Description

模压接触镜片的方法和设备
发明背景
1.技术领域
本发明涉及模压镜片的方法和设备,特别涉及模压诸如接触镜片的方法和设备,这种接触镜片具有已修正的边缘,并适于直接佩戴在眼睛上。本发明更特别涉及模压接触镜片及制作其容器的新颖方法和设备,它采用连续卷材的进给方法,其中镜片在分别形成于第一和第二卷材的后、前模具腔之间进行模压。采用同步进给机械将卷材对准组装在一起以便将先前放置在一个模具腔中的液体镜片材料固化,此后将它们相互分开以露出模压镜片。在本发明的实施例中,模压镜片的包装容器形成于镜片在其中进行模压的同一卷材上。
2.相关技术的说明
已经证实接触镜片的浇铸模压是镜片大批量生产的可靠和经济的方法。为此,已经加强对模压镜片生产方法中的模压技术的重视,这些模压技术能够稳定地大规模生产非抛弃型镜片。现请注意美国专利USPatent No.5271875,该专利发布于1993.12.21,与本申请共同拥有,并已经通过参考而将‘875专利包含于此。此‘875专利涉及采用前、后半模具模压接触镜片的方法,这些前、后半模具只是一次性的组装在一起以便在其间模压镜片,在镜片材料固化之后分开,然后抛掉。如在‘875专利中说明的,半模具包括锥形侧壁以便在将它们组装在一起夹紧时(见其中的图2-17)形成协同对准装置,或者锥形锁定(见其中的图21-24)以便在聚合时提供必要的力将半模具挤压在一起。更为特别的是,围绕前后半模具的表面腔相应地设置了可变形的边缘和环状细纹52和47,以便在依靠对半模具施加夹紧力使包含于模具中的单聚物固化时,相互倚靠啮合和变形。通过将相应模具表面腔缓慢地相互相对而组装,由于边缘和环状细纹被迫相互倚靠变形,边缘和环状细纹的接触除在镜片材料固化时调节镜片材料的收缩外,还形成镜片的已修正边缘。
虽然‘875专利中的方法和装置在大生产基础上能有效稳定地生产相当数量的非抛弃型镜片,但仍然有要求,通过例如改进的自动化和包装技术不断地降低成本。
GB-A-2040213中也公开了一种制作镜片的方法和设备。该公开物中提出,准备一个带材,其上具有凹陷的模具腔以注入一种塑料。但是,根据该在先技术,不可能将卷材成型为包装,因为用于形成模具腔的卷材会在镜片制作过程中,例如在该在先技术的图3-6中所示的研磨和抛光过程中毁坏。
发明内容
本发明根据降低模压镜片生产成本的要求,提出一种改进的在前、后模具腔之间模压镜片的自动化方法,这些后、前模具腔纵向间隔地形成于连续进给通过镜片模压过程的对准的第一和第二卷材上。镜片模压过程包括的步骤通常为:(1)相应地在第一和第二卷材上形成前、后模具腔;(2)将液体的可固化接触镜片材料分发在前模具表面上;(3)将两卷卷材组装在一起使前、后半模具腔依次配对对准;(4)将液体的镜片材料固化至固体状态,同时调节单聚物的收缩;和(5)在固化阶段之后分开卷材,以便取出成品镜片。辅助加工步骤包括镜片检查、水合作用和包装。在本发明的最佳实施例中,镜片包装是由模压过程中使用的同一卷材制成的。
可固化镜片材料通常是由可聚合单聚物的可固化混合物构成的。固化导致单聚物的共聚反应,从而形成共聚物形状的物品。可固化镜片材料包括制作硬或软接触镜片技术中使用的那些材料。已知,硬镜片包括有机玻璃镜片和由硅或氟硅共聚物制成的硬式可透气镜片(RGP),而软接触镜片则包括亲水的水凝胶镜片或硅酮弹性镜片。
卷材可由能在其中形成若干间隔的模具腔的各种材料制成。在每卷卷材上,模具腔由一级真空成型工序及随后的次级精压工序形成。模具腔也可替代地与卷材同时在连续生产线上的注塑过程中形成。适于做任一种卷材或两种卷材的材料与‘875专利中所列举的相同,并包括聚氨酯、硬聚氯乙烯、ionomer、聚芳基砜、聚硅、聚酯、聚苯乙烯、橡胶改性共聚物或硬聚氨酯,所有这些材料都适合于以上任一种卷材/模具制作过程。
形成于卷材上的模具轮廓可基本与US-5,271,875专利中所示和所说明的相同,或可根据镜片几何形状的要求,有其它的轮廓。虽然能将每一卷材中的模具腔以对准和定中心的配对啮合方式通过模压过程进给前、后卷材的各种方法都是可以应用的,但在下文还将对各种卷材进给和模具定中心的装置进行详细说明。这在‘875专利的单个半模具中则是通过在相应半模具上设置嵌套侧壁而完成的。

