본 발명은 적어도 일면에 반응부가 형성되고, 상기 반응부의 테두리를 따라 돌출부가 구비된 분리판을 제공한다.

Description

분리판 및 분리판 구조체
본 발명은 분리판 및 분리판 구조체에 관한 것이다. 보다 구체적으로, 본 발명은 수전해 또는 연료전지 스택에 사용되는 분리판 및 분리판 구조체에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로 분리판은 연료전지나 수전해 스택에 사용되는 것으로 막전극접합체(MEA), 가스확산층(GDL)과 함께 스택을 구성하는 핵심부품이다. 연료전지에서 분리판은 반응가스인 수소와 공기 및 냉각수를 각각 분리하여 막전극접합체에 균일하게 공급하고 전기화학적 반응에 의해 생성되는 전류를 수집하고 전달할 수 있다. 수전해의 경우 반응물질인 물을 공급하고 인가된 전류를 균일하게 전달하여 전기화학적 반응으로 생성된 산소와 수소를 수집하는 역할을 한다.
종래에는 흑연분리판이나 흑연과 복합수지 재료를 이용한 분리판을 주로 사용하였으나, 최근 금속소재의 금속분리판이 스택을 소형화하고 제조비용을 감소시킬 수 있어서 사용이 빠르게 증가되고 있다.
분리판에 요구되는 특성은 우수한 전기전도성 및 열전도성, 내식성 및 낮은 기체투과성이며, 금속의 경우 강도 및 열전도성이 높은 장점이 있으나, 내식성이 낮고, 접촉저항이 증가되는 문제가 있다.
한편 고분자막으로 제조되는 막전극접합체의 경우 SUS 나 니켈 도금강판으로 제조되는 분리판 대비 강도가 매우 낮으며, 스택 체결 시 과합축되어 파손되며, 셀 체결 시 GDL이나 다공성수송층(PTL)의 정렬이 흐트러짐으로 인하여 스택의 내구성에 문제가 발생한다.
따라서 금속제 분리판을 사용하여 스택 제조 시 MEA가 과압축되어 파손되거나, GDL, PTL의 정렬이 흐르지는 것을 방지하고, 이를 고정하여 스택의 내구성을 향상시킬 수 있는 분리판이 개발이 시급한 실정이다.
관련 선행기술로 대한민국 특허 제10-1173058호가 있다.
본 발명의 목적은 금속제 분리판을 이용한 연료전지 또는 수전해 스택 제조 시 분리판 내부 공간에 배치되는 가스켓, 막전극접합체, 가스확산층이 과압축되는 것을 방지하여 스택의 성능 및 내구성을 향상할 수 있는 분리판 및 이를 포함하는 분리판 구조체를 제공하는 데 있다.
본 발명의 상기 및 기타 목적들은 하기 설명되는 본 발명에 의하여 모두 달성될 수 있다.
1. 본 발명의 일 측면은 분리판에 관한 것이다.
상기 분리판은 적어도 일면에 반응부가 형성되고, 상기 반응부의 테두리를 따라 돌출부가 구비된다.
2. 본 발명의 다른 측면은 분리판 구조체에 관한 것이다.
상기 분리판 구조체는 일면에 유로가 구비되고, 테두리를 따라 돌출부가 구비된 한 쌍의 분리판; 및 상기 분리판 사이에 배치되는 인서트;를 포함하고, 상기 돌출부가 서로 체결되어 상기 인서트를 고정한다.
3. 상기 2 구체예에서, 상기 분리판은 일면에 유로가 구비되거나, 양면에 유로가 구비될 수 있다.
4. 상기 2 또는 3 구체예에서, 상기 돌출부는 분리판이 적층되는 방향을 따라서 상방으로 연장되는 상부 돌출부 또는 하방으로 연장되는 하부 돌출부를 구비할 수 있다.
5. 상기 2 내지 4 중 어느 하나의 구체예에서, 상기 상부 돌출부는 외측자리에서 연장되는 돌기가 구비되고, 상기 하부 돌출부 외측자리에 홈이 형성될 수 있다.
6. 상기 2 내지 5 중 어느 하나의 구체예에서, 상기 상부 돌출부의 외측자리에서 연장되며 경사면을 가지는 돌기와, 상기 하부 돌출부 외측자리에 경사면을 가지는 홈이 형성될 수 있다.
7. 상기 2 내지 6 중 어느 하나의 구체예에서, 상기 돌기와 홈의 높이는 하기 식 1 및 식 2에 따라 결정되는 것인, 분리판 구조체:

8. 상기 2 내지 7 중 어느 하나의 구체예에서, 상기 상부 돌출부는 단면이 반원인 돌기가 구비되고, 상기 하부 돌출부는 단면이 반원인 홈이 형성될 수 있다.
9. 상기 2 내지 8 중 어느 하나의 구체예에서, 상기 인서트는 막전극접합체와 상기 막전극접합체 양면에 구비되는 가스확산층 또는 다공성수송층을 포함할 수 있다.
10. 상기 2 내지 9 중 어느 하나의 구체예에서, 상기 돌출부 일측에 가스켓이 구비될 수 있다.
11. 상기 2 내지 10 중 어느 하나의 구체예에서, 상기 상부 돌출부 및 하부 돌출부가 체결된 상태의 하부 돌출부의 높이는 하기 식 3에 따라 결정될 수 있다.

