ETILIRANI BENZINI I POSTUPCI ZA IZRADU ISTIH. Ethyl bentins are produced by mixing one butane-pentane-rich component, a gasoline component, and at least one octane-maintaining component. The mixture is vented during stirring to remove light hydrocarbons having components with two, three and four carbon atoms. Light hydrocarbons, which preferably make up less than 3% of leaded gasoline, can be taken to generate energy for the process. A mixture of liquid gasolines is formulated to produce the desired octane number, an environmentally acceptable vapor pressure, and a mixture that, when burned in an internal combustion engine, produces a minimal amount of pollutants.
