Description

원형 편파로 동작하는 안테나 모듈
본 명세서는 원형 편파로 동작하는 안테나 모듈에 관한 것이다. 특정 구현은 기판 상에 구현된 평면형 원형 편파 안테나 모듈 및 이를 구비하는 차량에 관한 것이다.
차량(vehicle)은 다른 차량 또는 주변 사물, 인프라 또는 기지국과 무선 통신 서비스를 수행할 수 있다. 이와 관련하여, LTE 통신 기술 또는 5G 통신 기술이 적용된 무선 통신 시스템을 통해 다양한 통신 서비스를 제공할 수 있다. 한편, LTE 주파수 대역 중 일부를 5G 통신 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 할당될 수 있다. 또한, 위성 통신을 수행하도록 구성된 GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) 안테나가 차량에 배치될 수 있다.
안테나가 위성을 지향해야 하고, 어느 각도에서도 신호를 수신해야 하므로, 안테나가 부착되는 위치는 각도가 완만한 유리 또는 금속이 아닌 사출물로 구성된 차체(car body)일 수 있다.
한편, 위성신호 수신을 위한 반구형(semi-sphere) 원형편파를 갖는 안테나의 방사패턴이 구현되어야 한다. 어느 방향에서도 위성신호를 수신해야 하므로 넓은 커버리지(wide coverage)의 방사패턴이 요구된다. 이와 관련하여, FoV ±75도의 빔 커버리지가 요구될 수 있다. 위성신호의 회절특성 때문에 CP(circular polarization)가 요구되며, 축비(axial ratio)는 CP 이득에 중요한 인자(factor)이다.
한편, 필름 또는 투명기판 상에 안테나 구현을 위한 초박형 원형 편파 (Circular Polarization) 안테나가 요구된다. 이와 관련하여, 유리 또는 금속을 제외한 차체에 안테나를 부착하기 위해서는 얇은 유연 기판 또는 투명 기판에 안테나가 구현될 필요가 있다. 일반적인 안테나는 안테나와 접지면 높이에 의해 저고도각 성능(low-elevation performance)을 구현한다. 하지만, 초박형 안테나는 안테나와 접지면이 거의 동일한 평면상에 위치하여 저고도각 성능을 구현하기 어렵다는 이슈가 있다. 따라서, 차량 유리에 배치될 수 있는 초박형 안테나로 저고도각 성능을 구현할 수 있는 평면형 안테나 구조를 제안하고자 한다.
또한, 안테나 모듈이 부착되는 피부착물에 해당하는 유리 또는 유전체에 의한 영향을 파악하여, 유리 또는 유전체에 의한 영향에 따라 성능 최적화가 용이한 안테나 구조 설계가 필요하다.
본 명세서의 목적은 기판 상에 구현된 평면형 원형 편파 안테나 모듈 및 이를 구비하는 차량을 제공하기 위한 것이다.
본 명세서의 목적은 초박형 안테나는 안테나와 접지면이 거의 동일한 평면상에 위치하여 저고도각 성능을 구현하기 어렵다는 이슈를 해결하기 위한 것이다.

본 명세서에 따른 원형 편파로 동작하는 차량용 안테나 모듈에 대해 설명한다. 한편, 본 명세서에 따른 원형 편파로 동작하는 차량용 안테나 모듈은 CPW 급전부와 동일 평면상의 단일 유전체 기판으로 구현될 수 있다. 또한, 본 명세서에 따른 차량의 글래스에 배치될 수 있는 광대역 투명 안테나 구조는 방사체의 양 측에 그라운드가 형성된 구조로 구현되어 광대역 구조를 형성할 수 있다. 차량용 광대역 투명 안테나는 4G 무선 통신 및 5G 무선 통신을 수행하도록 구성된 안테나 모듈을 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 차량용 광대역 투명 안테나는 위치 서비스를 제공하도록 구성된 GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) 안테나를 포함할 수 있다.
이하, 본 명세서에 원형 편파로 동작하는 차량용 안테나 모듈에 대해 설명한다. 이와 관련하여, 도 2a는 차량용 GNSS 안테나와 관련하여 복수의 주파수 대역들을 나타낸다. 도 2b는 차량용 GNSS 안테나와 관련하여 편파 특성들을 나타낸다.
도 2a를 참조하면, 차량용 GNSS 안테나가 동작하는 주파수 대역은 L1 대역에 해당하는 제1 주파수 대역과 L5 대역에 해당하는 제2 주파수 대역을 포함할 수 있다. L1 대역에 해당하는 제1 주파수 대역은 1559.0 내지 1605.9 MHz으로 설정될 수 있다. 제1 주파수 대역은 GPS와 연관된 L1 대역을 포함할 수 있다. 제1 주파수 대역은 GLONASS와 연관된 L1 대역을 포함할 수 있다. L5 대역에 해당하는 제2 주파수 대역은 1164MHz 내지 1188MHz로 설정될 수 있다. 제2 주파수 대역은 GPS와 연관된 L5 대역을 포함할 수 있다.
차량용 GNSS 안테나로 구현되는 안테나 어셈블리는 제1 주파수 대역 및 제2 주파수 대역에서 동작하도록 이중 대역 공진하도록 구성될 수 있다. 차량용 GNSS 안테나로 구현되는 안테나 어셈블리는 원형 편파(circular polarization)를 갖도록 동작할 수 있다. 안테나 어셈블리는 우수 원형 편파(right-hand circular polarization, RHCP)를 갖도록 동작할 수 있다.

우수 원형 편파(RHCP)를 갖는 신호는 수학식 1에서 A=B이고 위상차가 90도로 형성될 수 있다. 좌수 원형 편파(LHCP)를 갖는 신호는 수학식 1에서 A=B이고 위상차가 -90도로 형성될 수 있다. 수학식 1의 |E|의 최대값(|E| max)과 최소값(|E| min)의 비율(ratio)을 수학식 2와 같이 축비(axial ratio, AR)로 정의할 수 있다.
수학식 1, 수학식 2, 도 2b(d)를 참조하면, A와 B가 서로 다른 값을 가지면 차량용 GNSS 안테나에서 형성되는 신호는 타원형 편파를 갖도록 구성될 수 있다. 원형 편파 신호는 차량용 안테나가 배치된 평면에 천장 방향으로 특정 수준, 예를 들어 3dB 또는 6dB 이하로 형성될 필요가 있다. 안테나 이득은 천장 방향의 0도를 기준으로 45도 범위에서 특정 수준, 예를 들어 -3dBic 이하로 형성될 필요가 있다.