12. 본 발명의 다른 구체예는 서로 대항하는 돌출부가 체결되는 분리판 구조체에 관한 것이다.
상기 분리판 구조체는 테두리를 따라 제1 돌출부가 구비된 제1 분리판;
상기 제1 돌출부에 대응되며, 테두리를 따라 제2 돌출부가 구비된 제2 분리판; 및
상기 제1 분리판과 제2 분리판 사이에 배치되는 인서트;를 포함하고,
상기 제1 돌출부와 제2 돌출부가 서로 체결된다.
13. 상기 12 구체예에서, 상기 제1 분리판 및 제2 분리판 일면에 유로가 구비될 수 있다.
14. 상기 12 또는 13구체예에서, 상기 제1 돌출부와 제2 돌출부는 서로 끼움 맞춤 구조를 구비하여 제1 분리판과 제2 분리판을 서로 밀봉할 수 있다.
15. 상기 12 내지 14 중 어느 하나의 구체예에서, 상기 제1 분리판과 제1 돌출부는 일체로 형성되고, 제2 분리판과 제2 돌출부가 일체로 형성될 수 있다.
16. 상기 12 내지 15 중 어느 하나의 구체예에서, 상기 제1 돌출부의 외측자리에서 연장되는 돌기와, 상기 제2 돌출부 외측자리에 형성되는 홈이 서로 체결될 수 있다.

본 발명에 따른 분리판 및 분리판 구조체는 가스켓과 막전극접합체 또는 다공성수송층 등 금속제 분리판보다 강도가 낮은 부재가 셀 제조시 과압축되어 파손되는 것을 방지할 수 있으며, 분리판 내부에서 막전극접합체 또는 다공성수송층의 정렬이 흐트러져 스택의 성능 및 내구성이 감소되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
또한 분리판 구조체는 분리판에 의한 과압축을 방지하기 위한 별도의 가스켓이나 스토퍼부재를 분리판에 융착시키지 않고도 분리판 사이를 이격시키고, 체결압을 조절하여 가스켓, 막전극접합체 및 다공성수송층의 등의 인서트 부재가 과압축되는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
분리판 구조체는 분리판 대비 강도가 낮은 가스확산층이나 다공성수송층의 높이 대비 약 50% 내지 90%의 높이를 가지는 돌출부를 구비하여 분리판이 막전극접합체 및 다공성수송층을 고정할 뿐만 아니라 적절한 체결압력을 유지하여 인서트 부재의 과압축을 방지하면서도 금속제 분리판의 단점인 분리판의 과도한 접촉저항의 발생을 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있다.

도 1을 참조하면, 본 발명의 일 구체예에 따른 분리판(100)은 반응부(130) 및 돌출부(110, 120)가 구비된다.
상기 반응부(130)는 분리판(100)의 적어도 일면에 형성될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 상기 반응부(130)는 분리판(100) 일면에서 연료, 공기, 또는 냉각수가 흐르는 유로(130)를 포함할 수 있다.
도 1a를 참조하면, 상기 돌출부(110, 120)는 반응부(130)의 주위의 테두리를 따라 구비될 수 있다. 상기 돌출부(110, 120)는 상기 반응부(130)의 모서리에 일정 높이로 돌출되어 구비될 수 있으며, 분리판(100)이 적층되어 스택을 형성하는 경우 상기 돌출부(110)의 높이에 의해 어느 하나의 분리판(100)과 인접하는 분리판(100)과의 간격을 조절하고 분리판(100)이 막전극접합체와 접하여 가압하는 체결압을 제한하여 분리판 내부에 안착되는 막전극접합체(MEA), 가스확산층(GDL) 또는 다공성수송층(PTL)를 포함하는 인서트의 파손을 방지할 수 있다.
상기 돌출부(110, 120)가 구비되어 상기 인서트가 과도한 체결압에 의해서 손상되는 것을 효과적으로 방지할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 돌출부(112, 120)의 구조에 의해 막전극접합체가 끼워져 단단하게 고정될 수 있는 장점을 가지며, 이에 따라 연료전지 또는 수전해 스택의 전기화학반응 효율 및 내구성을 증가시킬 수 있다.
도 1b를 참조하면, 일 구체예에서, 상기 돌출부(110)가 분리판 적층 방향으로 절곡되어 구비될 수 있으며, 이 경우에도 상기 돌출부(110)의 높이로 분리판 사이 간격을 조절하고, 분리판 구조체를 형성하여 단위 셀의 형태를 지지하고, 내부에 안착되는 막전극접합체 등을 고정할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 구체예에 따른 분리판은 금속제일 수 있으며, 내부에 안착되는 막전극접합체, 가스확산층 등 분리판 보다 강도가 낮은 부재의 파손을 방지하고, 이를 고정하여 스택의 내구성을 향상시킬 수 있다.

