Description

JBOD cascade system
Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of storage, in particular to a JBOD cascade system.
Background
At the storage back end, in order to expand the number of large-scale hard disks, a SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) manner is generally adopted in the storage field, as shown in fig. 1. The storage is connected with the multistage SAS expansion cards through one port of the SAS channel card, and each stage of SAS expansion cards can expand a certain number of hard disks, so that the whole storage equipment can expand more hard disks. The SAS channel card generally has two common types, i.e., a dual port type and a four port type, and in order to improve the IO performance, many manufacturers use 2 or more SAS channel card ports to expand the bottleneck of the back-end IO. Actually, it is found that although the total bandwidth of the backend IO is improved, the total bandwidth of the backend IO is not in direct proportion to the number of ports of the SAS channel card actually used, for example, when one SAS channel card port is used, the total bandwidth of the backend IO is 2.0 GBps; when 2 SAS channel card ports are used, the total bandwidth of the back-end IO is generally 2.5GBps-3.0GBps, and the bandwidth cannot be doubled.
Therefore, how to further improve the load efficiency of the port IO of the SAS channel card is a problem that needs to be solved currently.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of this, an object of the present invention is to provide a JBOD cascade system, which can implement balanced load at each port IO of an SAS channel card by controllably adjusting load of IO, and improve load efficiency of each port IO of the SAS channel card. The specific scheme is as follows:
a JBOD cascade system comprises an SAS channel card and an SAS expansion card set connected with the SAS channel card, wherein by means of the SASZoning zoning technology, a hard disk set of each SAS expansion card in the SAS expansion card set is divided into a plurality of zones, each zone comprises a hard disk subset, and each zone corresponds to a port of the SAS channel card.
Optionally, each partition of each SAS expansion card includes a same hard disk subset size.
Optionally, the number of partitions of each SAS expansion card is the same as the number of ports of the SAS channel card.
Optionally, the partitions of each SAS expansion card correspond to the ports of the SAS channel card one to one.
Optionally, the number of the partitions of each SAS expander card is the same, and each partition of each SAS expander card has a partition with the same area number as that of the partition in other SAS expander cards.
The JBOD cascade system comprises an SAS channel card and an SAS expansion card set connected with the SAS channel card, wherein a hard disk set of each SAS expansion card in the SAS expansion card set is divided into a plurality of partitions by using the SASZoning partitioning technology, each partition comprises a hard disk subset, and each partition corresponds to a port of the SAS channel card.
According to the SAS channel card and the SAS expansion card set connected with the SAS channel card, the hard disk set of each SAS expansion card in the SAS expansion card set is divided into a plurality of subareas by using the SASZoning zoning technology, each subarea comprises a hard disk subset, and each subarea corresponds to a port of the SAS channel card, so that specific control on how many hard disks correspond to the ports of the SAS channel card is realized, the load of IO (input/output) can be controllably adjusted, the balanced load of IO (input/output) of each port of the SAS channel card can be realized, and the load efficiency of IO of each port of the SAS channel card is improved.

FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of a JBOD cascade system of the prior art;
FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram of a JBOD cascade system structure disclosed in the embodiments of the present invention.
Detailed Description
The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present invention, and it is obvious that the described embodiments are only a part of the embodiments of the present invention, and not all of the embodiments. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the embodiments given herein without making any creative effort, shall fall within the protection scope of the present invention.
The embodiment Of the invention discloses a JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disks) cascade system, which is shown in figure 2 and comprises an SAS channel card 11 and an SAS expansion card set 12 connected with the SAS channel card 11, wherein by utilizing the SASZoning zoning technology, a hard disk set Of each SAS expansion card 13 in the SAS expansion card set 12 is divided into a plurality Of zones, each zone comprises a hard disk subset, and each zone corresponds to a port Of the SAS channel card 11.
