Abstract

A fuel cell unit has a hollow micro-fiber matrix electrolyte, in which the micro-fibers (2) are filament or staple fiber bundles with bonded ends. A fuel cell unit includes a hollow micro-fiber matrix electrolyte, in which the micro-fibers (2) have a wall thickness of 0.01-50 mu and an identical outside diameter of 0.05-280 mu and are in the form of filament bundles, filament yarn bundles, staple fiber bundles or staple fiber yarn bundles with shape-stable bonded ends. Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) a fuel cell stack including several of the above fuel cell units; and (ii) a fuel injection nozzle, especially for the above fuel cell unit or stack, in which the nozzle openings are formed by hollow micro-fiber bores which have 0.1-100 mu diameter and which are used as lost cores in the casting or injection moulding of parts of the nozzle.
