Abstract

A COMPOSITION FOR INJECTING NUCLEIC ACID COMPLEXES TO MORE EUKARIOTIC CELLS comprises nucleic acid complexes, a substance that has an affinity for nucleic acids and optionally an intemalizing factor, containing an endosomolytic agent, e.g. a virus or a component of a virus that can be conjugated. The endosomolytic agent, which is optionally part of the nucleic acid complex, internalizes into cells together with the complex and releases endosome contents into the cytoplasm, thereby increasing gene transfer capacity. Pharmaceutical preparations, transfection sets, and methods for introducing nucleic acid into multiple eukaryotic cells by treating the cells with the composition are also described.
