Abstract
본 개시의 일 예에 따르면 디스플레이 모듈은 본 개시의 사상에 따른 디스플레이 모듈은, 전방으로 광을 조사하는 복수의 무기 발광 소자와, 복수의 무기 발광 소자가 실장되는 실장면을 포함하는 기판과, 기판의 실장면을 전방에서 커버하도록 마련되는 전면 커버와, 전면 커버와 복수의 무기 발광 소자 사이에 배치되는 미러 레이어와, 미러 레이어와 복수의 무기 발광 소자 사이에 배치되고 복수의 무기 발광 소자에서 조사되는 광의 적어도 일부를 반사시키도록 마련되는 반사 레이어와, 반사 레이어와 실장면 사이에 배치되고 반사 레이어를 실장면에 접착시키도록 마련되는 접착 레이어를 포함하고, 반사 레이어는 접착 레이어와의 굴절률 차이에 따라 복수의 무기 발광 소자에서 조사되는 광의 적어도 일부를 반사시키도록 마련된다.
Description
본 발명은 자발광인 무기 발광 소자를 기판 상에 실장한 모듈들을 결합하여 영상을 표시하는 디스플레이 장치에 관한 것이다.
디스플레이 장치는 문자, 도형 등의 데이터 정보 및 영상 등을 시각적으로 표시하는 출력 장치의 일종이다.
일반적으로 디스플레이 장치로 백라이트가 필요한 액정 패널(Liquid crystal panel)이나, 전류에 반응하여 자체적으로 빛을 발산하는 유기 화합물의 필름으로 이루어진OLED(Organic Light-Emitting Diode) 패널이 주로 사용되었다. 그러나, 액정 패널은 반응 시간이 늦고 전력 소모가 크며, 자체 발광하지 못하고 백라이트가 필요로 하여 컴팩트화가 어렵다는 문제가 있다. 또한, OLED 패널은 스스로 발광하기 때문에 백라이트가 필요 없고, 두께를 얇게 만들 수 있으나, 같은 화면을 오랜 시간 표시하면, 서브 픽셀의 수명이 다하면서 화면이 바뀌어도 이전 화면이 특정 부분이 그대로 남아있는 번인(Burn-in, 열화) 현상에 취약하다. 이에 따라 이들을 대체할 새로운 패널로서 기판에 무기 발광 소자를 실장하고 무기 발광 소자 자체를 그대로 픽셀로 사용하는 마이크로 발광 다이오드(마이크로LED 또는 μLED) 패널이 연구되고 있다.
마이크로 발광 다이오드 디스플레이 패널(이하, 마이크로 엘이디 패널)은 평판 디스플레이 패널 중 하나로 각각 100 마이크로미터 이하인 복 수의 무기 발광 다이오드(inorganic LED)로 구성되어 있다.
이러한 엘이디 패널도 자체 발광 소자이지만 무기물 발광 소자로 OLED의 번인 현상은 발생되지 않으며, 휘도, 해상도, 소비 전력, 내구성이 우수하다.
백라이트가 필요한 액정 디스플레이(LCD) 패널에 비해 마이크로LED 디스플레이 패널은 더 나은 대비, 응답 시간 및 에너지 효율을 제공한다. 유기발광다이오드(organic LED)와 무기 발광 소자인 마이크로LED는 모두 에너지 효율이 좋지만 마이크로LED는 OLED보다 밝기, 발광효율, 수명이 길다.
또한, 엘이디를 회로 기판 상에 픽셀 단위로 배열함으로써 기판 단위의 디스플레이 모듈화 제작이 가능하며, 소비자의 주문에 맞추어 다양한 해상도 및 화면 사이즈로 제작이 용이하다.
본 개시의 일 측면은 미러 디스플레이를 제공하는 디스플레이 모듈 및 이를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치에 관한 것으로, 미러 디스플레이에서 표시되는 화상의 선명도를 향상시키는 디스플레이 모듈 및 이를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치를 제공한다.
본 문서에서 이루고자 하는 기술적 과제는 이상에서 언급한 기술적 과제로 제한되지 않으며, 언급되지 않은 또 다른 기술적 과제들은 아래의 기재로부터 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에게 명확하게 이해될 수 있을 것이다.
