Abstract

L'invention concerne, dans un réseau de communications possédant une voie de communication primaire, une voie de communication bidirectionnelle secondaire. La voie de communication primaire permet d'envoyer des signaux d'aval, d'une tête de réseau à un emplacement d'abonné. La voie de communication secondaire transmet les signaux de retour, de l'emplacement d'abonné à la tête de réseau, et constitue également une voie de transmission hors bande pour la signalisation d'aval. Les procédé et appareil de l'invention répondent aux besoins dans ce domaine, en ce qu'ils permettent la transmission vers l'amont des signaux de retour, par la voie de communication secondaire, ce qui empêche l'utilisation de la largeur de bande dans la voie de communication primaire. De plus, les signaux d'aval qu'il n'est pas nécessaire de transmettre dans la bande d'aval, peuvent être transmis par la voie de communication secondaire, ce qui permet de réduire encore l'utilisation de la largeur de bande dans la voie de communication primaire.
