Description

サスペンションアーム
 本発明は、車両向けのサスペンションアームに関する。
 本願は、2024年8月2日に、日本に出願された特願2024-127877号に基づき優先権を主張し、その内容をここに援用する。
 自動車車両の緩衝装置、例えばストラット式サスペンション、ダブルウィシュボーン式サスペンションなどにおいては、車輪とサスペンション部品と車体フレームとを相互に接続するサスペンションアームであるロアアームを有している。
 こうしたロアアームは、車両の走行中にタイヤが路面から受ける衝撃を緩和するサスペンションの土台となる部材であり、振動吸収、コーナリング時に生じる左右方向の応力、加減速時に生じる前後方向の応力を受け止める部材である(例えば、特許文献1、2を参照)。
 ロアアームは、一般的に、略L型のアーム部と、このアーム部の一端側でボールスタッドボルトに支持するボールジョイント部と、アーム部の湾曲部分から延び、サブフレームなどの車体に係合されるフロントブッシュ部と、リアブッシュ部と、を備えている。
 従来、ロアアームは、剛性の高い鋼材などで形成されていたが、近年の車両の軽量化に伴って、アルミニウム合金を用いた鋳造や鍛造によって成形されている。

 しかしながら、特許文献1や特許文献2に開示されたサスペンション部材では、アルミニウム合金によって形成した場合、特に車両後方に向けて大きな荷重が加わると、ねじれや座屈といった変形が生じるといった懸念があった。
 本発明は、このような技術的背景に鑑みてなされたものであって、車両後方に向かって大きな荷重が加えられても、ねじれ変形や座屈変形が生じることがなく、かつ、軽量化することが可能なサスペンション部材を提供することを目的とする。
 本発明は、上記課題を解決するため、以下の手段を提供する。
(1) L型に屈曲したアーム部と、前記アーム部の一端に形成されたボールジョイント部と、前記アーム部の他端に形成されたリアブッシュ部と、前記アーム部の屈曲部分から車体内側に突出するように形成されたフロントブッシュ部と、がアルミニウム合金によって一体形成された、車両向けのサスペンションアームであって、前記サスペンションアームを、前記アーム部の厚み方向に対して垂直な上面から平面視した時に、前記アーム部の幅が最大になる最大幅部分が前記屈曲部分にあり、前記最大幅部分から前記ボールジョイント部および前記リアブッシュ部に向かって、前記アーム部の幅がそれぞれ漸減し、前記サスペンションアームを、前記ボールジョイント部と前記リアブッシュ部とを結ぶ仮想直線および前記アーム部の厚み方向に対してそれぞれ垂直を成す側面方向から平面視した時に、前記アーム部は、前記フロントブッシュ部の形成位置から前記仮想直線に沿って±100mmの範囲内において厚みが最大になる最大厚み部を有し、前記ボールジョイント部との接続部分および前記リアブッシュ部との接続部分において前記最大厚み部よりも厚みが小さくなるように形成されている、サスペンションアーム。
(2)前記アーム部の延長方向に垂直な断面はH型または凹型を成す、(1)に記載のサスペンションアーム。
(3)前記アーム部の延長方向に垂直な断面における中央部分の両側で厚み方向に沿って突出した2つのリブ状部分は、互いに厚みが異なる、(3)に記載のサスペンションアーム。
(4)前記アーム部の延長方向に垂直な断面は矩形を成す、(1)に記載のサスペンションアーム。
(5)前記最大厚み部は、前記リアブッシュ部の形成位置から前記仮想直線に沿って±70mmの範囲内にある、(1)から(4)のいずれか一項に記載のサスペンションアーム。
(6)前記最大厚み部は、前記仮想直線に沿って所定幅で延びるように形成される、(1)から(5)のいずれか一項に記載のサスペンションアーム。
 本発明によれば、車両後方に向かって大きな荷重が加えられても、ねじれ変形や座屈変形が生じることがなく、かつ、軽量化することが可能なサスペンション部材を提供することが可能となる。

 以下、本発明の実施形態について、図面を参照して詳細に説明する。なお、以下の説明で用いる図面は、特徴をわかりやすくするために、便宜上特徴となる部分を拡大して示している場合があり、各構成要素の寸法比率などが実際と同じであるとは限らない。また、以下の説明において例示される材料、寸法等は一例であって、本発明はそれらに必ずしも限定されるものではなく、その効果を変更しない範囲で適宜変更して実施することが可能である。