본 개시의 사상에 따른 디스플레이 모듈은, 전방으로 광을 조사하는 복수의 무기 발광 소자와, 복수의 무기 발광 소자가 실장되는 실장면을 포함하는 기판과, 기판의 실장면을 전방에서 커버하도록 마련되는 전면 커버와, 전면 커버와 복수의 무기 발광 소자 사이에 배치되는 미러 레이어와, 미러 레이어와 복수의 무기 발광 소자 사이에 배치되고 복수의 무기 발광 소자에서 조사되는 광의 적어도 일부를 반사시키도록 마련되는 반사 레이어와, 반사 레이어와 실장면 사이에 배치되고 반사 레이어를 실장면에 접착시키도록 마련되는 접착 레이어를 포함하고, 반사 레이어는 접착 레이어와의 굴절률 차이에 따라 복수의 무기 발광 소자에서 조사되는 광의 적어도 일부를 반사시키도록 마련된다.
본 개시의 사상에 따른 디스플레이 모듈 및 이를 포함하는 디스플레이 장치는 복수의 무기 발광 소자에서 조사되는 광의 적어도 일부를 반사시키도록 마련되는 반사 레이어를 통해 복수의 무기 발광 소자에서 발생되는 광들의 혼색을 최소화할 수 있다.

도면에서 도시된 복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50)을 비롯한 디스플레이 장치(1)의 일부 구성들은 수 μm 내지 수백 μm 크기를 가지는 마이크로 단위의 구성으로 설명의 편의상 일부 구성들(복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50), 이방성 도전층(47) 등)의 스케일을 과장하여 도시하였다.
디스플레이 장치(1)는 정보, 자료, 데이터 등을 문자, 도형, 그래프, 영상 등으로 표시하여 주는 장치로서, TV, PC, 모바일, 디지털 사이니지(singage) 등이 디스플레이 장치(1)로 구현될 수 있다.
디스플레이 장치(1)는 영상을 표시하는 디스플레이 모듈(10)을 포함할 수있다.
디스플레이 장치(1)는 도 1에 도시된 바와 같이 하나의 디스플레이 모듈(10)에 의해 형성되는 화면(11)에서 영상이 표시되도록 마련될 수 있으나, 이에 한정되지 않고 복수의 디스플레이 모듈이 서로 인접하도록 상하 좌우로 배열되어 하나의 화면을 형성하도록 마련될 수 있다. 복수의 디스플레이 모듈들은 M * N 의 매트릭스 형태로 배열될 수 있다. 본 실시예에서 복수의 디스플레이 모듈들(30A-30P)은 16개가 마련되고, 4 * 4 의 매트릭스 형태로 배열되고 있으나, 복수의 디스플레이 모듈들(30A-30P)의 개수 및 배열 방식에 제한은 없다.
디스플레이 장치(1)는 디스플레이 모듈(10)에 전원을 공급하는 전원 공급 장치를 포함할 수 있다.
디스플레이 장치(1)는 디스플레이 모듈(10)의 전체적인 동작을 제어하는 메인 보드를 포함할 수 있다.
디스플레이 장치(1)는 디스플레이 모듈(10)을 지지하는 프레임을 포함할 수 있다.
디스플레이 장치(1)는 디스플레이 모듈(10)을 커버하는 커버를 포함할 수 있다.
디스플레이 모듈(10)은 사각형(Quadrangle type)으로 형성될 수 있다. 디스플레이 모듈(10)은 직사각형(Rectangle type) 형상 또는 정사각형(Square type) 형상으로 마련될 수 있다.
디스플레이 모듈(10)은 기판(40)과, 기판(40) 위에 실장된 복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50)을 포함할 수 있다. 복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50)은 제1 방향(X)으로 향하는 기판(40)의 실장면(41)에 실장될 수 있다. 도 2 및 도 3에서는 설명의 편의를 위해 기판(40)의 제1 방향(X)으로의 두께를 과장되게 두껍게 도시하였다.
기판(40)은 사각형(Quadrangle type)으로 형성될 수 있다. 상술한 바와 같이 디스플레이 모듈(10)은 사각형 형상으로 마련될 수 있는데 기판(40)은 이와 대응되도록 사각형으로 형성될 수 있다. 기판(40)은 직사각형(Rectangle type) 형상 또는 정사각형(Square type) 형상으로 마련될 수 있다.
기판(40)은 기판 바디(42)와, 기판 바디(42)의 일면을 형성하는 실장면(41)과 기판 바디(42)의 타면을 형성하고 실장면(41)과 반대측에 배치되는 후면(43) 및 실장면(41)과 후면(43) 사이에 배치되는 측면(44)을 포함할 수 있다. 실장면(41)과 측면(45) 사이 및 후면(43)과 측면(45) 사이는 경사지게 챔퍼(chamfer) 형상으로 마련될 수 있다.
