Abstract

The carrier of the clamp of external skeletal fixator (1)or (2) has an extension (3) or (4) which interlocks the sideline rod or pipe (21) of the external fixator with clamps (22) which are then fixed to the axle (25) screwed into the bone. The existent external fixators, except the external fixator by Mitkovic, are without the carrier clamp so their possibilities are limited. The carrier clamp improves the external fixation because: it enables, when laying out the fixator ,the axles can be placed in any direction without guide, secures optimal balance three dimensional stability of fragment bones similarly as in natural conditions and secures the possibility that the external fixator be an instrument of precise reposition of the fracture. That concept is effectuated by securing the three dimensional movements and by: translatory and circulatory mobility of the carrier clamp (2) in regard to the sideline pipe/rod/ (21), translatory and circulatory mobility of clamps (22) in regard to the carrier clamp (2) and translatory and circulatory mobility of the axle screwed into the bone (25) in regard to the clamp (22). The carrier clamp 1 is particularly suitable for the AO fixator.
