usually 10 milliseconds or shorter, so that the local terminal device can be ensured to monitor the state of the intersecting ring logic interface on the opposite terminal device in a very short time, support is provided for shortening the transmission interruption time of a data frame when a device failure occurs, and millisecond-level monitoring and switching are realized.
In order to more accurately monitor the state of each intersecting ring logic port on the opposite-end device, optionally, the monitoring protocol packet may be set to include two designated bits.
S604 may specifically be:
if the value of the designated bit is the designated fault value, determining the state of the logic port of the intersecting ring corresponding to the designated bit is the fault state;
and if the value of the designated bit is the designated normal value, determining that the state of the logic port of the intersected ring corresponding to the designated bit is the normal state.
By setting two designated bits, the two designated bits respectively correspond to the states of two intersecting ring logic ports on the opposite terminal device, the designated fault value is a value representing that the state of the intersecting ring logic port is a fault state, such as "0", and the designated normal value is a value representing that the state of the intersecting ring logic port is a normal state, such as "1". Suppose that the 5 th bit of the designated monitoring protocol packet indicates whether the state of one intersecting ring logic port on the opposite terminal device is a fault state, and the 6 th bit indicates whether the state of another intersecting ring logic port on the opposite terminal device is a fault state. If the 5 th bit of the monitoring protocol message is '1', the state of the corresponding logic interface of the intersecting ring is shown as a normal state, and if the 5 th bit of the monitoring protocol message is '0', the state of the corresponding logic interface of the intersecting ring is shown as a fault state; if the 6 th bit of the monitoring protocol message is "1", it indicates that the state of the corresponding logic interface of the intersecting ring is a normal state, and if the 6 th bit of the monitoring protocol message is "0", it indicates that the state of the corresponding logic interface of the intersecting ring is a fault state.
For another example, when the monitoring protocol packet is a BFD packet, for example, the 9 th bit and the 10 th bit may be set to respectively indicate whether the states of two intersecting ring logic ports on the peer device are fault states. If the local terminal equipment receives a BFD message sent by the opposite terminal equipment, the state of the corresponding logic port of the intersected ring can be determined to be a normal state by identifying that the 9 th bit is '1'; by identifying that the 9 th bit is '0', the state of the corresponding logic interface of the intersecting ring can be determined to be a fault state; by identifying that the 10 th bit is '1', the state of the corresponding logic port of the intersecting ring can be determined to be a normal state; by identifying the 10 th bit as "0," the state of the corresponding intersecting ring logic port can be determined to be a fault state.
Optionally, the method for switching the state of the RPR intersection ring logic port provided in the embodiment of the present invention may further perform the following steps:
and if the monitoring protocol message is not received within the preset interval, switching the state of the intersected ring logic interface with the initial state being the blocking state from the blocking state to a forwarding state, wherein the preset interval is greater than the preset period.
After the local terminal device receives a monitoring protocol message, if the monitoring protocol message sent by the opposite terminal device is not received within a preset interval, it indicates that the opposite terminal device has a fault and the device cannot work normally, and the state of the intersecting ring logic port of which the initial state is the blocking state on the local terminal device can be directly switched from the blocking state to the forwarding state.
It should be noted that the step of monitoring the state of the intersecting ring logic port whose initial state is the forwarding state on the local device shown in S601 and the steps of monitoring the state of the intersecting ring logic port whose initial state is the forwarding state on the opposite device shown in S602 to S604 may be executed in parallel or in series, and fig. 6 only shows one of the cases, and does not specifically limit the execution sequence.
S605, if the state of at least one of the intersected ring logic ports of the home device and the peer device, the initial state of which is the forwarding state, is a failure state, the state of the intersected ring logic port of which the initial state is the blocking state is switched from the blocking state to the forwarding state.