기판(40)은 무기 발광 소자들(50)을 구동하도록 기판 바디(42)에 상에 형성되는 TFT층(Thin Film Transistor, 44)을 포함할 수 있다. 기판 바디(42)는 유리 기판(glass substrate)을 포함할 수 있다. 즉, 기판(40)은 COG(Chip on Glass) 타입의 기판을 포함할 수 있다. 기판(40)은 무기 발광 소자들(50)이 TFT층(44)과 전기적으로 연결되도록 마련되는 제1, 제2패드 전극(44a, 44b)가 형성될 수 있다.
TFT층(44)을 구성하는 TFT(Thin Film Transistor)는 특정 구조나 타입으로 한정되지 않고, 다양한 실시예로 구성될 수 있다. 즉, 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 TFT층(44)의 TFT는 LTPS(Low Temperature Poly Silicon) TFT, oxide TFT, Si(poly silicon, 또는 a-silicon) TFT 뿐만 아니라, 유기 TFT, 그래핀 TFT 등으로도 구현될 수 있다.
또한 TFT층(44)은 기판(40)의 기판 바디(42)이 실리콘 웨이퍼로 마련될 시 CMOS(Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) 타입 또는 n-type MOSFET 또는 p-type MOSFET 트랜지스터로 대체될 수 있다.
복수의 무기 발광 소자(50)는 무기물(無機物) 재질로 형성되며, 가로, 세로 및 높이가 각각 수 μm 내지 수십 μm 크기를 갖는 무기 발광 소자를 포함할 수 있다. 마이크로 무기 발광 소자는 가로, 세로, 및 높이 중 단변의 길이가 100μm 이하의 크기일 수 있다. 즉, 무기 발광 소자(50)는 사파이어 또는 실리콘 웨이퍼에서 픽업되어 직접 기판(40) 위에 직접 전사될 수 있다. 복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50)은 정전 헤드(Electrostatic Head)를 사용하는 정전기 방식 또는 PDMS 나 실리콘 등의 탄성이 있는 고분자 물질을 헤드로 사용하는 스탬프 방식 등을 통해 픽업 및 이송될 수 있다.
복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50)은 n형 반도체(58a), 활성층(58c), p형 반도체(58b), 제1 컨택 전극(57a), 제2 컨택 전극(57b)을 포함하는 발광 구조물일 수 있다.
도면에는 도시되지 않았으나 제1 컨택 전극(57a) 중 어느 하나는 제2 컨택 전극(57b) n형 반도체(58a)와 전기적으로 연결되고 다른 하나는 p형 반도체(58b)와 전기적으로 연결되도록 마련될 수 있다.
제1컨택 전극(57a) 및 제2컨택 전극(57b)은 수평적으로 배치되며 같은 방향(발광 방향의 반대 방향)을 향해 배치되는 플립칩(Flip chip) 형태일 수 있다.
무기 발광 소자(50)는 실장면(41)에 실장될 시 제1 방향(X)을 향해 배치되는 발광면(54), 측면(55), 발광면(54)의 반대측에 배치되는 바닥면(56)을 갖고, 제1컨택 전극(57a)과, 제2컨택 전극(57b)은 바닥면(56)에 형성될 수 있다.
즉, 무기 발광 소자(50)의 컨택 전극(57a, 57b)은 발광면(54)의 반대측에 배치되고 이에 따라 광이 조사되는 방향의 반대측에 배치될 수 있다.
컨택 전극(57a, 57b)은 실장면(41)과 마주 보게 배치되고, TFT 층(43)과 전기적으로 연결되도록 마련되고, 컨택 전극(57a, 57b)이 배치되는 방향과 반대 방향으로 광을 조사하는 발광면(54)이 배치될 수 있다.
따라서 활성층(58c)에서 발생되는 광이 발광면(54)을 통해 제1 방향(X)으로 조사될 시, 광은 제1컨택 전극(57a) 또는 제2컨택 전극(57b)의 간섭 없이 제1 방향(X)을 향해 조사될 수 있다.
즉 제1 방향(X)은 발광면(54)이 광을 조사하도록 배치되는 방향으로 정의될 수 있다.
제1컨택 전극(57a) 및 제2컨택 전극(57b)은 기판(40)의 실장면(41) 측에 형성된 제1패드 전극(44a) 및 제2패드 전극(44b)에 각각 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
무기 발광 소자(50)는 이방성 도전층(47) 또는 솔더와 같은 접합 구성을 통해 직접 패드 전극(44a, 44b)에 연결될 수 있다.
기판(40) 위에는 컨택 전극(57a, 57b)과 패드 전극(44a, 44b)의 전기적 접합을 매개하도록 이방성 도전층(47)이 형성될 수 있다. 이방성 도전층(47)은 이방성 도전 접착제가 보호용 필름 위에 부착된 것으로서 도전성 볼(47a)이 접착성 수지에 산포된 구조를 가질 수 있다. 도전성 볼(47a)은 얇은 절연막으로 둘러싸인 도전성 구체로서 압력에 의해 절연막이 깨지면서 도체와 도체를 서로 전기적으로 접속시킬 수 있다.