도 2 내지 8을 참조하면, 상기 분리판 구조체(1000)는 한 쌍의 분리판(100) 및 인서트(200)를 포함한다.
상기 분리판(100)은 연료전지 또는 수전해 스택에 사용될 수 있다.
상기 분리판(100)은 알루미늄 합금, 스테인리스 강 또는 타이타늄 합금으로 금속제일 수 있으며, 높은 강도와 내식성을 갖는다.
상기 분리판(100)은 상기 인서트(200) 대비 높은 강도를 갖기 때문에 스택 제조 과정에서 상기 인서트(200)를 강하게 압착하여 손상시킬 수 있으며, 상기 인서트(200) 파손을 방지하기 위한 구성이 요구된다. 종래에는 상기 인서트(200)의 과압축에 의한 파손을 방지하기 위해서 분리판(100) 자체에 가스켓 또는 스토퍼 부재를 융착하는 방법이 주로 사용되나, 본 발명의 일 구체예에 따른 상기 분리판(100)은 가스켓 또는 스토퍼 부재가 별도로 분리판(100)에 융착되지 않는다.
상기 분리판(100)은 가스켓, 스토퍼 부재가 직접 융착되지 않아서 제조 공정이 단축되고, 작업 공수가 감소될 뿐만 아니라, 분리판(100) 자체만으로 인서트(200)의 손상을 효과적으로 방지할 수 있다.
상기 분리판 구조체(1000)는 연료전지 또는 수전해 스택에서 단위 셀을 구성하며, 스택 내에서 단위 셀을 분리하는 동시에 셀 간의 전자 이동 통로의 역할을 수행할 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 분리판(100)은 일면 또는 양면에 유로(130)가 구비될 수 있다.
상기 유로(130)는 수소 또는 공기를 전달하는 유로(130)와, 냉각수 또는 전기화학반응에 의해 생성된 물이 유동할 수 있는 통로를 제공할 수 있다.
도 3을 참조하면, 상기 분리판(100)의 일면에 유로(130)가 구비되며, 이 경우 단위 셀이 Y 축 방향을 따라 적층될 수 있고 돌출부(110, 120)에 의해 단위 셀의 구조가 지지될 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 단위 셀 사이에 공간에 다공성 수송체(600)가 구비될 수 있으며, 상기 다공성 수송체(600)의 경우 다수의 기공을 포함하는 입체 구조로 형성되어 유로 대신 유체의 이동이 가능하다.
상기 다공성 수송체(600) 일측에 막전극접합체(260)가 배치될 수 있으며, 다공성 수송체를 통하여 연료 및 공기가 전달되면, 막전극접합체(260)로 유입되어 전지화학반응 및 수전해 반응이 발생될 수 있다.
도 4를 참조하면, 상기 분리판(100)의 양면에 유로(130)가 구비될 수 있으며, 이 경우 셀에 도입되는 유체의 유동을 증가시킬 수 있다.
상기 분리판(100)은 테두리를 따라 돌출부(110, 120)가 구비된다.
상기 분리판 구조체(1000)는 한 쌍의 분리판(100)을 포함하여, 단위 셀을 이루며, 상기 각 분리판에 돌출부(110, 120)가 구비되고, 상기 돌출부(110, 120)가 서로 체결되어 상기 인서트(200)를 가압할 수 있다.
상기 돌출부(110, 120)가 구비되어 상기 분리판은 인서트(200)가 배치될 공간을 제공하며, 인서트(200)의 압축정도를 조절할 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 돌출부(110, 120)는 분리판이 적층되는 방향(Y 축 방향)을 따라서 상방으로 연장되는 상부 돌출부(110) 또는 하방으로 연장되는 하부 돌출부(120)를 구비할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 상부 및 하부 방향으로 연장된 형상을 가지는 돌출부(110, 120)를 구비할 수 있다.
상기 상부 돌출부(110) 및 하부 돌출부(120)의 형상은 동일할 수 있으며, 일단에 평활부가 형성되어 돌출부끼리 서로 맞닿아 견고하게 체결될 수 있다.
상기 돌출부(110, 120)끼리 체결방법은 금속제 분리판을 접합시킬 수 있는 방법이면 제한되지 않는다. 예를 들면, 돌출부에 체결구조를 도입하는 물리적 결합과 용접을 통하여 돌출부 사이에 비드부를 형성하여 금속 원자의 구조를 변화시키는 화학적 결합을 포함할 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 분리판 구조체(1000)는 수전해 셀에 사용되는 것일 수 있으며, 수전해 셀인 경우 유로가 양면에 구비되어 반응물질인 물이 냉각수 역할을 수행하도록 할 수 있다. 상기 유로(130)가 분리판(100)양면에 구비되는 경우 하나의 분리판(100)에 음극과 양극이 존재할 수 있으며, 이 경우 전자가 분리판을 통해 바로 이동 가능하기 때문에 분리판 내 전기전도저항을 감소시킬 수 있는 효과를 나타낼 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 상부 돌출부(110)는 외측자리에서 연장되는 돌기(110a)가 구비되고, 상기 하부 돌출부(120) 외측자리에 홈(120b)이 형성될 수 있다.
상기 돌출부(110, 120)의 일단의 평활부는 대향하는 돌출부(110, 120) 간의 체결력을 증가시키기 위한 체결구조를 더 구비할 수 있다.
도 5 및 6을 참조하면, 한 쌍의 분리판(100) 중 어느 하나의 분리판(100)에서 상부 돌출부(110) 일단 외측자리에 돌기(110a)가 구비되고, 하부 돌출부(120)의 외측자리에는 상기 돌기(110a)에 대응하는 홈(120b)이 형성될 수 있다.
상기 돌기(110a)와 홈(120b)이 서로 대응되며, 체결될 수 있는 구조로 분리판(100)이 제조되어, 한 쌍의 분리판(100)이 서로 정확하게 맞물려 체결될 수 있으며, 내부에 인서트(200)가 배치되고 단위 셀을 구성할 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 상부 돌출부(110)의 외측자리에서 연장되며 경사면(111a)을 가지는 돌기(110a)와, 상기 하부 돌출부(120) 외측자리에 경사면(121b)을 가지는 홈(120b)이 형성될 수 있다.
상기 경사면(111a)을 가지는 돌기(110a)와 경사면(121b)을 가지는 홈(120b)이 형성되는 경우 분리판을 연속으로 적층하여 스택을 제조할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 상기 경사면(111a, 121b)이 돌기(110a)와 홈(120b)이 맞닿는 과정에서 이동 방향을 가이드 할 수 있기 때문에 스택을 제조하기 위한 분리판(100) 적층 공정에서 분리판(100)을 적층하기 위한 별도의 정밀한 측정 지그없이 한 쌍의 분리판(100) 중 어느 하나의 분리판(100)에 다른 분리판(100)을 용이하게 적층하여 스택을 제조할 수 있으며, 제조공정 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 돌기(110a)와 홈(120b)의 높이는 하기 식 1 및 식 2에 따라 결정될 수 있다.