最佳实施例的详细说明
现请参考附图,图1是本发明提出的一个最佳镜片生产和包装过程的简化示意图。一般讲,此过程是通过相应地设置第一和第二卷材10和12来实现的,这些卷材最好生产成卷筒14和16的形式,卷材10和12则相应地同时由这些卷筒分发。然后,每卷卷材10和12单个地经受真空成型工序,以便,例如于15处在卷材12上,相应地于其上形成后、前模具腔18和20。可在真空成型腔18和20上,例如于22处在卷材12上,采用硬质钢工具附加地进行次级精压工序以获得要求地表面轮廓。如前所述,这些轮廓可基本与‘875专利中所示和所说明的轮廓相同,它们重现于此处的图3A和3B中。这样,如在‘875专利中一样,在后、前模具腔18和20中相应地形成了边缘和环状细纹52和47,它们相互倚靠相对地变形,以形成已修正的镜片边缘,同时也为聚合阶段单聚物的收缩进行调节(下文将加以说明)。

应指出也可采用其它的在卷材10和12上形成模具腔18和20的方法。例如,可采用连续生产线上的注塑工序使腔18和20与卷材10和12同时形成。还有,可能制作卷材10和12的材料包括以上‘875专利中例举的那些材料。
后、前模具腔18和20分别成型之后,如在工位26上,将测定量的液体单聚物21分发至卷材12中的每个前模具腔20中。然后,如在28上,将后、前卷材10和12相应地组装在一起,以便如在30上,在配对的模具腔之间模压和固化镜片。
当然,后、前卷材10和12组装在一起时,它们的模具腔18和20必须位于精确的定中心和配对的啮合中。为此,每一卷材10和12可分别由传送带27和29运送(图4),每一传送带相应地包括若干枢轴转动连接的、卷材支承垫块31和33,垫块33具有凹陷49用以支承腔20,而垫块31具有孔45以便紫外线光能由此通过,固化单聚物21。可见到,带27和29的移动是同步的,以便运送卷材10和12,使模具腔18和20处于所述定中心的,配对啮合中。

在图5中,固化是受一对紫外线灯43作用的,这对灯使紫外线光通过形成于带27中支承垫块31上纵向间隔的孔45而照射,其它固化装置(如加热装置)也可使用以替代或作为紫外线光的辅助。要指出的是,卷材10和12可相应地包括任何数量横向间隔的模具腔18和20的列,而支承垫块31和33也包括相应数量的横向间隔的孔45和凹陷49以相应地放置模具腔18和20。
请再参考图1,单聚物在工位30固化后,卷材10和12如在32那样地被分开,浇铸镜片34在此处被适当的装置从它们相应的模具腔中取出。虽然没有表示,但对浇铸镜片34可采用最终固化和检查来进行进一步的加工。在浇铸镜片34从模具腔中吐出后,卷材12(和/或卷材10)相应地如在36和38上那样地经受次级真空定型和精压加工,形成若干镜片容器40,用于将浇铸镜片34放置于其中。应指出,镜片容器40大于模具腔18和20,以便容纳在38上的精压工序之后进行的水合作用期间,如在工位42上形成的膨胀的镜片。在浇铸镜片34完全水合化后,在容器40中加入适量的镜片保存流体(如盐水),覆盖材料(如铂)卷46密封包装容器的周边,此后具有或不具有进一步外包装的镜片可加以输运。如需要,可进行随后的切割工艺(未表示)以便分割覆盖着的容器40’。