이방성 도전층(47)은 필름 형태의 이방성 도전 필름(ACF, Anisotropic Conductive Film)과, 페이스트 형태의 이방성 도전 페이스트(ACP, Anisotropic Conductive Paste)를 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 실시예에서는 이방성 도전층(47)은 이방성 도전 필름으로 마련될 수 있다.
따라서, 복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50)을 기판(40) 위에 실장할 시에 이방성 도전층(47)에 압력이 가해지면 도전성 볼(47a)의 절연막이 깨져서 무기 발광 소자(50)의 컨택 전극(57a, 57b)과, 기판(40)의 패드 전극(44a, 44b)이 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
다만, 도면에는 도시되지 않았으나 복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50)은 이방성 도전층(47) 대신에 솔더(미도시)를 통해 기판(40)에 실장될 수도 있다. 무기 발광 소자(50)가 기판(40) 상에 정렬된 후에 리플로우 공정을 거쳐서 무기 발광 소자(50)가 기판(40)에 접합될 수 있다.
복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50)은 적색(Red) 발광 소자(51)와, 녹색(Green) 발광 소자(52)와, 청색(Blue) 발광 소자(53)를 포함할 수 있으며, 발광 소자들(50)은 일련의 적색(Red) 발광 소자(51)와, 녹색(Green) 발광 소자(52)와, 청색(Blue) 발광 소자(53)를 하나의 단위로 하여 기판(40)의 실장면(41) 상에 실장될 수 있다. 일련의 적색(Red) 발광 소자(51)와, 녹색(Green) 발광 소자(52)와, 청색(Blue) 발광 소자(53)는 하나의 픽셀(pixel)을 형성할 수 있다. 이때, 적색(Red) 발광 소자(51)와, 녹색(Green) 발광 소자(52)와, 청색(Blue) 발광 소자(53)는 각각 서브 픽셀(sub pixel)을 형성할 수 있다.
적색(Red) 발광 소자(51)와, 녹색(Green) 발광 소자(52)와, 청색(Blue) 발광 소자(53)는 본 발명의 실시예와 같이 제2 방향(Y) 또는 제3 방향(Z)으로 일렬로 소정 간격으로 배치될 수도 있고, 제2 방향(Y)과 제3 방향(Z)에 의해 형성되는 2차원의 면에서 삼각형 형태 등 이와 다른 형태로도 배치될 수도 있다.
기판(40)은 외광을 흡수하여 콘트라스트를 향상시키도록 광흡수층(light absorbing layer)(44c)을 포함할 수 있다. 광흡수층(44c)은 기판(40)의 전체 실장면(41) 측에 형성될 수 있다. 광흡수층(44c)은 TFT층(43)과 이방성 도전층(47) 사이에 형성될 수 있다. 다만, 이에 한정되지 않고 광흡수층(44c)은 이방성 도전층(47)이 광흡수층(44c)의 기능을 수행할 수 있을 경우 생략될 수 있다.
이방성 도전층(47)은 검은색 계열의 색을 가질 수 있다. 광흡수층(44c)의 역할을 수행하거나 광흡수층(44c)의 역할을 보완하기 위함이다. 또한 후술하겠으나 이방성 도전층(47)은 검은색 계열로 마련되어 후술할 반사 레이어()에서 반사되는 광이 흡수되도록 마련될 수 있다.
복수의 무기 발광 소자(50)는 실장면(41) 상에 형성되는 픽셀 구동 배선(미도시)과 기판(40)의 측면(45)을 통해 연장되고 픽셀 구동 배선(미도시)으로 형성되는 전면 배선층(미도시)과 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
전면 배선층(미도시)은 이방선 전도층(47)의 하측에 형성될 수 있다. 전면 배선층(미도시)은 기판(40)의 측면(45) 상에 형성되는 측면 배선(46)과 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 측면 배선(46)은 박막형태로 마련될 수 있다. 측면 배선(46)은 측면 배선(46)이 외부로 노출될 시 발생될 수 있는 파손을 방지하기 위해 측면 배선(46)을 감싸는 코팅 부재를 포함할 수 있다. 측면 배선(46)은 측면(45)을 따라 기판(40)의 후면(43)으로 연장될 수 있다.