Specifically, the hard disk set of the SAS expansion card 13 is divided into a plurality of partitions with different zone numbers by using the SAS zoning partition technology, each partition may include a plurality of hard disks, and a hard disk subset is formed, each partition corresponds to a port of one SAS channel card 11, and since how many hard disks are included in each partition is known, how many hard disks correspond to each port of the SAS channel card 11 may be controlled, for example, the hard disk set of one SAS expansion card 13 includes 10 hard disks, the hard disk set is divided into partitions with 3 different zone numbers by using the SAS zoning partition technology, such as a first partition, a second partition, and a third partition, the first partition may include a hard disk subset including 3 hard disks, the second partition may include a hard disk subset including 3 hard disks, the third partition may include a hard disk subset including 4 hard disks, the first partition and the second partition may correspond to the first port of the SAS channel card 11, the third partition may correspond to the second port of the SAS channel card 11.
Further, the size of the hard disk subsets included in each partition of each SAS expansion card 13 may be the same, the number of partitions of each SAS expansion card 13 may be the same as the number of ports of the SAS channel card 11, the partitions of each SAS expansion card 13 may correspond to the ports of the SAS channel card 11 one to one, the number of partitions of each SAS expansion card 13 is the same, and each partition of each SAS expansion card 13 has a partition with the same area number as that of the partition in other SAS expansion cards 13, so that the balanced distribution of the IO loads of the SAS channel cards 11 can be realized by satisfying all the above conditions.
For example, the SAS channel card 11 has 4 ports, a first port, a second port, a third port, and a fourth port, the SAS expander set 12 may include 5 SAS expander cards 13, each of the SAS expander cards may include 40 hard disks, each of the SAS expander cards 13 may include 4 partitions, which are a first partition, a second partition, a third partition, and a fourth partition, respectively, each of the partitions includes 10 hard disks, the first partition of each SAS expander card 13 corresponds to the first port, the second partition corresponds to the second port, the third partition corresponds to the third port, and the fourth partition corresponds to the fourth port, it should be noted that the partitions with the same area number of each SAS expander card 13 are communicated with each other, so that each of the four ports of the SAS channel card 11 loads 10 hard disks of each SAS expander card 13, and 50 hard disks in total, thereby achieving balanced distribution of IO loads of the SAS channel card 11.
Certainly, the JBOD cascade system does not necessarily need to satisfy all the above conditions at the same time to achieve balanced distribution of the IO load of the SAS channel card 11, and may control how many hard disks are responsible for each port of the SAS channel card 11 according to the actual application requirements of the user, so as to achieve reasonable distribution of the IO of the SAS channel card 11, for example, the SAS channel card 11 has 4 ports, a first port, a second port, a third port, and a fourth port, the SAS expander set 12 may include 5 SAS expander cards 13, each of which may include 40 hard disks, each SAS expander card 13 may include 4 partitions, which are respectively a first partition, a second partition, a third partition, and a fourth partition, the first partition to the third partition may include 12 hard disks, the fourth partition may include 4 hard disks, the first partition of each SAS expander card 13 corresponds to the first port, the second partition corresponds to the second port, the third partition corresponds to the third port, the fourth partition corresponds to the fourth port, the first port to the third port of the SAS channel card 11 are respectively responsible for 60 hard disks, and the fourth port of the SAS channel card 11 is responsible for 20 hard disks, so as to provide efficient IO processing capability for the hard disks in the fourth partition of each SAS expansion card 13, and ensure that important data of the hard disks in the fourth partition of each SAS expansion card 13 can be processed in time.
As can be seen, in the SAS channel card 11 and the SAS expander card set 12 connected to the SAS channel card 11 in the embodiment of the present invention, by using the SAS zoning technology, the hard disk set of each SAS expander card 13 in the SAS expander card set 12 is divided into a plurality of zones, each zone includes one hard disk subset, and each zone corresponds to a port of the SAS channel card 11, thereby implementing specific control on how many hard disks correspond to the port of the SAS channel card 11, controllably adjusting the load of IO, implementing balanced load of IO at each port of the SAS channel card 11, and improving the load efficiency of IO at each port of the SAS channel card 11.
