Abstract
A device comprises a memory to store motion type control data comprising a display to display information in a plurality of independent display regions, each display region being independently identifiable; identifications of motion types and corresponding operations to be performed on information displayed in one or more identified display regions; a motion detecting arrangement to detect motion of the device; a user input arrangement to receive a user input identifying operations to be performed on information displayed in one or more identified display regions during a learning phase; and a processor programmed, in the learning phase when a user input is received identifying an operation to be performed on information displayed in one or more identified display regions, to identify a motion type from motion detected by the motion detecting arrangement and to store the received user input in correspondence with data identifying the motion type in the motion type control data, and, subsequent to the learning phase when the motion detecting arrangement detects motion, to use the motion type control data to identify a motion type and execute the corresponding operation on information displayed in one or more identified display regions.