측면 배선(46)은 기판(40)의 측면(45)을 따라 연장되고 후면(43) 상에 형성되는 배면 배선층(43b)과 연결될 수 있다. 자세하게는 측면 배선(46)은 배면 배선층(43c)과 측면 배선(46)이 전기적으로 연결되도록 마련되는 배면 패드에 연결될 수 있다. 배면 패드는 기판(41)의 후면(43)의 테두리에 형성될 수 있다.
기판(40)의 배면이 향하는 방향으로 배면 배선층(43b) 상에는 배면 배선층(43b)을 커버하는 절연층(43c)이 형성될 수 있다.
즉, 복수의 무기 발광 소자(50)는 순차적으로 전면 배선층(미도시)과 측면 배선(46)과 배면 배선층(43b)과 순차적으로 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
본 실시예에서, 블랙 매트릭스(48)는은 일련의 적색(Red) 발광 소자(51)와, 녹색(Green) 발광 소자(52)와, 청색(Blue) 발광 소자(53)에 의해 형성되는 픽셀들(pixel)의 사이에 배치되도록 형성되고 있다. 다만, 본 실시예와 달리 서브 픽셀들인 발광 소자들(51, 52, 53) 각각을 구획하도록 더욱 세밀하게 형성될 수도 있다.
블랙 매트릭스(48)는 픽셀들(pixel)의 사이에 배치되도록 가로 패턴과 세로 패턴을 갖는 격자 형태로 형성될 수 있다.
블랙 매트릭스(48)는 잉크젯(ink-jet) 공정을 통해 광흡수 잉크를 이방성 도전층(47) 상에 도포한 후에 경화시킴으로써 형성하거나, 이방성 도전층(47)에 광흡수 필름을 코팅하여 형성할 수 있다.
즉, 실장면(41)에 전체적으로 형성되는 이방성 도전층(47)에 있어서 복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50)이 실장되지 않는 복수의 복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50) 사이에 블랙 매트릭스(48)가 형성될 수 있다.
디스플레이 모듈(10)은 디스플레이 모듈(10)의 실장면(41)을 커버하도록 제1 방향(X)으로 실장면(41) 상에 배치되는 전면 커버(50)를 포함할 수 있다.
전면 커버(50)는 기판(40)을 커버하도록 마련되어 외력이나 외부의 수분으로부터 기판(40)을 보호할 수 있다.
전면 커버(50)는 디스플레이 모듈(10)의 화면(11) 상에 배치되고 화면(11)에서 표시되는 화상이 전면 커버(50)를 통해 전방으로 표시되도록 마련될 수 있다.
일 예로 전면 커버(50)는 글래스 재질로 형성될 수 있다.
일 예로 전면 커버(50)의 광학적 성능을 가지는 기능성 레이어들이 적층되어 형성될 수 있다.
디스플레이 모듈(10)은 전면 커버(50)를 투과한 외부의 광을 반사하여 화면(11)이 거울과 같은 역할을 수행하도록 마련되는 미러 레이어(60)를 포함할 수 있다.
미러 레이어(60)에 의해 디스플레이 모듈(10)이 구동되지 않을 시 화면(11)은 거울과 같이 외부에서 입사되는 광을 반사시키도록 마련될 수 있다.
미러 레이어(60)는 전면 커버(50)의 후면에 패터닝되도록 마련될 수 있다.
일 예로 미러 레이어(60)는 금속 재질로 마련될 수 있다.
일 예로 미러 레이어(60)는 반사율이 큰 재질로 마련될 수 있다.
미러 레이어(60)는 디스플레이 모듈(20)이 구동될 시 복수의 무기 발광 소자(50)에서 조사되는 광이 미러 레이어(60)를 관통하여 전방으로 방사되도록 마련되는 관통홀(61,62,63)을 포함할 수 있다.
관통홀(61,62,63)은 적색 발광 소자(51)와 제1 방향(X)으로 대응되는 위치에 배치되는 제1 관통홀(61)과, 녹색 발광 소자(52)와 제1 방향(X)으로 대응되는 위치에 배치되는 제2 관통홀(62)과, 청색 발광 소자(53)와 제1 방향(X)으로 대응되는 위치에 배치되는 제3 관통홀(63)을 포함할 수 있다.
복수의 무기 발광 소자(50)에서 조사되는 광은 광통홀(61,62,63)을 통과하여 전방으로 방사되어 화상을 전방을 향해 표시할 수 있다. 이에 따라 디스플레이 모듈(20)이 구동되지 않을 시에는 화면(11)은 거울로 사용될 수 있고, 디스플레이 모듈(20)이 구동될 시 화면(11)에는 화상이 표시될 수 있다.