 図1は、本発明の一実施形態のサスペンション部材であるロアアームを示す外観斜視図である。
 ロアアーム(サスペンション部材)10は、L型に屈曲した屈曲部分19を有するアーム部11と、このアーム部11の一端に形成されたボールジョイント部12と、アーム部11の他端に形成されたリアブッシュ部13と、アーム部11の屈曲部分19から車体内側に突出するように形成されたフロントブッシュ部14と、を有している。こうしたロアアーム10は、アルミニウム合金によって一体形成されていればよい。
 なお、図1は車両左側のロアアームを示した上面図であり、A点の大矢印の方向が車両後方となるが、車種によっては逆にA点の大矢印の方向が車両前方となるようにロアアームが取り付けられるものもある(B点がリヤブッシュ、C点がFRブッシュ)。その場合も大矢印方向の荷重に対してねじれ変形や座屈変形が生じることがなく、かつ、軽量化することが可能なサスペンション部材を提供することを目的とする。また、大矢印の方向はA,B,C点を結んだ平面とは聊か角度が付いた方向とする。
 図2に示すように、アーム部11は、延長方向に垂直な断面がH型を成している。以下の説明では、こうしたアーム部11における幅方向WDの両側で、厚み方向HDに沿ってそれぞれ突出する部分をリブ18,18と称する。
 なお、本実施形態では、こうしたリブ18,18の厚み方向HDに沿った高さ、即ち、後述するアーム部11の厚みHは、一方の側のリブ18と他方の側のリブ18とで同一に形成されているが、互いに異なるように形成することもできる。
 特に限定されないが、2つのリブの厚みが互いに異なるように形成する場合、一方の側のリブ18の厚みをH1とし、他方の側のリブ18をH2としたとき、H1/H2は1.2以上10以下であってもよく、1.5以上8以下であってもよく、2以上6以下であってもよい。
 また、図3に示すように、アーム部11は、延長方向に垂直な断面が凹型に形成されていても良い。また、アーム部11は、延長方向に垂直な断面が矩形に形成されていても良い。アーム部11の断面を矩形に形成すれば、全体の質量は増加するものの、断面H型や断面凹型と比べて、より強度を増すことができる。
 ボールジョイント部12は、例えば、半球状の底部を有する有底円筒形を成し、車両のサスペンションとして用いた際に、内部に車両のボールスタッドが回動自在に挿入される。これにより、ボールジョイント部12は、車輪の支持体に対して回動自在に接続される。
 リアブッシュ部13は、中空円筒形を成している。こうしたリアブッシュ部13は、例えば、サブフレームに係合される。
 フロントブッシュ部14は、アーム部11の屈曲部分19の外側19aから外方に突出する棒状部分14aと、この棒状部分14aの先端に形成された中空円筒形の円筒部分14bとからなる。こうしたフロントブッシュ部14は、例えば、サブフレームに係合される。
 なお、以下の説明では、図1に示すボールジョイント部12のA点、フロントブッシュ部14のB点、およびリアブッシュ部13のC点は、それぞれの部材の円筒中心軸の中央を示す点とする。また、ボールジョイント部12とリアブッシュ部13とを結ぶ仮想直線Qは、上述したA点とC点とを結ぶ直線とする。
 図4は、サスペンションアームを、アーム部の厚み方向に対して垂直な上面から平面視した時の平面図である。図4に示す平面図において、アーム部11は、延長方向に沿った中心線Lに対して直角なアーム部11の全幅WAが、屈曲部分19におけるフロントブッシュ部14の突出部分付近で最大になり(最大幅部分)、この最大幅部分からボールジョイント部12およびリアブッシュ部13にそれぞれ向かうほど、アーム部11の全幅WAが漸減するように形成されている。
 図5は、サスペンションアームを、ボールジョイント部とリアブッシュ部とを結ぶ仮想直線およびアーム部の厚み方向に対してそれぞれ垂直を成す側面方向から平面視した時の平面図である。即ち、図5は、図1における仮想直線Qを含み、かつアーム部11の厚み方向HDに平行な面からロアアーム(サスペンション部材)10を平面視した平面図である。