여기서, h0은 상부 또는 하부 돌출부(120)의 높이이고, h1은 상부 돌출부(110)의 돌기(110a)의 높이이며, h2는 하부 돌출부(120)의 홈(120b)의 깊이이다.
상기 상부 또는 하부 돌출부(110, 120)의 높이(h0)는 동일하고, 상기 상부 돌출부(110)의 돌기(110a)의 높이 및 하부 돌출부(120)의 홈(120b)이 깊이 또한 동일하기 때문에 어느 하나의 분리판의 홈(120b)에 돌기(110a)가 삽입되어 견고하게 고정될 수 있다.
상기 돌기(110a) 및 홈(120b)의 깊이가 상기 범위 내로 조절되는 경우 분리판(100) 사이의 체결력을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 상기 상부 및 하부 돌출부(110, 120)의 구조를 유지하면서 분리판(100) 내부를 효과적으로 밀봉시킬 수 있다.
도 7을 참조하면, 일 구체예에서, 상기 상부 돌출부(110)는 단면이 반원인 돌기(112)가 구비되고, 상기 하부 돌출부(120)는 단면이 반원인 홈(122)이 형성될 수 있다.
상기 한 쌍의 분리판(100) 중 어느 하나의 분리판(100)의 상부 돌출부(110)에서 반원 형태의 돌기(112)가 구비되고, 이에 대응하는 반원 형태의 홈(122)이 하부 돌출부(120)에 형성되어 상기 분리판(100)이 연속 적층될 수 있다.
상기 반원 형태의 돌기(112) 및 홈(122)이 구비되는 경우 돌출부(110, 120) 간의 체결면적이 증가되어 분리판(100) 사이 공간을 보다 효과적으로 밀봉할 수 있다.
상기 상부 및 하부 돌출부(110, 120)는 다양한 형상의 돌기(110a, 112)와 이에 대응하는 홈(120b, 122)이 형성되어 체결력이 증가되어 서로 견고하여 체결되며, 상기 분리판(100) 내부 공간을 효과적으로 밀봉시킬 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 인서트(200)는 막전극접합체(MEA; 260), 상기 막전극접합체 양면에 구비되는 가스확산층(240)을 포함할 수 있다.
구체적으로 상기 막전극접합체(260)는 전해질막(220) 양면에 전극(210, 230)이 구비되며, 상기 전극(210, 230) 양면에 가스확산층(240; GDL) 또는 다공성수송층(240; PTL)을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 인서트(200)는 상기 분리판(100)에 의해 과압축되어 쉽게 손상될 수 있으며, 지속적인 가압으로 내구성이 감소될 수 있다.
상기 인서트(200)가 상기 한 쌍의 분리판(100) 사이에 배치되어 단위 셀을 형성할 수 있으며, 분리판(100)이 적층되어 스택을 형성하는 경우에 상기 돌출부(110, 120)가 분리판(100)을 지지하여 단위 셀 형태를 유지시킬 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 상부 및 하부 돌출부(110, 120) 일측에 가스켓(300a, 300b)이 구비될 수 있다.
종래 금속제 분리판은 가스켓 또는 스톱퍼 부재가 분리판에 융착되어 인서트(200)가 과압축되는 것을 방지하나, 상기 가스켓 또한 분리판 보다 강도가 낮기 때문에 과압축으로 파손되는 문제가 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 가스켓(300a, 300b)은 분리판(100)의 압력을 지지하는 부재가 아니며, 분리판(100) 사이 공간을 밀폐시키기 위해서 구비되는 것으로 종래 분리판 지지용 가스켓 보다 낮은 강도를 가지는 것도 사용이 가능하여 스택의 제조비용을 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있다.
상기 가스켓(300a, 300b)은 분리되어 한 쌍의 분리판(100) 각각에 구비되며, 분리판(100)이 서로 체결되는 경우 분리판(100)에 밀착되어 분리판(100) 내부의 밀봉 효과를 증가시킬 수 있다.
상기 가스켓은(300)은 단일 몸체로 구비될 수 있으며, 상기 분리판(100)의 돌출부의 외주를 따라 배치되는 것도 가능하다. 상기 가스켓(300)이 단일 몸체로 구비되는 경우에도 분리판(100)과 돌출부(110, 120)에 의해 형성되는 공간에 가스켓(300)을 끼워서 고정하고, 다른 분리판(100)을 적층하여 가스켓(300)을 고정할 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 상부 돌출부(110) 및 하부 돌출부(120)가 체결된 상태의 돌출부(110, 120) 전체의 높이는 하기 식 3에 따라 결정될 수 있다.