디스플레이 모듈(10)은 미러 레이어(60)와 복수의 무기 발광 소자(50) 사이에 배치되고 복수의 무기 발광 소자(50)에서 조사되는 광의 적어도 일부를 실장면(41) 방향으로 반사시키도록 마련되는 반사 레이어(100)를 포함할 수 있다.
후술하겠으나 반사 레이어(100)는 복수의 무기 발광 소자(50) 중 각각의 발광 소자와 대응되지 않는 관통홀로 조사되는 광을 반사시켜 화면(11)에서 화상이 혼색되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
반사 레이어(100)는 미러 레이어(60)가 패터닝된 전면 커버(50)의 후면과 접하도록 마련될 수 있다.
전면 커버(50)와 반사 레이어(100)는 서로 접합된 상태에서 기판(40)과 접하도록 마련될 수 있다. 다만 이에 한정되지 않고 반사 레이어(100)가 기판(40)에 접착된 상태에서 전면 커버(50)의 후면이 반사 레이어(100)와 접하도록 마련될 수 있다.
디스플레이 모듈(10)은 반사 레이어(100)를 실장면(41)과 접착시키도록 마련되는 접착 레이어(70)를 포함할 수 있다.
접착 레이어(70)는 광학 투명 레진(OCR, Optical Clear Resin)으로 형성될 수 있다. 광학 투명 레진(OCR)은 투과율이 90% 이상인 매우 투명한 상태일 수 있다.
접착 레이어(70)는 광학 투명 레진(OCR)로 마련되어 모두 저반사 특성을 통해 투과율을 높여 시인성 및 화질을 향상시킬 수 있다. 에어 갭을 갖는 구조에서는 필름층과 공기층 사이의 굴절률 차이에 의해 빛의 손실이 일어나게 되나, 광학 투명 레진(OCR)을 이용하는 구조에서는 굴절률 차이가 감소하게 되어 빛의 손실이 줄어들고 결과적으로 시인성 및 화질이 향상될 수 있다.
접착 레이어(70)는 반사 레이어(100) 및 이와 연결되는 전면 커버(50)를기판(40)에 접착시키는 동시에 기판(40)을 보호할 수 있고 뿐만 아니라 화질 개선의 측면에서 장점을 가질 수 있다.
접착 레이어(70)는 실장면(41) 또는 발광면(54)이 향하는 제 1방향(X)으로 소정의 높이 이상의 높이를 가지도록 마련될 수 있다. 접착 레이어(70)가 기판(40)에 형성될 시, 접착 레이어(70)와 복수의 무기 발광 소자들(50) 사이에 형성될 수 있는 간극을 충분하게 채우기 위함이다.
이하에서는 반사 레이어(100)에 대해 자세하게 설명한다.
도 4는 도 1에 도시된 디스플레이 모듈의 단면을 개략적으로 도시한 도면이고, 도 5는 도 1에 도시된 디스플레이 모듈의 단면을 개략적으로 도시한 도면이고, 도 6은 도 1에 도시된 디스플레이 모듈의 단면을 개략적으로 도시한 도면이다.
화면(11)이 거울 역할을 수행하는 미러 디스플레이를 제공하는 디스플레이 모듈(10)에 있어서, 화면(11)은 외부의 광을 반사하는 영역과 관통홀(61,62,63)을 통해 복수의 무기 발광 소자(50)에서 조사되는 광에 의해 영상이 표시되는 영역으로 구분될 수 있다.
복수의 무기 발광 소자(50)에서 조사되는 광은 각각의 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)와 대응되는 관통홀(61,62,63)을 통해 화면(11)에 표시되어 영상이 형성될 수 있다.
미러 디스플레이를 제공하는 디스플레이 모듈(10)의 경우 상술한 바와 같이 복수의 무기 발광 소자(50)에서 조사되는 광이 관통홀(61,62,63)을 통해 화면(11)에 표시되는데, 각각의 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)에서 조사되는 광이 각각의 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)와 대응되는 관통홀(61,62,63)이 서로 대응되지 않는 관통홀(61,62,63)을 통해 화면(11)에 표시될 시 화면(11)에 표시되는 영상의 일부가 혼색된 색상으로 표시되어 디스플레이 모듈(10)의 화면이 저하될 수 있다.
자세하게는 도 4에 도시된 바와 같이 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 발생되는 광의 대부분(R1)은 전방으로 대응되는 위치에 배치도는 제1 관통홀(61)을 통과하여 전방으로 조사될 수 있고, 녹색 발광 소자(52)에서 발생되는 광의 대부분(G1)은 전방으로 대응되는 위치에 배치도는 제2 관통홀(62)을 통과하여 전방으로 조사될 수 있고, 청색 발광 소자(53)에서 발생되는 광의 대부분(B1)은 전방으로 대응되는 위치에 배치도는 제3 관통홀(63)을 통과하여 전방으로 조사될 수 있다.