 本実施形態のロアアーム(サスペンション部材)10は、図5において、厚み方向HDに沿ったアーム部11の厚みH(即ち、図2におけるリブ18の高さ)は、仮想直線Q上におけるフロントブッシュ部14の形成位置であるB点から、この仮想直線Qに沿って±100mm、本実施形態では±70mmの範囲内に相当する位置において、厚みHが最大になる最大厚み部Hmを有している。
 なお、本実施形態では、図5における仮想直線Qに沿ったB点からA点方向を-(マイナス)、B点からC点方向を+(プラス)と表記している。
 そして、アーム部11は、この最大厚み部Hmから、ボールジョイント部12との接続部分、およびリアブッシュ部13との接続部分において、それぞれアーム部11の厚みHs1,Hs2が最大厚み部Hmよりも厚みが小さくなるように形成されている。
 即ち、本実施形態のロアアーム(サスペンション部材)10では、アーム部11の厚みHは、最大厚み部Hmにおいて最大になり、この最大厚み部Hmからボールジョイント部12との接続部分、およびリアブッシュ部13との接続部分に向かって、それぞれアーム部11の厚みHが漸減するように形成されている。
 なお、こうしたロアアーム(サスペンション部材)10のアーム部11の厚みHは、最大厚み部Hmからアーム部11の一端側および他端側に向けて漸減する構成以外にも、B点から仮想直線Qに沿って±100mmの範囲内において、最大厚み部Hmを仮想直線Qに沿った所定幅で形成したり、最大厚み部Hmを2か所設け、この2か所の最大厚み部Hmの間のアーム部11の厚みHを、最大厚み部Hmよりも減じるように形成することもできる。
 また、アーム部11の厚みHは、最大厚み部Hmからアーム部11の一端側および他端側に向けて一様に減じる以外にも、厚みHを非線形で減少させることもできる。
 以上の様な構成の本実施形態のロアアーム(サスペンション部材)10によれば、ボールジョイント部12のA点とリアブッシュ部13のC点とを結ぶ仮想直線Q上のフロントブッシュ部の形成(相当)位置から、仮想直線Qに沿って±100mmの範囲内において厚みが最大になる最大厚み部Hmを形成し、ボールジョイント部12との接続部分およびリアブッシュ部13との接続部分において最大厚み部よりもそれぞれ厚みが小さくなるようにアーム部11を形成することによって、ロアアーム(サスペンション部材)10の質量を増加させることなく、図1に示す後方荷重Fに対する最大変形荷重を高めることが可能になる。
 以上、本発明の実施形態を説明したが、こうした実施形態は、例として提示したものであり、発明の範囲を限定することは意図していない。こうした実施形態は、その他の様々な形態で実施されることが可能であり、発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲で、種々の省略、置き換え、変更を行うことができる。これら実施形態やその変形は、発明の範囲や要旨に含まれると同様に、特許請求の範囲に記載された発明とその均等の範囲に含まれるものである。
 以下、本発明のロアアーム(サスペンション部材)のいくつかの実施例を示す。
(検証例1)
 本発明の実施形態として説明した図1に示すロアアーム(サスペンション部材)のように、図5のように平面視した際に、アーム部11の厚みHを変化させた本発明例1と、図6に示すように、図5と同様の視点で平面視した際に、アーム部11の厚みHを一様にした比較例1とを用いた。
 図2に示す断面H型のアーム部11の断面における各部の寸法を表1に示す。なお、表1におけるH,hは比較例1の場合である。また、W1は、アーム部11の延長方向に沿って変化している範囲の数値である。また、本発明例1におけるH,hを表2に示す。
 上述した比較例1のロアアームの鍛造品質量は2.208kg、本発明例1の鍛造品質量は2.183kgであった。そして、比較例1、本発明例1のそれぞれのロアアームの後方荷重F(図1を参照)に対する最大変形荷重を測定した。その結果、比較例1はF=29.94(kN)であったのに対して、本発明例1はF=34.04(kN)に達した。
