Abstract

1. A process for removal of naphthaquinone from phthalic anhydride produced by air oxidation of naphthalene or of mixtures which contain naphthalene, characterized in that the crude phthalic anhydride is treated with 1,5,9-cyclododecatriene and/or its distillation residue at increased temperatures.