다만, 일 예로 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 방사되는 일부 광은 방사각에 따라 제1 관통홀(61)이 아닌 다른 방향으로 조사될 수 있다. 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 방사되는 일부 광 중 도 5에 도시되는 바와 같이 제2 관통홀(62)을 향해 조사되는 광(R2)이 제2 관통홀(62)을 투과할 경우 제2 관통홀(62)을 투과하는 광은 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 방사된 광(R2)과 녹색 발광 소자(52)에서 방사된 광(G1)이 혼색되어, 표시되어야 하는 색상과 다른 색상이 화면(11)에 표시될 수 있다.
또한 일 예로, 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 방사되는 일부 광 중 도 6에 도시되는 바와 같이 제3 관통홀(63)을 향해 조사되는 광(R3)이 제3 관통홀(63)을 투과할 경우 제3 관통홀(63)을 투과하는 광은 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 방사된 광(R3)과 청색 발광 소자(53)에서 방사된 광(B1)이 혼색될 수 있다.
디스플레이 모듈(10)은 각각의 관통홀(61,62,63)에 전방으로 대응되는 각각의 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)에서 방사되는 광이 아닌 다른 무기 발광 소자에서 방사되는 광이 통과되는 것을 방지하기 위해 반사 레이어(100)를 포함할 수 있다.
도 5 및 도 6에 도시된 바와 같이 각각의 관통홀(61,62,63)에 전방으로 대응되는 각각의 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)에서 방사되는 광이 아닌 다른 무기 발광 소자에서 방사되는 광은 반사 레이어(100)에 의해 반사되어 각각의 관통홀(61,62,63)을 통과하지 못하고 이방성 도전층(47)에 흡수되거나, 디스플레이 모듈(10)의 측면으로 진행되어 디스플레이 모듈(10)의 측면에서 흡수될 수 있다.
반사 레이어(100)의 굴절률은 접착 레이어(70)의 굴절률보다 작은 재질로 형성될 수 있다.
각각의 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)에서 방사되는 광은 접착 레이어(70)를 투과하여 반사 레이어(100)에 입사되는데, 이 때 입사 매질인 접착 레이어(70)의 굴절률을 굴절 매질인 반사 레이어(100)의 굴절률보다 크게 형성되도록 마련되어 반사 레이어(100)의 입사면에서 전반사의 임계 각도를 최소화시킬 수 있다.
반사 레이어(100)에 의해 관통홀(61,62,63)을 투과하는 입사각의 전반사의 임계 각도가 커짐에 따라 각각의 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)에서 조사되는 광이 각각의 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)와 전방으로 대응되지 않는 관통홀(61,62,63)의 위치와 대응되는 반사 레이어(100)에 입사될 시, 그 광은 반사 레이어(100)의 입사면에서 전반사 되어 반사 레이어(100)를 투과하지 못하고 실장면(41) 측으로 반사되어 이방성 도전층(47)에 흡수될 수 있다.
반사 레이어(100)에 있어서 전방으로 제1 관통홀(61)과 대응되는 위치에 배치되는 영역을 제1영역(110), 전방으로 제2 관통홀(62)과 대응되는 위치에 배치되는 영역을 제2영역(120), 전방으로 제3 관통홀(63)과 대응되는 위치에 배치되는 영역을 제3영역(130)으로 정의할 시, 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 조사되는 광(R2)이 제2 영역(120)에 입사될 시 제2 영역(120) 상에서 전반사되어 반사 레이어(100)를 투과하지 못하고 실장면(41) 방향으로 이동되어 이방선 도전층(47)에 흡수될 수 있다.
다만 이에 한정되지 않고 녹색 발광 소자(52)에서 조사되는 광이 제1 영역(110) 또는 제3 영역(130)에 입사될 시 제1 영역(110) 또는 제3 영역(130) 상에서 전반사되어 반사 레이어(100)를 투과하지 못하고 실장면(41) 방향으로 이동되어 이방선 도전층(47)에 흡수될 수 있다.
적색 발광 소자(51)에서 조사되는 광이 제1 영역(110)에 입사될 시, 적색 발광 소자(51)와 제1 영역(110)은 상하 방향으로 대응되는 위치에 배치됨에 따라 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 투과되는 광이 제1 영역(110)에 입사될 시의 입사각은 매우 작게 마련되어 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 조사되는 광으(R1)은 용이하게 제1 영역(110)을 투과하여 제1 관통홀(61)을 통과할 수 있다.