If 1, 2 or 3 states of all the intersecting ring logic ports of which the initial states are forwarding states on the local terminal device and the opposite terminal device are monitored to be fault states, the state of the intersecting ring logic port of which the initial state is a blocking state is switched from the blocking state to the forwarding state, so that normal transmission of data frames is ensured.
Optionally, after S605, the method for switching the state of the logical port of the RPR intersection ring provided in the embodiment of the present invention may further return to execute S601 to S604, and execute the following steps:
and if the states of all the intersecting ring logic ports of which the initial states are forwarding states on the local terminal equipment and the opposite terminal equipment are normal states, switching the state of the intersecting ring logic port of which the initial state is a blocking state from the forwarding state to the blocking state.
After switching the state of the intersecting ring logic interface with the initial state being the blocking state, the local terminal device continues to monitor the states of the intersecting ring logic interface with the initial state being the forwarding state on the local terminal device and the opposite terminal device, and if the states of the intersecting ring logic interfaces are all restored to the normal state, the state of the intersecting ring logic interface with the initial state being the blocking state, which is switched to the forwarding state before, is switched from the forwarding state to the blocking state, so as to avoid broadcast storm.
Optionally, the method for switching the state of the RPR intersection ring logic port provided in the embodiment of the present invention may further perform the following steps:
if the state of at least one of the logic ports of the intersected ring, the initial state of which is the forwarding state, on the local terminal device and the opposite terminal device is the fault state, the state of the logic port of the intersected ring, the initial state of which is the blocking state, is kept as the forwarding state.
In the process that the local terminal equipment continuously monitors the states of the intersected ring logic ports of which the initial states are forwarding states and the opposite terminal equipment, if the state of at least one of the intersected ring logic ports is still monitored to be a fault state, the state of the intersected ring logic port of which the initial state is a blocking state is kept to be the forwarding state, and switching is not carried out.
In this embodiment, in an RPR inter-ring networking, an initial state of an inter-ring logic port of one of two inter-ring devices is set in advance to be a blocking state, the device monitors a state of the inter-ring logic port whose initial state is a forwarding state, and determines a state of the inter-ring logic port whose initial state is a forwarding state on an opposite device by receiving a monitoring protocol packet sent by the opposite device according to a preset period, identifying and determining a value of a designated bit in the monitoring protocol packet, and if a state of at least one of all inter-ring logic ports whose initial states are forwarding states on the local device and the opposite device is a failure state, switching the inter-ring logic port whose initial state is a blocking state from a blocking state to a forwarding state. In addition, because the transmission cycle of the monitoring protocol message is 10 milliseconds or shorter, the state monitoring and switching at the millisecond level can be realized.
For convenience of understanding, the following describes in detail a method for switching states of RPR intersecting ring logic ports according to an embodiment of the present invention, with reference to the RPR intersecting ring network shown in fig. 3.
Initially, one of the 4 intersecting ring logic ports on the two intersecting devices (device 3 and device 4) is arbitrarily selected to be set to the blocking state, for example, the intersecting ring logic ports RPR6/0/1 of device 4 in fig. 3 is set to the blocking state, so as to avoid a loop.
The device 4 monitors the states of the logic ports RPR3/0/1 and RPR5/0/1 of the intersecting ring of the device 3 through the improved BFD message. The improved BFD message is a monitoring protocol message, and BFD is a commonly used fast detection means, but it cannot confirm the state of the specific interface of the monitored equipment, so that it is necessary to improve the standard BFD message and simultaneously carry the state information of the intersecting ring logic interface of the monitored equipment. The BFD message has 32 bits, the 0 th to 8 th bits are occupied bits of the BFD message to indicate a link detection result between two intersecting devices, the 9 th to 31 th bits are reserved bits, two bits can be arbitrarily selected from the 9 th to 31 th bits to extend the standard BFD message, for example, the 9 th bit and the 10 th bit are selected to respectively represent states of logic ports of the device on the RPR ring 1 and the RPR ring 2, the bit position 1 represents that the state of the logic port of the intersecting ring is a normal state, and the bit position 0 represents that the state of the logic port of the intersecting ring is a fault state or a blocking state.