Claims (23)

1.一种模压若干凹凸镜片(34)的方法,其包括如下步骤:
(a)分别在第一和第二卷材(10,12)上以纵向间隔的关系形成后、前镜片模具腔(18,20);
(b)将测定量的可固化镜片材料(21)分发在每个所述前模具腔(20)中;
(c)将第一和第二卷材(10,12)对准并移动到一起;
(d)固化镜片材料(21);以及
(e)将所述第一和第二卷材(10,12)分开,以便吐出浇铸于配对的后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)之间的每个镜片(34),
其特征在于,在步骤(c),对准的后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)依次移动进入定中心的相互配对啮合状态,在步骤(d),在固化期间,一个夹紧力施加到成型的配对卷材(10,12)上,而且还包括如下附加步骤:
(f)至少在所述第一和第二卷材(10,12)之一中成型若干包装容器(40),所述浇铸镜片放置于其中以便运输;和

4.如权利要求1的方法,其特征在于,在步骤(a)中应用真空成型机。
5.如权利要求4的方法,其特征在于,在所述真空成型机之后应用精压机。
6.如权利要求1的方法,其特征在于,所述卷材(10,12)和镜片模具腔(18,20)是同时由注塑模压工艺成型的。
7.如权利要求1的方法,其特征在于,所述容器(40)是采用真空成型机成型的。
8.一种模压若干凹凸镜片(34)的方法,其包括如下步骤:
(a)设置第一和第二卷材(10,12);
(b)分别在所述第一和第二卷材(10,12)上以纵向间隔的关系形成可对准的后、前镜片模具腔(18,20);
(c)将测定量的可固化镜片材料(21)分发在每个所述前模具腔(20)中;
(d)将第一和第二卷材(10,12)对准并移动到一起;
(e)固化镜片材料(21);以及
(f)将所述第一和第二卷材(10,12)分开,以便吐出浇铸于配对的后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)之间的每个镜片(34),
其特征在于,第一和第二卷材(10,12)上的对准的后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)依次移动进入定中心的相互啮合状态,在固化期间,配对后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)由一个夹紧装置(30)移动到一起,该夹紧装置包括支承台板(41)和加载转辊组合件(37),所述第二卷材(12)在所述支承台板(41)上引导通过,而所述加载转辊组合件(37)对所述第一卷材(10)施加一个朝向所述第二卷材(12)的力F,所述支承台板(41)同时对所述第二卷材(12)施加一个朝向所述第一卷材(10)的反作用力FR,从而将所述配对后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)彼此相向着移动。
9.如权利要求8的方法,其特征在于,在步骤(d)中,所述第一和第二卷材(10,12)是由第一和第二传送带(27,29)移动至一起的,所述第一和第二传送带分别啮合并移动所述第一和第二卷材(10,12)。
10.如权利要求9的方法,其特征在于,每个所述前模具腔(20)分别包括与所述配对后腔(18)相对的外表面,而且所述第二传送带(29)包括刚性部分(38),它们与所述前模具腔(20)的所述外表面对准,并在反向使所成型的轮廓与所述外表面相符,当所述第二传送带(29)移动所述第二卷材(12)时,每个所述刚性部分(38)支撑一相应的所述前模具腔(20)。
11.如权利要求10的方法,其特征在于,所述反作用力FR是通过所述第二传送带(29)的所述刚性部分(38)作用至所述配对的、成型的卷材(10,12)上的。
12.如权利要求9的方法,其特征在于,所述第二传送带(29)包括若干枢轴转动联结的支承垫块(33),每个垫块至少具有一个凹陷(49),所述凹陷(49)对准所述前模具腔(20),当所述第二传送带(29)移动所述第二卷材(12)时,所述前模具腔(20)位于相应的所述凹陷(49)中,并由其支承。
13.如权利要求9的方法,其特征在于,所述第一传送带(27)包括若干枢轴转动联结的支承垫块(31),每个垫块至少具有一个孔,当所述第一传送带(27)移动所述第一卷材(10)时,所述孔对准所述后模具腔(18)。
