Abstract
The device purifies gas streams, in particular flue gases from furnaces, with multi-stage desulphurisation and intervening removal of nitrogen in moving beds of granular carbon-containing materials with transverse flow and in mixing chambers for nitrogen-removing agents with longitudinal flow. Such devices are intended to increase the flexibility of the use of multi-stage moving-bed adsorption installations, in particular under geometrically difficult conditions, in relation to operation at low loads. This is achieved by constructing a plurality of channels acting as nozzles by means of partitions between the outlet plane of the first moving bed and the mixing chamber inlet plane and by constructing channels acting as diffusers by means of partitions between the mixing chamber outlet plane and the inlet plane of the second moving bed. <IMAGE>