도 3(b) 및 도 7을 참조하면, 안테나 모듈(1000b)은 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치된 복수의 금속 패턴들을 포함할 수 있다. 안테나 모듈(1000b)은 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치된 전도성 패치 영역(1100), 전도성 접지 영역(1100g) 및 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)을 포함한다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 사각형, 육각형 이상의 다각형 또는 원형 형상으로 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 제1 스터브(SB1) 내지 제4 스터브(SB4)를 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 돌출된 제1 스터브(SB1) 내지 제4 스터브(SB4)가 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)과 전기적으로 분리되도록 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)에 제1 슬롯 영역(SR1) 내지 제4 슬롯 영역(SR4)이 형성될 수 있다.
이하, 도 3 내지 도 7을 참조하여, 본 명세서에 따른 원형 편파로 동작하는 차량용 안테나 모듈(1000, 1000b)에 대해 설명한다. 안테나 모듈(1000, 1000b)은 투명 기판(1010), 전도성 접지 영역(1100g), 전도성 패치 영역(1100) 및 연결 패턴들(1100c)을 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 안테나 모듈(1000, 1000b)은 제2 링 형상의 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)을 더 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다.
전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 투명 기판(1010)에 제1 링 형상으로 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측과 이격되게 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내부 영역에 배치될 수 있다. 따라서, 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)을 둘러싸도록 형성될 수 있다.
전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면에 제1 링 형상으로 형성될 수 있다. 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 전도성 패치 영역(1100)이 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측으로부터 이격되게 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측 영역에 해당하는 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면에 대향하는 제2 면에 배치될 수 있다. 연결 패턴들(1100c)은 제1 패턴들(SB5, SB6, SB7, SB8) 및 제2 패턴들(SB1, SB2, SB3, SB4)로 구성될 수 있다.
제1 패턴들(SB5, SB6, SB7, SB8)은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측면으로 연장되게 형성될 수 있다. 제2 패턴들(SB1, SB2, SB3, SB4)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 외측면으로 연장되게 형성될 수 있다. 제1 패턴들(SB5, SB6, SB7, SB8)과 제2 패턴들(SB1, SB2, SB3, SB4)의 일부분은 서로 중첩되게 형성될 수 있다. 서로 중첩되는 영역들은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 인근에 형성될 수 있다. 제1 패턴들(SB5, SB6, SB7, SB8)과 제2 패턴들(SB1, SB2, SB3, SB4)은 전기적으로 커플링 결합하는 복수의 연결 패턴들(1100c)을 형성할 수 있다.
복수의 연결 패턴들(1100c)은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)과 전도성 패치 영역(1100) 사이에 커패시턴스들을 형성하도록 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)에서 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 내측으로 연장되어 형성될 수 있다. 연결 패턴들(1100c)에 의해 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)이 이격되어 전자기적으로 결합될 수 있다. 투명 기판(1010)의 동일 층 또는 다른 층에서 중첩 길이를 갖는 연결 패턴들(1100c)에 의해 수평 방향으로 전자기적 결합될 수 있다. 따라서, 연결 패턴들(1100c)에 의해 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 수평 결합 구조(horizontal coupling structure)를 형성할 수 있다.
복수의 연결 패턴들(1100c)은 다른 층에서 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)과 전도성 패치 영역(1100) 간에 커플링되도록 일부 중첩된 구조로 형성될 수 있다. 연결 패턴들(1100c)은 동일 층에서 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)과 전도성 패치 영역(1100) 간에 커플링되도록 소정 간격으로 이격되어 형성될 수 있다. 따라서, 연결 패턴들(1100c)은 결합 구조, 커패시터 구조 또는 연결 패턴 구조 등으로 지칭될 수 있다.
복수의 연결 패턴들(1100c) 중 제1 연결 패턴(1110c)과 제2 연결 패턴(1120c)은 제1 각도(α1)로 이격되어 형성될 수 있다. 복수의 연결 패턴들(1100c) 중 제2 연결 패턴(1120c)과 제3 연결 패턴(1130c)은 제2 각도(α2)로 이격되어 형성될 수 있다. 복수의 연결 패턴들(1100c) 중 제3 연결 패턴(1130c)과 제4 연결 패턴(1140c)의 각도는 제1 각도(α1)와 동일한 각도로 이격되어 형성될 수 있다. 복수의 연결 패턴들(1100c) 중 제4 연결 패턴(1140c)과 제1 연결 패턴(1110c)의 각도는 제2 각도(α2)와 동일한 각도로 형성될 수 있다.
이와 관련하여, 제1 각도(α1) 및 제2 각도(α2) 중 하나는 90도보다 작은 각도이고 다른 하나는 90도보다 큰 각도일 수 있다. 예를 들어, 제1 각도(α1)는 90도보다 작은 각도이고 제2 각도(α2)는 90도보다 큰 각도로 형성될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 안테나 모듈이 우수 원형 편파(right handed circular polarization, RHCP)로 동작할 수 있다. 다른 예로, 제1 각도(α1)는 90도보다 큰 각도이고 제2 각도(α2)는 90도보다 작은 각도로 형성될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 안테나 모듈이 좌수 원형 편파(left handed circular polarization, LHCP)로 동작할 수 있다.
한편, 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)을 둘러싸도록 제2 링 형상으로 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)의 내측 반경은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 외측 반경(Rg)보다 더 크게 형성될 수 있다. 도 3(a), 도 4 내지 도 6을 참조하면, 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)은 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치될 수 있다. 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)이 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치 시 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)은 접지와 전기적으로 연결되지 않는 플로팅 구조(floating structure)로 구현될 수 있다.
전도성 가이드 링(1100r)은 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면에 배치될 수도 있다. 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)이 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면에 배치 시, 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)에 형성된 전류 성분이 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)으로 효과적으로 결합될 수도 있다. 하지만, 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)이 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면에 배치 시, 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)은 동축 케이블(100c)의 접지선(120c)과 연결될 수 있다.
전도성 가이드 링(1100r)의 반경은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 반경보다 더 크게 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)의 반경은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 반경보다 더 크게 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 반경은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 반경보다 더 크게 형성될 수 있다.

한편, 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 육각형 이상의 다각형 형상 원형 형상으로 형성될 수 있다. 도 3(a), 도 4 내지 도 6을 참조하면, 제1 연결 패턴(1110c)은 제1 스터브(SB1) 및 제1 슬롯 영역(SR1)을 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제1 지점에서 연장되어 형성될 수 있다. 제1 슬롯 영역(SR1)은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)에 금속 패턴이 제거되게 형성될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 제1 슬롯 영역(SR1)에 제1 스터브(SB1)가 배치될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)를 통해 특정 주파수 대역의 신호가 안테나 모듈로 인가될 수 있다.