여기서, H1은 하부 돌출부(120)의 높이이고, H3은 인서트(200)의 가스확산층(240)의 두께이다.
도 2를 참조하면, 상기 하부 돌출부(120)의 높이는 분리판(100) 내부면을 기준으로 적층 방향(Y 축 방향)을 따라서 하방으로 연장된 길이이다.
상기 하부 돌출부(120)의 높이에 따라 상기 분리판(100)에 의한 가스확산층(240)의 압축정도를 조절할 수 있다.
상기 상부 돌출부(110)의 높이는 H2이고, 마찬가지로 상기 식 3의 범위 내로 H2가 조절될 수 있다.
구체적으로 상기 식 3에 따라 상부 돌출부(110)의 높이와 하부 돌출부(120)의 각각의 높이가 상기 식 3에 따라 상기 인서트(200)의 어느 일 면의 가스확산층(240) 두께의 약 50% 내지 90%(예를 들면 50, 60, 70, 80 또는 90%)가 되도록 조절하는 경우에는 원래 가스확산층(240)의 두께 보다 낮은 높이로 분리판(100)의 간격이 조절되며, 분리판(100)이 가스확산층(240)을 가압하여 인서트(200)를 견고하게 고정할 수 있다.
상기 범위 내의 상부 및 하부 돌출부(110, 120)의 높이에 따라 분리판(100)이 인서트(200)와 밀착되고, 가스확산층(240)을 일정하게 압축하여 고정할 수 있으며, 가스확산층(240)의 손상이나, 막전극접합체(260)의 손상으로 인한 접촉저항이 과도하게 증가되는 것을 방지하여 본 발명의 효과를 구현할 수 있다.
상기 돌출부(110, 120)의 높이를 조절하여, 상기 가스확산층(240)을 포함하는 인서트(200)뿐만 아니라 돌출부(110, 120) 일측에 구비되는 가스켓(300a, 300b) 또한 과압축에 의한 변형을 방지할 수 있으며, 단위 셀 제조 및 스택 적층 공정에서 인서트의 손상을 방지하고, 스택의 내구성을 증가시킬 수 있다.
도 8을 참조하면, 상기 분리판 구조체(1000)를 포함하는 단위 셀이 수직 방향으로 적층되어 스택(2000)을 이룰 수 있다. 분리판(100)에 가스켓(300)이나 스톱퍼 부재를 융착하는 공정이 배제되어 스택 제조효율이 향상되고, 분리판(100)과 일체로 형성된 돌출부(110, 120)의 높이를 조절하여 막전극접합체를 포함하는 인서트(200)의 과압축을 방지하여 셀 스택의 전기화학반응 효율 및 내구성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
상기 분리판(100)은 돌출부(110, 120)가 구비되고, 내측에 인서트(200) 모서리 형상에 대응되도록 형성되어 분리판(100) 사이 공간에 인서트(200)가 끼움 고정될 수 있으며, 상기 인서트(200)가 셀 제조나 스택 적층 시 이동이나 진동에 의해 정렬이 흐트러지는 것을 방지할 수 있다.
상기 분리판(100)이 인서트(200)의 표면을 가압하되, 돌출부(110, 120)의 높이가 조절되어 인서트(100)가 과압축되지 않으므로, 분리판과 인서트(200)간의 접촉저항 또한 감소시킬 수 있다.
상기 분리판 구조체(1000)는 단위 셀을 형성하고, 적층되어 스택(2000)을 형성하여 연료전지 또는 수전해 스택으로 사용될 수 있고, 상기 분리판 구조체(1000)를 포함하는 연료전지 또는 수전해 장치의 효율 및 내구성을 효과적으로 증가시킬 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 구체예는 서로 대향하는 돌출부가 체결되는 분리판 구조체(1000)에 관한 것이다.

