Abstract

1. Process for regenerating an organic solution of a water-insoluble nitrogenous organic base from an organic solution of its hydrochloride, in which the organic solution of the base hydrochloride (7) is treated, in the presence of water (13), with an alkaline-earth metal compound (14), to decompose the hydrochloride and form the alkaline-earth metal chloride, characterized in that at least a part of the alkaline-earth metal compound (14) is chosen from the carbonates.