한편, 제2 연결 패턴(1120c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제2 지점에서 연장되는 제2 스터브(SB2)로 형성될 수 있다. 제3 연결 패턴(1130c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제3 지점에서 연장되는 제3 스터브(SB3)로 형성될 수 있다. 제4 연결 패턴(1140c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제4 지점에서 연장되는 제4 스터브(SB4)로 형성될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)와 제2 스터브(SB2)의 각도는 90도 이하의 제1 각도(α1)로 형성될 수 있다. 제2 스터브(SB2)와 제3 스터브(SB3)의 각도는 90도 이상의 제2 각도(α2)로 형성될 수 있다. 제3 스터브(SB3)와 제4 스터브(SB4)의 각도는 제1 각도(α1)와 동일한 각도로 형성될 수 있다. 제4 스터브(SB4)와 제1 스터브(SB1)의 각도는 제2 각도(α2)와 동일한 각도로 형성될 수 있다.
전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)이 동일 층 상에 배치되는 구조에서 제2 내지 제4 스터브(SB2, SB3, SB4)와 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 커패시터 구조는 비-연결 구조로 형성될 수 있다. 이와 관련하여, 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 제2 내지 제4 스터브(SB2, SB3, SB4)가 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측면보다 더 돌출되게 연장될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)에 제2 내지 제4 슬롯 영역(SR2, SR3, SR4)가 형성될 수 있다.
전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 제2 스터브(SB2)의 일 측, 타 측 및 단부와 이격 또는 중첩되도록 금속 패턴이 제거된 제2 슬롯 영역(SR2)이 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 제3 스터브(SB3)의 일 측, 타 측 및 단부와 이격 또는 중첩되도록 금속 패턴이 제거된 제2 슬롯 영역(SR3)이 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 제4 스터브(SB4)의 일 측, 타 측 및 단부와 이격 또는 중첩되도록 금속 패턴이 제거된 제4 슬롯 영역(SR4)이 형성될 수 있다.
제2 내지 제4 슬롯 영역(SR2, SR3, SR4)의 단부와 제2 내지 제4 슬롯 영역(SR2, SR3, SR4)의 단부가 중첩되어 연결 패턴들(1100c)을 형성할 수 있다. 제2 내지 제4 슬롯 영역(SR2, SR3, SR4)은 제2 패턴들(SB6, SB7, SB8)에 대응될 수 있다.
전술한 바와 같이, 본 명세서에 따른 원형 편파로 동작하는 안테나 모듈은 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 및 제2 면에 양면 구조로 형성될 수 있다. 도 3 내지 도 6을 참조하면, 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면에 전도성 패치 영역(1100) 및 전도성 가이드 링(1100r) 이 배치될 수 있다. 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)이 배치될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 육각형 이상의 다각형 또는 원형 형상으로 형성될 수 있다.
전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 연결 패턴들을 형성하는 복수의 스터브들을 포함하도록 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 제1 스터브(SB1), 제2 스터브(SB2), 제3 스터브(SB3) 및 제4 스터브(SB4)를 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제1 지점에서 제1 연결 패턴(1110c)가 형성되는 제1 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제2 스터브(SB2)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제2 지점에서 제2 연결 패턴(1120c)가 형성되는 제2 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제3 스터브(SB3)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제3 지점에서 제3 연결 패턴(1130c)가 형성되는 제3 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제4 스터브(SB4)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제4 지점에서 제4 연결 패턴(1140c)가 형성되는 제4 방향으로 형성될 수 있다.

투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치된 제5 스터브(SB5)는 제1 너비(W1)보다 넓은 제2 너비(W2)로 형성될 수 있다. 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치된 제5 스터브(SB5)는 제1 길이(L1)보다 짧은 제3 길이(L3)로 형성될 수 있다. 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치된 제6 스터브(SB6) 내지 제8 스터브(SB8)는 제1 너비(W1) 및 제2 길이(L2)보다 짧은 제4 길이(L4)로 형성될 수 있다. 제6 스터브(SB6) 내지 제8 스터브(SB8)의 제4 길이(L4)는 제5 스터브(SB5)는 제3 길이(L3)보다 짧게 형성될 수 있다.
투명 기판(1010)의 제1 및 제2 면의 대응되는 스터브들은 소정 중첩 길이로 중첩되어 소정의 커패시턴스 값을 갖는 커패시터가 형성되도록 구성될 수 있다. 제2 스터브(SB2)와 제6 스터브(SB6)의 중첩 길이, 제3 스터브(SB3)와 제7 스터브(SB7)의 중첩 길이 및 제4 스터브(SB4)와 제8 스터브(SB8)의 중첩 길이는 동일하게 형성될 수 있다. 중첩 길이는 제6 스터브(SB6) 내지 제8 스터브(SB8)의 제4 길이(L4)보다 짧게 형성될 수 있다.
한편, 본 명세서에 따른 원형 편파 안테나의 특성은 스터브 구조의 중첩 구조 및 스터브 간 각도에 따라 조정될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 반경(Rp)과 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g) 사이의 제1 간격(Gg)에 의해 안테나 모듈의 공진 주파수가 조정될 수 있다. 또한, 제2 스터브(SB2) 내지 제4 스터브(SB4)의 제1 너비(W1)와 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측의 제2 간격(Wc1)의 곱에 의해 안테나 모듈의 공진 주파수가 조정될 수 있다. 이와 관련하여, 제2 간격(Wc1)은 제2 스터브(SB2) 내지 제4 스터브(SB4)의 종단과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측까지의 길이로 정의될 수 있다.

전술한 바와 같이, 인접한 스터브들 간 각도에 따른 안테나 모듈의 특성에 대해 설명한다. 도 8은 급전 스터브를 구비하는 안테나 모듈의 평면도와 편파 방향을 나타낸 도면이다. 도 9는 도 8의 급전 스터브를 구비하는 안테나 모듈에서 전계 분포의 위상 변화를 나타내는 도면들이다.
도 8 및 도 9(a)를 참조하면, 0도의 위상을 갖는 제1 상태에서 전도성 패치 영역(1100)에 형성되는 전계의 방향은 양의 X축 방향으로 형성된다. 도 8 및 도 9(b)를 참조하면, 90도의 위상을 갖는 제2 상태에서 전도성 패치 영역(1100)에 형성되는 전계의 방향은 양의 X축 방향으로 형성된다. 도 8 및 도 9(c)를 참조하면, 180도의 위상을 갖는 제3 상태에서 전도성 패치 영역(1100)에 형성되는 전계의 방향은 음의 X축 방향으로 형성된다. 도 8 및 도 9(d)를 참조하면, 270도의 위상을 갖는 제4 상태에서 전도성 패치 영역(1100)에 형성되는 전계의 방향은 음의 X축 방향으로 형성된다. 도 8 및 도 9를 참조하면, 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 좌측 및 우측에서 전류의 위상차가 180°가 된다. 따라서, 다이폴 안테나과 동일한 방사패턴을 형성하며 급전 스터브인 제5 스터브(SB5)와 수평한 방향의 선형편파가 구현될 수 있다.
도 10은 제1 내지 제4 스터브가 90도의 각도로 형성된 안테나 모듈의 평면도와 편파 방향을 나타낸 도면이다. 도 11은 도 10의 제1 내지 제4 스터브가 90도의 각도로 형성된 안테나 모듈에서 전계 분포의 위상 변화를 나타내는 도면들이다.
도 10 및 도 11(a)를 참조하면, 0도의 위상을 갖는 제1 상태에서 전도성 패치 영역(1100)에 형성되는 전계의 방향은 양의 X축 방향으로 형성된다. 도 10 및 도 11(b)를 참조하면, 90도의 위상을 갖는 제2 상태에서 전도성 패치 영역(1100)에 형성되는 전계의 방향은 양의 X축 방향으로 형성된다. 도 10 및 도 11(c)를 참조하면, 180도의 위상을 갖는 제3 상태에서 전도성 패치 영역(1100)에 형성되는 전계의 방향은 음의 X축 방향으로 형성된다. 도 10 및 도 11(d)를 참조하면, 270도의 위상을 갖는 제4 상태에서 전도성 패치 영역(1100)에 형성되는 전계의 방향은 음의 X축 방향으로 형성된다.
도 10 및 도 11을 참조하면, 3개의 병렬 스터브가 급전 스터브와 각각 a1=90도, a2=180도, a3=270 도의 각도를 이루면, 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 좌측 및 우측에서 전류의 위상차가 180°가 된다. 다이폴 안테나과 동일한 방사패턴을 형성하며 급전선과 수평한 방향의 선형편파가 구현될 수 있다. 또한, 복수의 스터브들에 의해 전도성 패치 영역(1100)에서 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)으로 커플링되는 전계 성분이 증가하게 된다. 이에 따라, 안테나 모듈의 유효 면적 증가로 인해 지향성 및 이득이 개선되는 효과가 있다. 특히, 급전 스터브인 제5 스터브(SB5)를 통해 신호가 인가되는 방향인 X축 방향으로 안테나 모듈의 지향성 및 이득이 개선되는 효과가 있다.
도 12는 제1 및 제2 스터브가 90도보다 작은 제1 각도, 제2 및 제3 스터브가 90도보다 큰 제2 각도로 형성된 안테나 모듈의 평면도와 편파 방향을 나타낸 도면이다. 도 13은 도 12의 안테나 모듈에서 전계 분포의 위상 변화를 나타내는 도면들이다.