도 9 내지 14를 참조하면, 상기 분리판 구조체(1000)는 제1 분리판(400), 제2 분리판(500) 및 인서트(200)를 포함한다.
상기 제1 분리판(400) 및 제2 분리판(500)은 상술한 분리판(100)과 동일한 소재로 동일 구조의 분리판(400, 500)의 일면에 유체가 흐르는 유로(410, 510)를 구비할 수 있다.
상기 제1 분리판(400)은 테두리를 따라 제1 돌출부(420)가 구비될 수 있다.
상기 제2 분리판(500)은 상기 제1 분리판(400)과 동일 부재로 테두리를 따라 제2 돌출부(520)가 구비될 수 있다.
상기 제1 분리판(400)과 제2 분리판(500)이 서로 체결될 수 있다.
상기 제1 돌출부(420)와 제2 돌출부(520)가 서로 체결되어 분리판(400, 500) 사이에서 내부에 공간을 형성하고, 분리판 구조체(1000)의 구조적 형태를 유지시킬 수 있다.
상기 인서트(200)는 상기 제1 분리판(400)과 제2 분리판(500) 사이에 배치된다. 구체적으로 상기 제1 돌출부(420)와 제2 돌출부(520)가 서로 체결되어 형성되는 제1, 제2 분리판(400, 500) 사이 공간에 삽입되며, 분리판(400, 500)의 내면에 가압되어, 고정될 수 있다.
도 9를 참조하면, 일 구체예에서, 상기 분리판 구조체(1000)가 단위 셀을 이루고, 단위 셀이 차례대로 적층되어 스택의 일부를 구성할 수 있다.
서로 대향하는 상기 돌출부(420, 520)을 구비하는 제1 분리판(400)과 제2 분리판(500)으로 분리판 구조체(1000)을 제조하는 경우에는 적층이 매우 용이하고 스택을 매우 효율적으로 제조할 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 제1 돌출부(420)와 제2 돌출부(520)는 서로 끼움 맞춤 구조를 구비할 수 있다.
상기 끼움 맞춤 구조는 제1 돌출부(420)의 일단이 제2 돌출부(520)의 일단과 물리적, 화학적으로 접합되는 것을 의미한다. 예를 들면, 제1 돌출부(420)와 제2 돌출부(520)가 서로 체결되어 물리적으로 결합되고, 가열이나 용접에 의해 화학적 결합되는 것을 포함할 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 끼움 맞춤 구조는 제1 분리판(400)과 제2 분리판(500)을 서로 밀봉할 수 있고, 상기 제1 돌출부(420)와 제2 돌출부(520) 사이를 접합하여 제1 분리판(400)과 제2 분리판(500)을 밀봉시킬 수 있다.
상기 제1 분리판(400)과 제1 돌출부(420)는 일체로 형성되고, 제2 분리판(500)과 제2 돌출부(520)가 일체로 형성될 수 있다. 구체적으로 상기 제1 분리판(400) 일단에 제1 돌출부(410)가 절곡되어 제2 분리판(500)을 향하여 연장되어 형성되고, 상기 제2 분리판(500) 일단에 제2 돌출부(520) 또한 절곡되고 제1 분리판(400)을 향하여 연장된 형태일 수 있다.
상기 제1 분리판(400)과 제1 돌출부(410), 제2 분리판(500)과 제2 돌출부(520)가 일체로 형성되어 분리판(400, 500) 제조효율을 증가시킬 수 있으며, 종래 분리판에 가스켓 또는 스톱퍼 부재를 융착시키는 구성 대비 제조비용을 효과적으로 감소시킬 수 있다.
상기 제1 분리판(400) 및 제2 분리판(500)이 제1 돌출부(420)와 제2 돌출부(520)의 형상으로 내부에 공간이 형성되면, 인서트(200) 일단이 분리판(400, 500)에 끼워지고 분리판(400, 500) 내부면에 밀착된 상태로 고정될 수 있으며, 단위 셀 제조 및 스택 제조 시 인서트(200)의 정렬이 흐트러지지 않아서 셀의 전기화학반응 효율 및 셀 내구성을 효과적으로 증가시킬 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 제1 돌출부(420)의 외측자리에서 연장되는 돌기(421)와, 상기 제2 돌출부(520) 외측자리에 형성되는 홈(521)이 서로 체결될 수 있다.
도 10 및 11를 참조하면, 상기 제1 돌출부(420)의 외측자리에서 연장되는 돌기(421)가 구비되고, 제2 돌출부(520) 외측자리에 상기 돌기(421)에 대응되는 홈(521)이 형성되어 상기 돌기(421)와 홈(521)이 체결된다.
상기 제1 돌출부(420) 및 제2 돌출부(520)의 일단의 형태가 변경되어 체결력을 증가시키는 체결구조를 갖는다.
상기 돌기(421)와 홈(521)이 체결되는 경우 제1 돌출부(420)와 제2 돌출부(520) 간의 체결력을 증가시킬 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 제1 돌출부(420)의 외측자리에서 연장되며 경사면(421a)을 가지는 돌기(421)와, 상기 제2 돌출부(520) 외측자리에 형성되며 경사면(521b)을 가지는 홈(521)이 서로 체결될 수 있다.
상기 제1 돌출부(420)가 경사면(421a)을 가지는 돌기(421)로 구비되고, 제2 돌출부(520)의 홈(521)에 경사면(521b)이 형성되는 경우 상기 제1 분리판(400)과 제2 분리판(500)이 서로 접근하고, 상기 경사면이 돌기(421)와 홈(521)이 맞닿는 과정에서 이동 방향을 가이드 할 수 있기 때문에 단위 셀을 제조하기 위하여 별도의 정확성을 요하는 지그없이 제1 분리판(400)에 제2 분리판(500)을 체결할 수 있으며, 단위 셀 제조 및 스택 제조공정의 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 돌기(421)와 홈(521)의 높이는 하기 식 4 및 식 5에 따라 결정되는 것인, 분리판 구조체:

상기 돌기(421)의 높이와 홈(521)의 깊이를 상기 범위 내로 제한하는 경우 체결력이 증가되어 제1 분리판(400)과 제2 분리판(500) 사이를 보다 효과적으로 밀봉할 수 있으며, 제1, 제2 돌출부(420, 520)의 제조 편이성을 확보할 수 있다.
도 13을 참조하면, 일 구체예에서, 상기 제1 돌출부(420)는 단면이 반원인 돌기(423)가 구비되고, 상기 제2 돌출부(520)는 단면이 반원인 홈(523)이 형성될 수 있다.
상기 제1 돌출부(420)에 반원 형태의 돌기(423)가 구비되고, 제2 돌출부(520)에 이에 대응되는 반원 형태의 홈(523)이 형성되는 경우 제1 돌출부(420) 및 제2 돌출부(520) 간의 체결면적을 증가시켜 밀봉 효과를 증가시킬 수 있으며, 제1 분리판(400)과 제2 분리판(500)의 체결과정의 용이성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 인서트(200)는 막전극접합체(260), 상기 막전극접합체 양면에 구비되는 가스확산층(240) 또는 다공성수송층(240)을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 인서트(200)의 구성은 상술한 인서트(200)와 동일한 부재이다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 제1 돌출부(420) 및 제2 돌출부(520) 일측에 가스켓(300)이 구비될 수 있다.
예를 들면 제1 돌출부(420) 또는 제2 돌출부(520)의 내측 방향으로 구비될 수 있으며, 상기 가스켓은 제1 분리판(400) 또는 제2 분리판(500)에 융착되지 않는다.
일 구체예에서, 상기 제1 돌출부(420) 및 제2 돌출부(520)가 체결된 상태의 돌출부(420, 520) 전체의 높이는 하기 식 6에 따라 결정될 수 있다.