14.如权利要求13的方法,其特征在于,固化作用是通过所述支承垫块(31)上的孔而指向的。
15.如权利要求14的方法,其特征在于,固化作用是由紫外线照射进行的。
16.模压若干凹凸镜片(34)的设备,所述设备包括:
(a)分别在第一和第二卷材(10,12)上以纵向间隔的关系形成的后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)
(b)用于将测定量的可固化镜片材料(21)分发在所述第二卷材(12)的每个所述前模具腔(20)中的装置;
(c)用于将第一和第二卷材(10,12)移动到一起,使所述后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)对准的装置(27,29)
(d)用于固化分发于所述配对对准的后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)之间的所述可固化镜片材料(21)的装置;
(e)用于对所述配对的、成型的第一和第二卷材(10,12)施加夹紧力,所述夹紧装置(30)可运转以便将所述配对后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)彼此相向着移动的装置(30);以及
(f)用于将所述第一和第二卷材(10,12)分开,以便暴露出浇铸于配对的后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)之间的每个镜片(34)的装置(32),
其特征在于,装置(c),使具有分发于其间的所述测定量的可固化镜片材料(21)的后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)依次移动进入定中心的相互配对啮合状态,所述卷材移动装置包括第一和第二传送带(27,29),它们分别运送所述第一和第二卷材(10,12),其中每个所述前模具腔(20)分别包括与所述配对后腔(18)相对的外表面,而且所述第二传送带(29)包括刚性部分(38),它们与所述前模具腔(20)的所述外表面对准,并在反向使所成型的轮廓与所述外表面相符,当所述第二传送带(29)移动所述第二卷材(12)时,每个所述刚性部分(38)支撑一相应的所述前模具腔(20)。
17.如权利要求16的设备,其特征在于,所述夹紧力的分量是通过所述第二传送带(29)的所述刚性部分(38)作用至所述配对的、成型的卷材(10,12)上的。
18.如权利要求16的设备,其特征在于,所述第二传送带(29)包括若干枢轴转动联结的支承垫块(33),每个垫块至少具有一个凹陷(49),所述凹陷(49)对准所述前模具腔(20),从而当所述第二传送带(29)移动所述第二卷材(12)时,所述前模具腔(20)位于相应的所述凹陷(49)中,并由其支承。
19.如权利要求16的设备,其特征在于,所述第一传送带(27)包括若干枢轴转动联结的支承垫块(31),每个垫块至少具有一个孔,当所述第一传送带(27)移动所述第一卷材(10)时,所述孔对准所述后模具腔(18)。
20.如权利要求19的设备,其特征在于,固化装置是通过所述支承垫块(31)上的孔而指向的。
21.如权利要求20的设备,其特征在于,所述固化装置包括紫外线照射装置。
22.如权利要求16的设备,其特征在于,所述夹紧装置(30)包括支承台板(41)和加载转辊组合件(37),所述第二传送带(29)在所述支承台板(41)上引导通过,而所述加载转辊组合件(37)啮合位于所述第一卷材(10)相对侧的所述第一传送带(27)的部分,所述加载转辊组合件(37)可进行运转,以对所述第一卷材(10)施加一个朝向所述第二卷材(12)的力F,而所述支承台板(41)同时对所述第二卷材(12)施加一个朝向所述第一卷材(10)的反作用力FR,从而当所述第一和第二传送带(27,29)分别移动所述第一和第二卷材(10,12)时,对每个所述配对后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)施加所述夹紧力。
23.如权利要求16的设备,其特征在于,所述后、前镜片模具腔(18,20)是分别在所述第一和第二卷材(10,12)中真空成型的。