도 12 및 도 13을 참조하면, 3개의 병렬 스터브가 급전 스터브와 각각 45도< a1 < 90도, 150도< a2 < 210도, 225도 < a3 < 270도의 각도를 이루도록 형성될 수 있다. 일 예로, a1= 69도, a2=175도, a3= 246도의 각도를 이루도록 형성될 수 있지만, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 병렬 스터브의 종단은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)과 평면 커패시턴스를 구성할 수 있다. 급전 스터브에 대응되는 제1 스터브(SB1)와 3개의 병렬 스터브가 이루는 각도 (a1, a2, a3)에 따라 선형편파에서 원형 편파로 편파를 구현할 수 있다. 45도< a1 < 90도, 150도< a2 < 210도, 225도 < a3 < 270도의 각도를 이룰 때, 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 전류는 90도의 위상차마다 서로 수직하게 된다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 전류는 반시계 방향(counter-clockwise direction)으로 회전하게 된다. 따라서, 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 안테나 면과 수직한 천장방향으로 우수원형편파 (RHCP)의 신호가 생성될 수 있다.

도 14 및 도 15를 참조하면, 3개의 병렬 스터브가 급전 스터브와 각각 90도< a1 < 135도, 150도< a2 < 210도, 270도 < a3 < 315도의 각도를 이루도록 형성될 수 있다. 일 예로, a1= 114도, a2=175도, a3= 291도의 각도를 이루도록 형성될 수 있지만, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 병렬 스터브의 종단은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)과 평면 커패시턴스를 구성할 수 있다. 급전 스터브에 대응되는 제1 스터브(SB1)와 3개의 병렬 스터브가 이루는 각도 (a1, a2, a3)에 따라 선형편파에서 원형 편파로 편파를 구현할 수 있다. 90도< a1 < 135도, 150도< a2 < 210도, 270도 < a3 < 315도의 각도를 이룰 때, 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 전류는 90도의 위상차마다 서로 수직하게 된다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 전류는 시계 방향(clockwise direction)으로 회전하게 된다. 따라서, 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 안테나 면과 수직한 천장방향으로 좌수원형편파 (LHCP)의 신호가 생성될 수 있다.
한편, 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)을 둘러싸도록 제2 링 형상으로 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)의 내측 반경은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 외측 반경(Rg)보다 더 크게 형성될 수 있다.
전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 육각형 이상의 다각형 형상 원형 형상으로 형성될 수 있다. 도 7을 참조하면, 제1 연결 패턴(1110c)은 제1 스터브(SB1) 및 접지 영역(GR)을 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제1 지점에서 연장되어 형성될 수 있다. 접지 영역(GR)은 제1 스터브(SB1)의 일 측과 타 측 및 원주를 둘러싸도록 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 접지 영역(GR)과 이격되도록 금속 패턴이 제거되게 제1 슬롯 영역(SR1)이 형성될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)를 통해 특정 주파수 대역의 신호가 안테나 모듈로 인가될 수 있다.
한편, 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면 및 제2 면 중 하나는 유리 패널에 부착될 수 있다. 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면 및 제2 면 중 다른 하나에 전도성 접지 영역(1100g), 전도성 패치 영역(1100), 전도성 가이드 링(1100r) 및 동축 케이블(100c)이 배치될 수 있다. 동축 케이블(100c)의 신호선(110c)이 제1 스터브(SB)에 연결되고 접지선(110g)이 접지 영역(GR)과 연결될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 동축 케이블(100c)의 신호선(110c)과 제1 스터브(SB1)를 통해 특정 주파수 대역의 신호가 안테나 모듈로 인가될 수 있다.
이와 관련하여, 도 16은 피부착물에 부착되는 안테나 모듈의 측면도를 나타낸다. 도 17은 피부착물의 재질에 따른 안테나 모듈의 공진 주파수 및 축비 변화를 나타낸 그래프이다. 한편, 도 18은 유리 패널에 배치된 안테나 모듈의 방사 패턴의 전면도와 YZ 평면 및 XZ 평면 상의 방사 패턴을 나타낸 것이다.
도 5 및 도 16을 참조하면, 피부착물(10)에 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면에 배치된 전도성 패치 영역(1010)과 전도성 가이드 링(1010r)이 부착될 수 있다. 한편, 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)이 배치될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)과 이격된 제5 스터브(SB5)에 동축 케이블(100c)의 신호선(110c)이 연결될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)에 동축 케이블(100c)의 접지선(110c)이 연결될 수 있다.
도 16 및 도 17(a)를 참조하면, 안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 6.5인 유리 패널에 부착되면, 1.4GHz 내지 1.5GHz의 주파수 대역에서 -15dB 이하의 반사 계수 값을 갖는다. 안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 6.5인 유리 패널에 부착되면, 1.4GHz 내지 1.75GHz의 주파수 대역에서 -10dB 이하의 반사 계수 값을 갖는다. 안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 6.5인 유리 패널에 부착되면, 안테나 모듈(1000)은 1.58GHz의 공진 주파수를 갖는다.
안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 2.7인 폴리카보네이트 (Polycarbonate)에 부착되면, 1.6GHz 내지 1.9GHz의 주파수 대역에서 -12dB 이하의 반사 계수 값을 갖는다. 안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 2.7인 폴리카보네이트에 부착되면, 안테나 모듈(1000)은 1.78GHz의 공진 주파수를 갖는다. 안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 1인 공기 중에 배치되면 1.88GHz 내지 2.05GHz의 주파수 대역에서 -10dB 이하의 반사 계수 값을 갖는다. 안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 1인 공기 중에 배치되면, 안테나 모듈(1000)은 1.94GHz의 공진 주파수를 갖는다. 따라서, 안테나 모듈(1000)이 부착되는 피부착물의 상대 유전율이 감소할수록 공진주파수가 고주파수 대역으로 이동한다. 이와 관련하여, 피부착물의 상대 유전율(Dk)에 따른 공진주파수 변화율은 상대 유전율(Dk)의 로그 스케일로 근사화될 수 있다. 따라서, 공진주파수 변화율은 △fc(Dk) = 0.1211*ln(Dk)+1로 결정될 수 있다.
도 16 및 도 17(b)를 참조하면, 안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 6.5인 유리 패널에 부착되면, 1.53GHz 내지 1.63GHz의 주파수 대역에서 3dB 이하의 축비(axial ratio) 값을 갖는다. 안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 6.5인 유리 패널에 부착되면, 안테나 모듈(1000)은 1.58GHz의 공진 주파수에서 1dB 이하의 가장 낮은 축비 값을 갖는다.
안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 2.7인 폴리카보네이트에 부착되면, 1.73GHz 내지 1.83GHz의 주파수 대역에서 주파수 대역에서 3dB 이하의 축비 값을 갖는다. 안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 2.7인 폴리카보네이트에 부착되면, 안테나 모듈(1000)은 1.78GHz의 공진 주파수에서 약 1.5dB의 축비 값을 갖는다. 따라서, 안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 6.5인 유리 패널에 부착 시 가장 낮은 축비 값을 갖는다.