 こうした結果から、本発明例1のロアアームは、比較例1のロアアームよりも鍛造品質量が25g軽量化されたにもかかわらず、最大変形荷重は13.7%増加した。よって、図5に示す仮想直線Qに沿ってB点から±100mmの範囲で最大厚み部Hmを形成し、ここからA点やC点に向かうにつれて厚みHを漸減させた形状のアーム部を形成することで、軽量化と最大変形荷重とを達成したロアアーム(サスペンション部材)が得られることを確認した。
(検証例2)
 本発明の実施形態として説明した図1に示すロアアーム(サスペンション部材)において、図5のように平面視した際に、最大厚み部Hmの位置をB点からどの程度離すと、±0mm(B点)に対する荷重比を最大にできるかを検証した。
 この結果を表3に示す。なお、表3においては、図5における仮想直線Qに沿ったB点からA点方向を-(マイナス)、B点からC点方向を+(プラス)と表記している。また、この表3の結果に基づいた最大厚み部のB点からの距離と荷重比との関係を示すグラフを図7に示す。
 表3、図7に示す結果によれば、B点からA点方向に向かう-28.3mmの位置に最大厚み部Hmを設定することによって、±0mm(B点)に対する最大変形荷重比が1.0132と最大になった。なお、表3に示す範囲で最大厚み部Hmの位置を変化させても、ロアアームの鍛造品質量は殆ど変化が無かった。
(検証例3)
 本発明の実施形態として説明した図1に示すロアアーム(サスペンション部材)において、図2に示す断面H型のアーム部11のリブ18の幅W=15mmにした時に、最大厚み部Hmの位置をB点からどの程度離すと最大変形荷重を最大にできるかを検証した。この検証例3におけるH,h(図2を参照)を表4に示す。そして、検証例3の結果を表5に示す。なお、表5においては、図5における仮想直線Qに沿ったB点からA点方向を-(マイナス)、B点からC点方向を+(プラス)と表記している。また、この表5の結果に基づいた最大厚み部のB点からの距離と荷重比との関係を示すグラフを図8に示す。
 表5、図8に示す結果によれば、B点からA点方向に向かう-48.3mm~-28.3mmの位置に最大厚み部Hmを設定することによって、±0mm(B点)に対する最大変形荷重比が1.02と最大になった。なお、表5に示す範囲で最大厚み部Hmの位置を変化させても、ロアアームの鍛造品質量は殆ど変化が無かった。
(検証例4)
 本発明の実施形態として説明した図1に示すロアアーム(サスペンション部材)において、図2に示す断面H型のアーム部11のリブ18の幅W=10mmとして、A点-C点、B点-C点の距離を長くにした時に、最大厚み部Hmの位置をB点からどの程度離すと最大変形荷重を最大にできるかを検証した。この検証例4におけるH,h(図2を参照)を表6に示す。そして、検証例4の結果を表7に示す。なお、表7においては、図5における仮想直線Qに沿ったB点からA点方向を-(マイナス)、B点からC点方向を+(プラス)と表記している。また、この表7の結果に基づいた最大厚み部のB点からの距離と荷重比との関係を示すグラフを図9に示す。
 表7、図9に示す結果によれば、B点からA点方向に向かう-16.4mmの位置に最大厚み部Hmを設定することによって、±0mm(B点)に対する最大変形荷重比が1.0034と最大になった。なお、表7に示す範囲で最大厚み部Hmの位置を変化させても、ロアアームの鍛造品質量は殆ど変化が無かった。
(検証例5)
 本発明の実施形態として説明した図1に示すロアアーム(サスペンション部材)において、フロントブッシュ部14の棒状部分14aの長さを短くにした時に、最大厚み部Hmの位置をB点からどの程度離すと最大変形荷重(応力耐性)を最大にできるかを検証した。この検証例5におけるH,h(図2を参照)を表8に示す。そして、検証例5の結果を表9に示す。なお、表9においては、図5における仮想直線Qに沿ったB点からA点方向を-(マイナス)、B点からC点方向を+(プラス)と表記している。また、この表9の結果に基づいた最大厚み部のB点からの距離と荷重比との関係を示すグラフを図10に示す。
 表9、図10に示す結果によれば、B点からA点方向に向かう+12.785mmの位置に最大厚み部Hmを設定することによって、±0mm(B点)に対する最大変形荷重比が1.0026と最大になった。なお、表9に示す範囲で最大厚み部Hmの位置を変化させても、ロアアームの鍛造品質量は殆ど変化が無かった。
(検証例6)
