"Cards or other inviolable media allowing access to all distribution devices or other computerized systems." The present invention relates to a card or other tamper-evident support having a similar function, allowing
<EMI ID = 1.1>
computerized such as bank distribution devices, credit card controller, safes and other secret locks, computers, etc., including the recognition base. access to these is the fingerprint affixed to the card or other similar media, which have an area where the fingerprint of one of the holder's fingers is applied beforehand.
Cards or other similar elements are intended to be introduced into distribution devices of the banking type and other computerized systems either for withdrawing a certain sum from a bank current account or for having access to a safe or even for example for routes a computer program whose data is secret. Two distribution systems can be provided to which the
<EMI ID = 2.1> invention are applicable, one being the distribution device of the banking type which is connected to a central computer where the holder's fingerprint has been previously deposited, and which recognizes, by comparison, the fingerprint that has been affixed to the card or other similar medium; the other type of distribution device or computerized system being that which compares and recognizes two fingerprints, one applied in advance to the support in an indelible manner, and the other which is applied next to it at the time of use and which corresponds to the same finger.
Cards are already known having a code number allowing access to a distribution device of the banking type, which is recorded on a magnetic tape incorporated in the card. Such cards have various drawbacks because the body distributing the cards must have a department responsible for recording the code numbers on the magnetic tapes of the cards and then entering the code numbers in the computer, which involves a large and qualified staff. On the other hand, the system which uses the code number does not present an absolute guarantee of inviolability, any individual in possession of the support and the access number being able to breach the secret.
The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks. The invention as characterized in the claims solves the problem by creating a card or other similar use medium such as for example a check or a label made of a material suitable for their use which have an area well determined where we must put the fingerprint of any finger but always the same before the introduction of the card or similar element in the dispensing device or computerized system, which have a device for comparing the fingerprint the user's digital fingerprint either with that stored in the memory of a central computer, or to compare the indelible fingerprint which is on the support or access card with that which has been affixed next to it.
The advantages obtained by the present invention essentially consist in that the fingerprint is what allows the best identification of a human being since no other person has the same fingerprint. It is no longer necessary to create identification codes, the secret of which may be revealed, or the code number be entered into the device by the holder in the wrong way or, if necessary, have been forgotten by the holder. .
The invention is set out below in more detail with the aid of drawings representing the two embodiments.
Figure 1 shows a map showing where the fingerprint should be affixed. FIG. 2 represents a card provided with an indelible fingerprint having beside it a box for applying the fingerprint of the holder during its use. Figure 3 shows a check where we indicated by way of example the box where we must put the fingerprint.
The figures represent two cards and a check, one of the cards showing the box for the fingerprint, the other card having an indelible fingerprint and the box next to it where the user must put the fingerprint with the finger corresponding to that of the indelible fingerprint and the last figure shows a check where there is a box provided to apply the holder's fingerprint.
According to the present invention, the card
(1) of Figure 1 bears the name of the organization (2) which issued it, the name of the holder (3) and the box (4) where the holder's fingerprint must be affixed. As already described, the dispensing device recognizes the fingerprint by comparison with that which is in the memory of the computer to which the dispensing device is connected, which allows it to react in the desired meaning.
The card (5) shown in FIG. 2 also bears the name of the organization (2) which issued it, the name of the holder (3), the box (6) having the indelible fingerprint (7) and box (8) where the card holder must add his fingerprint before using the card.
The check (9) shown in Figure 3 carries a box
(10) where the cardholder must apply his fingerprint before entering it into the distribution device, box (11) to indicate the currency, box (12) where the amount is written, the account number ( 13), the number of the check (14), the name of the holder (15) and the name of the organization that issued it (16).
The invention is not limited to the examples cited, but other embodiments are possible, where fingerprints are used on a physical medium as a tamper-proof means of access to distribution devices or other computer systems similar to those to which reference has been made in the present invention.