안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 1인 공기 중에 배치되면 전체 주파수 대역에서 3dB를 초과하는 축비 값을 갖는다. 안테나 모듈(1000)이 상대 유전율(Dk)이 1인 공기 중에 배치되면, 안테나 모듈(1000)은 1.94GHz의 공진 주파수에서 3dB를 초과하는 약 5dB의 축비 값을 갖는다.
도 18(a)는 유리 패널에 배치된 안테나 모듈의 방사 패턴의 전면도를 나타낸다. 도 18(b) 및 도 18(c)은 유리 패널에 배치된 안테나 모듈의 YZ 평면 및 XZ 평면 상의 방사 패턴을 나타낸 것이다. 도 4 및 도 18을 참조하면, 급전 스터브인 제1 스터브(SB1)와 3개의 병렬 스터브인 제2 내지 제4 스터브(SB2, SB3, SB4)에 의해 대칭 구조가 형성될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 저고도각 이득이 개선되며, 수평방향으로 매우 우수한 무-지향성(omni-directional) 방사패턴 구현이 가능하다. 또한, 급전 스터브인 제1 스터브(SB1)와 3개의 병렬 스터브인 제2 내지 제4 스터브(SB2, SB3, SB4)의 연결 지점의 위치들을 최적화하여 정확히 90도 위상 차를 갖는 패치 안테나와 동일한 전류분포가 구현될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 위치 추적을 위한 GP, GNSS 안테나의 특정 동작 주파수에서 원형 편파 특성을 만족하는 안테나 모듈이 제공될 수 있다.
한편, 본 명세서에 따른 원형 편파로 동작하는 안테나 모듈에서 복수의 연결 패턴 구조는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 서로 다른 지점에서 연장되는 스터브 구조로 형성될 있다. 이에 따라, 스터브 구조가 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 연결되는 지점을 조정하여 안테나 모듈의 편파 특성을 조절할 수 있다.
이와 관련하여, 제2 연결 패턴(1120c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제2 지점에서 연장되는 제2 스터브(SB2)로 형성될 수 있다. 제3 연결 패턴(1130c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제3 지점에서 연장되는 제3 스터브(SB3)로 형성될 수 있다. 제4 연결 패턴(1140c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제4 지점에서 연장되는 제4 스터브(SB4)로 형성될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)와 제2 스터브(SB2)의 각도는 90도 이하의 제1 각도(α1)로 형성될 수 있다. 제2 스터브(SB2)와 제3 스터브(SB3)의 각도는 90도 이상의 제2 각도(α2)로 형성될 수 있다. 제3 스터브(SB3)와 제4 스터브(SB4)의 각도는 제1 각도(α1)와 동일한 각도로 형성될 수 있다. 제4 스터브(SB4)와 제1 스터브(SB1)의 각도는 제2 각도(α2)와 동일한 각도로 형성될 수 있다.
전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)이 동일 층 상에 배치되는 구조에서 제2 내지 제4 스터브(SB2, SB3, SB4)와 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 커패시터 구조는 비-연결 구조로 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 제2 스터브(SB2)의 일 측, 타 측 및 단부와 이격되도록 금속 패턴이 제거된 제2 슬롯 영역(SR2)이 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 제3 스터브(SB3)의 일 측, 타 측 및 단부와 이격되도록 금속 패턴이 제거된 제2 슬롯 영역(SR3)이 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 제4 스터브(SB4)의 일 측, 타 측 및 단부와 이격되도록 금속 패턴이 제거된 제4 슬롯 영역(SR4)이 형성될 수 있다.
따라서, 제2 연결 패턴(1110c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 제2 지점의 제1 스터브(SB1), 접지 영역(GR1) 및 제1 슬롯 영역(SR1)을 포함하도록 구성되어 제1 커패시턴스 값을 갖는 등가 회로로 동작할 수 있다. 제2 연결 패턴(1120c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 제2 지점의 제2 스터브(SB2) 및 제2 슬롯 영역(SR2)을 포함하도록 구성되어 제2 커패시턴스 값을 갖는 등가 회로로 동작할 수 있다. 제3 연결 패턴(1130c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 제4 지점의 제3 스터브(SB3) 및 제3 슬롯 영역(SR3)을 포함하도록 구성되어 제3 커패시턴스 값을 갖는 등가 회로로 동작할 수 있다. 제4 연결 패턴(1140c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 제4 지점의 제4 스터브(SB4) 및 제4 슬롯 영역(SR4)을 포함하도록 구성되어 제4 커패시턴스 값을 갖는 등가 회로로 동작할 수 있다.
한편, 본 명세서에 따른 원형 편파로 동작하는 안테나 모듈은 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 및 제2 면에 양면 구조로 형성될 수 있다. 이와 관련하여, 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면에 전도성 패치 영역(1100) 및 전도성 가이드 링(1100r) 이 배치될 수 있다. 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)이 배치될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 육각형 이상의 다각형 또는 원형 형상으로 형성될 수 있다.
전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 연결 패턴들을 형성하는 복수의 스터브들을 포함하도록 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 제1 스터브(SB1), 제2 스터브(SB2), 제3 스터브(SB3) 및 제4 스터브(SB4)를 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제1 지점에서 제1 연결 패턴(1110c)가 형성되는 제1 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제2 스터브(SB2)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제2 지점에서 제2 연결 패턴(1120c)가 형성되는 제2 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제3 스터브(SB3)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제3 지점에서 제3 연결 패턴(1130c)가 형성되는 제3 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제4 스터브(SB4)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제4 지점에서 제4 연결 패턴(1140c)가 형성되는 제4 방향으로 형성될 수 있다.
투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치된 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 연결 패턴들을 형성하는 복수의 스터브들을 포함하도록 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 제5 스터브(SB5), 제6 스터브(SB6), 제7 스터브(SB7) 및 제8 스터브(SB8)를 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 제5 스터브(SB5)는 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측의 제1 지점에서 제1 스터브(SB1)와 중첩되게 제1 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제6 스터브(SB6)는 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측의 제2 지점에서 제2 스터브(SB2)와 중첩되게 제2 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제7 스터브(SB7)는 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측의 제3 지점에서 제3 스터브(SB3)와 중첩되게 제3 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제8 스터브(SB8)는 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측의 제4 지점에서 제4 스터브(SB4)와 중첩되게 제4 방향으로 형성될 수 있다.