다만, 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 조사되는 광(R2)이 제2 영역(120)에 입사될 시 적색 발광 소자(51)에서의 방사각에 의해 제2 영역(120)에 입사되는 입사각 커짐에 따라 제2 영역(120) 상에서 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 조사되는 광(R2)은 반사되어 실장면(41) 측으로 이동되고 이방성 도전층(47)에 흡수될 수 있다.
또한, 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 조사되는 광(R3)이 제3영역(130)에 직접 입사되거나 미러 레이어(100)와 이방성 도전층(47) 사이에서 반사되어 제3 영역(130)에 입사될 시 적색 발광 소자(51)에서의 방사각에 의해 제3 영역(130)에 입사되는 입사각 커짐에 따라 제3 영역(130) 상에서 적색 발광 소자(51)에서 조사되는 광(R3)은 반사되어 실장면(41) 측으로 이동되고 이방성 도전층(47)에 흡수될 수 있다.
이에 따라 각각의 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)에서 조사되는 광은 각각의 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)와 전방으로 대응되는 위치에 배치되는 제1영역(110)과 제2 영역(120) 및 제3 영역(130)으로 입사되어 반사되지 않고 반사 레이어(100)를 투과하여 관통홀(61,62,63)를 통과할 수 있다.
동시에 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)에서 조사되는 광은 각각의 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)와 전방으로 대응되는 위치에 배치되는 제1영역(110)과 제2 영역(120) 및 제3 영역(130)과 다른 어느 영역(110,120,130)으로 입사될 시에는 반사 레이어(100)의 입사면에서 전반사되어 관통홀(61,62,63)를 통과할 수 없다.
따라서, 각각의 관통홀(61,62,63)에는 각각의 관통홀(61,62,63)과 상하 방향으로 대응되는 무기 발광 소자(51,52,53)에서 조사되는 광만 투과되도록 마련될 수 있다.
특정 실시예에 의하여 상기와 같은 본 발명의 기술적 사상을 설명하였으나 본 발명의 권리범위는 이러한 실시예에 한정되는 것이 아니다. 특허청구범위에 명시된 본 발명의 기술적 사상으로서의 요지를 일탈하지 아니하는 범위 안에서 당분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자에 의하여 수정 또는 변형 가능한 다양한 실시예들도 본 발명의 권리범위에 속한다 할 것이다.

- 전방으로 광을 조사하는 복수의 무기 발광 소자;상기 복수의 무기 발광 소자가 실장되는 실장면을 가지는 기판;상기 기판의 실장면을 상기 전방에서 커버하도록 마련되는 전면 커버;상기 전면 커버와 상기 복수의 무기 발광 소자 사이에 배치되는 미러 레이어(mirror layer);상기 미러 레이어와 상기 복수의 무기 발광 소자 사이에 배치되고 상기 복수의 무기 발광 소자에서 조사되는 광의 적어도 일부를 반사시키도록 마련되는 반사 레이어;상기 반사 레이어와 상기 실장면 사이에 배치되고 상기 반사 레이어를 상기 실장면에 접착시키도록 마련되는 접착 레이어;를 포함하고,상기 반사 레이어는 상기 접착 레이어와의 굴절률 차이에 따라 상기 복수의 무기 발광 소자에서 조사되는 광의 적어도 일부를 반사시키도록 마련되는 디스플레이 모듈.

- 제11항에 있어서,상기 실장면 상에 형성되는 TFT층(Thin Film Transistor)과, 상기 TFT층과 상기 복수의 무기 발광 소자를 전기적으로 연결하고 상기 TFT층의 상면에 배치되는 이방성 도전층을 더 포함하고,상기 이방성 도전층은 검은색상으로 마련되는 디스플레이 모듈.
- 제12항에 있어서,상기 복수의 무기 발광 소자는 제1 무기 발광 소자와 상기 제1 무기 발광 소자와 나란하게 배치되는 제2 무기 발광 소자를 포함하고,상기 반사 레이어는상기 전방으로 상기 제1 무기 발광 소자와 대응되는 제1 영역과 상기 제2 무기 발광 소자와 대응되는 제2 영역을 포함하고,상기 제1 무기 발광 소자에서 조사되는 광이 상기 제1 영역으로 입사될 시 상기 반사 레이어를 투과하도록 마련되는 디스플레이 모듈.
- 제13항에 있어서,상기 반사 레이어는 상기 제1 무기 발광 소자에서 조사되는 광이 상기 제2 영역으로 입사될 시 반사되도록 마련되는 디스플레이 모듈.
- 제14항에 있어서,상기 반사된 광은 상기 이방성 도전층에 입사되도록 마련되는 디스플레이 모듈.