 図11、図12に示すように、ロアアームのアーム部において、B点から±100mmの範囲内に2か所の最大厚み部を形成した場合に、最大厚み部を1か所形成(B点から-38.3mmの位置)した場合に対して、最大変形荷重の比を測定した。図11のロアアームでは、図5に示すような平面視でB点から+38.3mmと-38.3mmの位置に最大厚み部Hm1,Hm2をそれぞれ形成した。また、図12のロアアームでは、図5に示すような平面視でB点から+88.3mmと-88.3mmの位置に最大厚み部Hm1,Hm2をそれぞれ形成した。この検証例6の結果を表10に示す。なお、表10においては、図5における仮想直線Qに沿ったB点からA点方向を-(マイナス)、B点からC点方向を+(プラス)と表記している。
 表10に示す結果によれば、2か所の最大厚み部を形成した場合、最大厚み部を1か所とした場合と比較して、図11、図12のいずれの場合でも荷重比が低くなった。特に、B点から最大厚み部Hm1,Hm2までの距離が短い図11では、厚み変化が急になり、荷重比は0.8程度まで低下した。
(検証例7)
 ロアアームのアーム部において、B点から-18.3mmの位置に最大厚み部を形成した場合、およびこの位置から最大厚み部を±10mm,±20mm,±30mm,±40mmの範囲まで保って最大厚み部を所定幅(フラット範囲)で形成した場合、およびB点から+20mmの位置に最大厚み部を形成して±10mmの範囲まで最大厚み部を所定幅(フラット範囲)で形成した場合、において、最大変形荷重の比を測定した。この検証例7の結果を表11に示す。なお、表11においては、図5における仮想直線Qに沿ったB点からA点方向を-(マイナス)、B点からC点方向を+(プラス)と表記している。
 表11に示す結果によれば、アーム部の最大厚み部を所定幅(フラット範囲)で形成した場合、荷重比はいずれも僅かに向上した。
 本発明によると、車両後方に向かって大きな荷重が加えられても、ねじれ変形や座屈変形が生じることがなく、かつ、軽量化することが可能なサスペンション部材を提供することが可能となる。

Claims (6)

  1.  L型に屈曲したアーム部と、前記アーム部の一端に形成されたボールジョイント部と、前記アーム部の他端に形成されたリアブッシュ部と、前記アーム部の屈曲部分から車体内側に突出するように形成されたフロントブッシュ部と、がアルミニウム合金によって一体形成された、車両向けのサスペンションアームであって、
     前記サスペンションアームを、前記アーム部の厚み方向に対して垂直な上面から平面視した時に、前記アーム部の幅が最大になる最大幅部分が前記屈曲部分にあり、前記最大幅部分から前記ボールジョイント部および前記リアブッシュ部に向かって、前記アーム部の幅がそれぞれ漸減し、
     前記サスペンションアームを、前記ボールジョイント部と前記リアブッシュ部とを結ぶ仮想直線および前記アーム部の厚み方向に対してそれぞれ垂直を成す側面方向から平面視した時に、前記アーム部は、前記フロントブッシュ部の形成位置から前記仮想直線に沿って±100mmの範囲内において厚みが最大になる最大厚み部を有し、前記ボールジョイント部との接続部分および前記リアブッシュ部との接続部分において前記最大厚み部よりも厚みが小さくなるように形成されている、サスペンションアーム。
  2.  前記アーム部の延長方向に垂直な断面はH型または凹型を成す、請求項1に記載のサスペンションアーム。
  3.  前記アーム部の延長方向に垂直な断面における中央部分の両側で厚み方向に沿って突出した2つのリブ状部分は、互いに厚みが異なる、請求項2に記載のサスペンションアーム。
  4.  前記アーム部の延長方向に垂直な断面は矩形を成す、請求項1に記載のサスペンションアーム。
  5.  前記最大厚み部は、前記リアブッシュ部の形成位置から前記仮想直線に沿って±70mmの範囲内にある、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のサスペンションアーム。
  6.  前記最大厚み部は、前記仮想直線に沿って所定幅で延びるように形成される、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のサスペンションアーム。