투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치된 제5 스터브(SB5)는 제1 너비(W1)보다 넓은 제2 너비(W2)로 형성될 수 있다. 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치된 제5 스터브(SB5)는 제1 길이(L1)보다 짧은 제3 길이(L3)로 형성될 수 있다. 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치된 제6 스터브(SB6) 내지 제8 스터브(SB8)는 제1 너비(W1) 및 제2 길이(L2)보다 짧은 제4 길이(L4)로 형성될 수 있다. 제6 스터브(SB6) 내지 제8 스터브(SB8)의 제4 길이(L4)는 제5 스터브(SB5)는 제3 길이(L3)보다 짧게 형성될 수 있다.
투명 기판(1010)의 제1 및 제2 면의 대응되는 스터브들은 소정 중첩 길이로 중첩되어 소정의 커패시턴스 값을 갖는 커패시터가 형성되도록 구성될 수 있다. 제2 스터브(SB2)와 제6 스터브(SB6)의 중첩 길이, 제3 스터브(SB3)와 제7 스터브(SB7)의 중첩 길이 및 제4 스터브(SB4)와 제8 스터브(SB8)의 중첩 길이는 동일하게 형성될 수 있다. 중첩 길이는 제6 스터브(SB6) 내지 제8 스터브(SB8)의 제4 길이(L4)보다 짧게 형성될 수 있다.
한편, 본 명세서에 따른 원형 편파 안테나의 특성은 스터브 구조의 중첩 구조 및 스터브 간 각도에 따라 조정될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 반경(Rp)과 전도성 패치 영역(1100)과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g) 사이의 제1 간격(Gg)에 의해 안테나 모듈의 공진 주파수가 조정될 수 있다. 또한, 제2 스터브(SB2) 내지 제4 스터브(SB4)의 제1 너비(W1)와 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측의 제2 간격(Wc1)의 곱에 의해 안테나 모듈의 공진 주파수가 조정될 수 있다. 이와 관련하여, 제2 간격(Wc1)은 제2 스터브(SB2) 내지 제4 스터브(SB4)의 종단과 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측까지의 길이로 정의될 수 있다.

제1 및 제2 스터브(SB1, SB2) 사이의 제1 각도(α1)는 45도보다 크고 90도보다 작은 범위에서 형성될 수 있다. 제1 및 제2 스터브(SB1, SB2) 사이의 제1 각도(α1)와 제2 및 제3 스터브(SB2, SB3) 사이의 제2 각도(α2)의 합은 150도보다 크고 210도보다 작은 범위에서 형성될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 안테나 모듈은 우수 원형 편파(right handed circular polarization, RHCP)의 신호를 방사하도록 구성될 수 있다.