Under the condition of no fault, the 9 th bit and the 10 th bit in the improved BFD message sent to the device 3 by the device 4 are respectively '1' and '0', the 9 th bit and the 10 th bit in the improved BFD message sent to the device 4 by the device 3 are respectively '1' and '1', and a BFD session can be established between the device 4 and the device 3 through interaction of the improved BFD message.
The improved BFD packet may be transmitted between the device 3 and the device 4 at intervals of 10 ms (or less), for example, as the standard BFD packet, and the failure detection time is 3 x 10 ms (or less) by default, so as to ensure the protection switching on RPR at the level of ms.
When the intersecting ring logic port RPR5/0/1 of the device 3 fails, the 9 th bit and the 10 th bit in the improved BFD message sent to the device 4 are respectively "1" and "0", and after the device 4 receives the message, it will sense that the state of other intersecting ring logic ports is a failure state, and at this time, the RPR6/0/1 is switched from a blocking state to a forwarding state;
when the intersecting ring logic port RPR3/0/1 of the device 3 fails, the 9 th bit and the 10 th bit in the improved BFD message sent to the device 4 are respectively "0" and "1", and after the device 4 receives the message, it will sense that the state of other intersecting ring logic ports is a failure state, and at this time, the RPR6/0/1 is switched from a blocking state to a forwarding state;
when the RPR4/0/1 of the intersecting ring logic port of the device 4 fails, the device 4 can directly monitor that the state of the intersecting ring logic port is a failure state, and at this time, the RPR6/0/1 is directly switched from a blocking state to a forwarding state without exchanging BFD messages with the device 3;
if a plurality of states of the RPR3/0/1, the RPR4/0/1 and the RPR5/0/1 are fault states, the processing method is the same.
When the device 3 fails, the device 4 cannot receive the improved BFD packet sent by the device 3 within 3 × 10 milliseconds (or less), and then the device 4 enters a timeout processing flow, and if a BFD session is established, the BFD session is disconnected overtime, and the RPR6/0/1 is switched from the blocking state to the forwarding state.
Under the condition that the RPR6/0/1 of the device 4 is in the forwarding state, the 9 th bit and the 10 th bit in the modified BFD message sent by the device 3 are "1" and "1", respectively, and it is monitored that the state of the RPR4/0/1 is normal, it indicates that all the 3 intersecting ring logical ports are completely recovered, and the device 4 immediately switches the RPR6/0/1 from the forwarding state back to the blocking state.
Under the forwarding state condition, the RPR6/0/1 of the device 4 receives that bits 1 of bits 9 and 10 in the improved BFD message sent by the device 3 are "0", or it is monitored that the state of the RPR4/0/1 is a failure state, which indicates that the logic port of the failed intersecting ring has not been completely recovered, and the RPR6/0/1 on the device 4 still maintains the forwarding state.
According to the scheme, in the RPR intersected ring networking, the initial state of an intersected ring logic port RPR6/0/1 of equipment 4 in intersected equipment is set to be a blocking state in advance, the equipment 4 monitors the state of the intersected ring logic port RPR4/0/1, monitors the states of two intersected ring logic ports RPR3/0/1 and RPR5/0/1 on equipment 3 through interactive improved BFD messages, and if at least one of the monitored states of the intersected ring logic ports RPR3/0/1, RPR4/0/1 and RPR5/0/1 is a fault state, the state of the RPR6/0/1 is switched from the blocking state to a forwarding state. The state of two logic ports of an intersecting ring on the device 3 is actively monitored by using the improved BFD message, the improved BFD message is a protocol message which is independent of a data frame and is used for forwarding detection, and the transmission cycle of the improved BFD message is 10 milliseconds or shorter, so that the state monitoring and switching at the millisecond level can be realized, and the transmission interruption time of the data frame when the device fails is shortened.