도 1 내지 도 18을 참조하여, 본 명세서에 따른 원형 편파로 동작하는 안테나 모듈이 배치된 차량에 대해 설명한다. 차량(1)은 유리 패널(10) 및 안테나 모듈(1000)을 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 안테나 모듈(1000)은 투명 기판(1010), 전도성 접지 영역(conductive ground region)(1100g), 전도성 패치 영역(conductive patch region)(1100) 및 연결 패턴들(1100c)을 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 안테나 모듈(1000)은 제2 링 형상의 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)을 더 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다.
차량(1)에 유리 패널(10)이 구비될 수 있다. 유리 패널(10)은 차량(1)의 전면 유리(310), 후면 유리(330) 및 상부 유리 중 하나에 대응될 수 있다. 유리 패널(10)은 금속 프레임(9)에 결합될 수 있다. 금속 프레임(9)은 유리 패널(10)을 지지하는 지지부(9a)와 차량의 외부를 형성하는 외주부(9b) 및 지지부(9a)와 외주부(9b)사이의 연결부(9c)로 형성될 수 있다.
유리 패널(10)은 투명 영역(11) 및 불투명 영역(12)을 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 전면 유리(310)는 투명 영역(311) 및 불투명 영역(312)을 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 후면 유리(330)는 투명 영역(331) 및 불투명 영역(332)을 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 상부 유리는 투명 영역 및 불투명 영역을 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 투명 영역(11, 311, 331)은 불투명 영역(12, 312, 332)의 내측 영역에 형성될 수 있다. 투명 영역(11, 311, 331)의 투명도는 불투명 영역(12, 312, 332)의 투명도보다 높게 형성될 수 있다. 전면 유리(310)의 투명 영역(311)의 투명도가 후면 유리(330)의 투명 영역(331)의 투명도보다 높게 형성될 수 있다. 전면 유리(310)의 투명 영역(311)의 투명도가 상부 유리의 투명 영역의 투명도보다 높게 형성될 수 있다.
유리 패널(10)에 투명 기판(1010)이 부착될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 투명 기판(1010)에 제1 링 형상으로 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측과 이격되게 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내부 영역에 배치될 수 있다. 따라서, 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)을 둘러싸도록 형성될 수 있다.
연결 패턴들(1100c)은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)과 전도성 패치 영역(1100) 사이에 커패시턴스들을 형성하도록 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)에서 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 내측으로 연장되어 형성될 수 있다. 연결 패턴들(1100c)은 다른 층에서 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)과 전도성 패치 영역(1100) 간에 커플링되도록 일부 중첩된 구조로 형성될 수 있다. 연결 패턴들(1100c)은 동일 층에서 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)과 전도성 패치 영역(1100) 간에 커플링되도록 소정 간격으로 이격되어 형성될 수 있다. 따라서, 연결 패턴들(1100c)은 결합 구조, 커패시터 구조 또는 연결 패턴 구조 등으로 지칭될 수 있다.
연결 패턴들(1100c) 중 제1 연결 패턴(1110c)와 제2 연결 패턴(1120c)은 제1 각도(α1)로 이격되어 형성될 수 있다. 연결 패턴들(1100c) 중 제2 연결 패턴(1120c)와 제3 연결 패턴(1130c)은 제2 각도(α2)로 이격되어 형성될 수 있다. 연결 패턴들(1100c) 중 제3 연결 패턴(1130c)와 제4 연결 패턴(1140c)은 제1 각도(α1)와 동일한 각도로 이격되어 형성될 수 있다. 연결 패턴들(1100c) 중 제4 연결 패턴(1140c)와 제1 연결 패턴(1110c)의 각도는 제2 각도(α2)와 동일한 각도로 형성될 수 있다.
이와 관련하여, 제1 각도(α1) 및 제2 각도(α2) 중 하나는 90도보다 작은 각도이고 다른 하나는 90도보다 큰 각도일 수 있다. 예를 들어, 제1 각도(α1)는 90도보다 작은 각도이고 제2 각도(α2)는 90도보다 큰 각도로 형성될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 안테나 모듈이 우수 원형 편파(right handed circular polarization, RHCP)로 동작할 수 있다. 다른 예로, 제1 각도(α1)는 90도보다 큰 각도이고 제2 각도(α2)는 90도보다 작은 각도로 형성될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 안테나 모듈이 좌수 원형 편파(left handed circular polarization, LHCP)로 동작할 수 있다.
한편, 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)을 둘러싸도록 제2 링 형상으로 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 가이드 링(1100r)의 내측 반경은 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 외측 반경(Rg)보다 더 크게 형성될 수 있다.
전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 육각형 이상의 다각형 형상 원형 형상으로 형성될 수 있다. 도 11을 참조하면, 제1 연결 패턴(1110c)은 제1 스터브(SB1) 및 접지 영역(GR)을 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제1 지점에서 연장되어 형성될 수 있다. 접지 영역(GR)은 제1 스터브(SB1)의 일 측과 타 측 및 원주를 둘러싸도록 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 접지 영역(GR)과 이격되도록 금속 패턴이 제거되게 제1 슬롯 영역(SR1)이 형성될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)를 통해 특정 주파수 대역의 신호가 안테나 모듈로 인가될 수 있다.
한편, 제2 연결 패턴(1120c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제2 지점에서 연장되는 제2 스터브(SB2)로 형성될 수 있다. 제3 연결 패턴(1130c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제3 지점에서 연장되는 제3 스터브(SB3)로 형성될 수 있다. 제4 연결 패턴(1140c)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제4 지점에서 연장되는 제4 스터브(SB4)로 형성될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)와 제2 스터브(SB2)의 각도는 90도 이하의 제1 각도(α1)로 형성될 수 있다. 제2 스터브(SB2)와 제3 스터브(SB3)의 각도는 90도 이상의 제2 각도(α2)로 형성될 수 있다. 제3 스터브(SB3)와 제4 스터브(SB4)의 각도는 제1 각도(α1)와 동일한 각도로 형성될 수 있다. 제4 스터브(SB4)와 제1 스터브(SB1)의 각도는 제2 각도(α2)와 동일한 각도로 형성될 수 있다.
한편, 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면 및 제2 면 중 하나는 유리 패널에 부착될 수 있다. 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면 및 제2 면 중 다른 하나에 전도성 접지 영역(1100g), 전도성 패치 영역(1100), 전도성 가이드 링(1100r) 및 동축 케이블(100c)이 배치될 수 있다. 동축 케이블(100c)의 신호선(110c)이 제1 스터브(SB)에 연결되고 접지선(110g)이 접지 영역(GR)과 연결될 수 있다. 이에 따라, 동축 케이블(100c)의 신호선(110c)과 제1 스터브(SB1)를 통해 특정 주파수 대역의 신호가 안테나 모듈로 인가될 수 있다.
한편, 본 명세서에 따른 원형 편파로 동작하는 안테나 모듈은 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 및 제2 면에 양면 구조로 형성될 수 있다. 이와 관련하여, 투명 기판(1010)의 제1 면에 전도성 패치 영역(1100) 및 전도성 가이드 링(1100r) 이 배치될 수 있다. 투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)이 배치될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 육각형 이상의 다각형 또는 원형 형상으로 형성될 수 있다.
전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 연결 패턴들을 형성하는 복수의 스터브들을 포함하도록 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 패치 영역(1100)은 제1 스터브(SB1), 제2 스터브(SB2), 제3 스터브(SB3) 및 제4 스터브(SB4)를 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 제1 스터브(SB1)은 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제1 지점에서 제1 연결 패턴(1110c)가 형성되는 제1 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제2 스터브(SB2)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제2 지점에서 제2 연결 패턴(1120c)가 형성되는 제2 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제3 스터브(SB3)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제3 지점에서 제3 연결 패턴(1130c)가 형성되는 제3 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제4 스터브(SB4)는 전도성 패치 영역(1100)의 원주 상의 제4 지점에서 제4 연결 패턴(1140c)가 형성되는 제4 방향으로 형성될 수 있다.
투명 기판(1010)의 제2 면에 배치된 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 연결 패턴들을 형성하는 복수의 스터브들을 포함하도록 형성될 수 있다. 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)은 제5 스터브(SB5), 제6 스터브(SB6), 제7 스터브(SB7) 및 제8 스터브(SB8)를 포함하도록 구성될 수 있다. 제5 스터브(SB5)는 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측의 제1 지점에서 제1 스터브(SB1)와 중첩되게 제1 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제6 스터브(SB6)는 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측의 제2 지점에서 제2 스터브(SB2)와 중첩되게 제2 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제7 스터브(SB7)는 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측의 제3 지점에서 제3 스터브(SB3)와 중첩되게 제3 방향으로 형성될 수 있다. 제8 스터브(SB8)는 전도성 접지 영역(1100g)의 내측의 제4 지점에서 제4 스터브(SB4)와 중첩되게 제4 방향으로 형성될 수 있다.

본 명세서에 따르면, 기판 상에 초박형으로 구현된 평면형 원형 편파 안테나 모듈 및 이를 구비하는 차량을 제공할 수 있다.
본 명세서에 따르면, 금속 패턴들 간의 병렬 커패시터 구조를 통해 초박형 안테나는 안테나와 접지면이 거의 동일한 평면상에 위치하여 저고도각 성능을 구현하기 어렵다는 이슈를 해결할 수 있다.

  1. 원형 편파로 동작하는 안테나 모듈에 있어서,
    투명 기판;
    상기 투명 기판의 제1 면에 제1 링 형상으로 형성된 전도성 접지 영역(conductive ground region);
    상기 투명 기판의 제2 면에 상기 전도성 접지 영역의 내측으로부터 이격되게 상기 전도성 접지 영역의 내측 영역에 해당하는 상기 제1 면에 대향되는 상기 제2 면에 배치된 전도성 패치 영역(conductive patch region);
    상기 전도성 접지 영역의 내측면으로 연장되게 형성되는 제1 패턴들; 및
    상기 전도성 패치 영역의 외측면으로 연장되게 형성되는 제2 패턴들을 포함하고,
    상기 제1 패턴들과 상기 제2 패턴들의 일부분은 서로 중첩되게 형성되고,
    상기 서로 중첩되는 영역들은 상기 전도성 접지 영역의 인근에 형성되고,
    상기 제1 패턴들과 상기 제2 패턴들은 전기적으로 커플링 결합하는 복수의 연결 패턴들을 형성하고,

    상기 제3 연결 패턴은 상기 원주 상의 제3 지점에서 연장되는 제3 스터브로 형성되고,
    상기 제4 연결 패턴은 상기 원주 상의 제4 지점에서 연장되는 제4 스터브로 형성되고,
    상기 제1 스터브와 상기 제2 스터브의 각도는 90도 이하의 상기 제1 각도로 형성되고,
    상기 제2 스터브와 상기 제3 스터브의 각도는 90도 이상인 상기 제2 각도로 형성되고,
    상기 제3 스터브와 상기 제4 스터브의 각도는 상기 제1 각도와 동일한 각도로 형성되고,
    상기 제4 스터브와 상기 제1 스터브의 각도는 상기 제2 각도와 동일한 각도로 형성되는, 안테나 모듈.
  6. 제5 항에 있어서,
    상기 전도성 접지 영역은 상기 제2 스터브의 일 측, 타 측 및 단부와 이격 또는 중첩되도록 금속 패턴이 제거된 제2 슬롯 영역이 형성되고,
    상기 전도성 접지 영역은 상기 제3 스터브의 일 측, 타 측 및 단부와 이격 또는 중첩되도록 금속 패턴이 제거된 제3 슬롯 영역이 형성되고,
    상기 전도성 접지 영역은 상기 제4 스터브의 일 측, 타 측 및 단부와 이격 또는 중첩되도록 금속 패턴이 제거된 제4 슬롯 영역이 형성되는, 안테나 모듈.
  7. 제2 항에 있어서,
    상기 투명 기판의 상기 제1 면에 상기 전도성 패치 영역 및 상기 전도성 가이드 링이 배치되고,
    상기 투명 기판의 상기 제2 면에 상기 전도성 접지 영역이 배치되고,
    상기 전도성 접지 영역의 반경이 상기 전도성 패치 영역의 반경보다 더 크게 형성되고,
    상기 전도성 가이드 링의 반경이 상기 전도성 접지 영역의 반경보다 더 크게 형성되는, 안테나 모듈.
  8. 제7 항에 있어서,
    상기 전도성 패치 영역은 원형 형상으로 형성되고,
    상기 전도성 패치 영역은,
    원주 상의 제1 지점에서 상기 제1 연결 패턴이 형성되는 제1 방향으로 형성된 제1 스터브;
    상기 원주 상의 제2 지점에서 상기 제2 연결 패턴이 형성되는 제2 방향으로 형성된 제2 스터브;
    원주 상의 제3 지점에서 상기 제3 연결 패턴이 형성되는 제3 방향으로 형성된 제3 스터브; 및
    상기 원주 상의 제4 지점에서 상기 제4 연결 패턴이 형성되는 제4 방향으로 형성된 제4 스터브를 포함하는, 안테나 모듈.
  9. 제8 항에 있어서,
    상기 전도성 접지 영역은
    상기 내측의 제1 지점에서 상기 제1 스터브와 중첩되게 상기 제1 방향으로 형성된 제5 스터브;
    상기 내측의 제2 지점에서 상기 제2 스터브와 중첩되게 상기 제2 방향으로 형성된 제6 스터브;
    상기 내측의 제3 지점에서 상기 제3 스터브와 중첩되게 상기 제3 방향으로 형성된 제7 스터브; 및
    상기 내측의 제4 지점에서 상기 제4 스터브와 중첩되게 상기 제4 방향으로 형성된 제8 스터브를 포함하는, 안테나 모듈.
  10. 제9 항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 스터브와 상기 제2 스터브의 각도 및 상기 제5 스터브와 상기 제6 스터브의 각도는 90도 이하의 상기 제1 각도로 형성되고,
    상기 제2 스터브와 상기 제3 스터브의 각도 및 상기 제6 스터브와 상기 제7 스터브의 각도는 90도 이상인 상기 제2 각도로 형성되고,
    상기 제3 스터브와 상기 제4 스터브의 각도 및 상기 제7 스터브와 상기 제8 스터브의 각도는 상기 제1 각도와 동일한 각도로 형성되고,
    상기 제4 스터브와 상기 제1 스터브의 각도 및 상기 제8 스터브와 상기 제5 스터브의 각도는 상기 제2 각도와 동일한 각도로 형성되는, 안테나 모듈.
  11. 제9 항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 스터브는 제1 너비 및 제1 길이로 형성되고,
    상기 제2 스터브 내지 상기 제4 스터브는 동일한 제1 너비 및 제2 길이로 형성되고, 상기 제2 길이는 상기 제1 길이보다 더 길게 형성되고,
    상기 제5 스터브는 상기 제1 너비보다 넓은 제2 너비 및 상기 제1 길이보다 짧은 제3 길이로 형성되고,
    상기 제6 스터브 내지 상기 제8 스터브는 상기 제1 너비 및 상기 제2 길이보다 짧은 제4 길이로 형성되고,
    상기 제2 스터브와 상기 제6 스터브의 중첩 길이, 상기 제3 스터브와 상기 제7 스터브의 중첩 길이 및 상기 제4 스터브와 상기 제8 스터브의 중첩 길이는 동일하게 형성되고,
    상기 중첩 길이는 상기 제4 길이보다 짧게 형성되는, 안테나 모듈.
  12. 제9 항에 있어서,
    상기 전도성 패치 영역의 반경, 상기 전도성 패치 영역과 상기 전도성 접지 영역 사이의 제1 간격 및 상기 제2 스터브 내지 상기 제4 스터브의 제1 너비와 상기 제2 스터브 내지 상기 제4 스터브와 상기 전도성 접지 영역의 내측의 제2 간격의 곱에 의해 상기 안테나 모듈의 공진 주파수가 조정되고,
    상기 제1 각도 및 상기 제2 각도에 의해 상기 안테나 모듈의 원형 편파의 축비가 조정되고,
    상기 제1 스터브의 상기 제1 너비와 상기 제1 스터브와 상기 제5 스터브의 중첩 길이의 곱에 의해 상기 안테나 모듈의 임피던스 매칭이 이루어지고,
    상기 전도성 접지 영역과 상기 가이드 링 간의 제3 간격과 상기 가이드 링의 너비에 의해 상기 안테나 모듈의 이득이 조정되는, 안테나 모듈.
  13. 제1 항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 각도는 45도보다 크고 90도보다 작은 범위에서 형성되고,
    상기 제1 각도와 상기 제2 각도의 합은 150도보다 크고 210도보다 작은 범위에서 형성되고,
    상기 안테나 모듈은 우수 원형 편파(right handed circular polarization, RHCP)의 신호를 방사하도록 구성되는, 안테나 모듈.
  14. 제1 항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 각도는 90도보다 크고 135도보다 작은 범위에서 형성되고,
    상기 제1 각도와 상기 제2 각도의 합은 150도보다 크고 210도보다 작은 범위에서 형성되고,
    상기 안테나 모듈은 좌수 원형 편파(left handed circular polarization, RHCP)의 신호를 방사하도록 구성되는, 안테나 모듈.