약 0.5 × H6 ≤ H4 ≤ 0.9 × H6
여기서, H4은 제1 돌출부(420)의 높이이고, H6은 인서트(200)의 가스확산층(240)두께이다.
도 7을 참조하면, 상기 제1 돌출부(420)의 높이는 절곡된 위치에서 제2 분리판(500)을 향하여 연장된 길이이고, 제2 돌출부(520)의 높이는 절곡된 위치에서 제1 분리판(400)을 향하여 연장된 길이이다.
상기 식 6에 따라 제1 돌출부(420)의 높이(H4)가 상기 범위 내로 조절되어 구체적으로 인서트(200)의 가스확산층(240) 두께의 약 50% 내지 90%(예를 들면, 50, 60, 70, 80, 또는 90%)의 높이를 갖을 수 있다. 상기 제2 돌출부(520)의 높이(H5)는 상기 식 6에서 H6의 두께의 약 50% 내지 90%(예를 들면, 50, 60, 70, 80, 또는 90%)의 높이를 가질 수 있다.
상기 제1 돌출부(420) 및 제2 돌출부(520)의 높이가 식 6에 따라 제한되는 경우 상기 제1 분리판(400)과 제2 분리판(500)이 상기 인서트(200) 및 가스켓(300)을 과압축하지 않으면서도 상기 인서트(200)를 제1 분리판(400) 및 제2 분리판(500) 사이에 견고하게 고정할 수 있고, 단위 셀의 전기화학반응 효율을 증가시키고, 단위 셀 내구성 또한 효과적으로 향상시킬 수 있다.
도 14를 참조하면, 상기 단위 셀을 적층하여 스택(2000)을 제조할 수 있으며, 연료전지 또는 수전해 스택으로 활용이 가능하고, 분리판 구조체(1000)를 포함하는 경우 제조비용뿐만 아니라 제조효율을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 연료전지, 수전해 스택의 내구성을 확보할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 분리판 구조체(1000)는 분리판 적층 시 가압에 의한 막전극접합체, 가스확산층(240) 및 다공성수송층(240)을 포함하는 인서트(200)의 과압축을 방지하기 위하여 분리판에 별도의 가스켓이나 스톱퍼 부재를 융착하는 공정을 배제하며 금속제 분리판의 모서리에 돌출부(110, 120)를 형성하는 것만으로 분리판 구조체의 형상을 유지시킬 수 있다. 돌출부(110, 120)의 높이를 조절하여 인서트(200)가 과압축되는 것을 방지할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 돌출부(110, 120) 형상에 따른 단차 구조로 인서트(200)를 끼워서 고정 때문에 단위 셀 제조 및 스택 제조 시 인서트(200) 정렬이 흐트러짐에 따른 손상 및 셀 불량을 방지할 수 있다. 또한 분리판 내면이 인서트(200) 외면에 밀착되고 돌출부(110, 120)의 높이가 인서트(200)의 가스확산층 또는 다공송수송층 두께보다 낮게 조절되어 인서트(200)는 분리판 내면에 접하게 되고, 가압되어 분리판에서의 접촉저항도 현저하게 감소시킬 수 있다.
이제까지 본 발명에 대하여 실시예들을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자는 본 발명이 본 발명의 본질적인 특성에서 벗어나지 않는 범위에서 변형된 형태로 구현될 수 있음을 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 그러므로 개시된 실시예들은 한정적인 관점이 아니라 설명적인 관점에서 고려되어야 한다. 본 발명의 범위는 전술한 설명이 아니라 특허청구범위에 나타나 있으며, 그와 동등한 범위 내에 있는 모든 차이점은 본 발명에 포함된 것으로 해석되어야 할 것이다.

Claims (22)

  1. 적어도 일면에 반응부가 형성되고, 상기 반응부의 테두리를 따라 돌출부가 구비된 분리판.
  2. 테두리를 따라 돌출부가 구비된 한 쌍의 분리판; 및
    상기 분리판 사이에 배치되는 인서트;를 포함하고,
    상기 돌출부가 서로 체결되어 상기 인서트를 고정하는 것인,
    분리판 구조체.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 분리판은 일면 또는 양면에 유로가 구비된 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 돌출부는 분리판이 적층되는 방향을 따라서 상방으로 연장되는 상부 돌출부 또는 하방으로 연장되는 하부 돌출부를 구비하는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 상부 돌출부는 외측자리에서 연장되는 돌기가 구비되고, 상기 하부 돌출부의 외측자리에 홈이 형성되는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  6. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 상부 돌출부의 외측자리에서 연장되며 경사면을 가지는 돌기와, 상기 하부 돌출부 외측자리에 경사면을 가지는 홈이 형성되는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  7. 제5항 또는 제6항에 있어서, 상기 돌기와 홈의 높이는 하기 식 1 및 식 2에 따라 결정되는 것인, 분리판 구조체:

    여기서, h0은 상부 또는 하부 돌출부의 높이이고, h1은 상부 돌출부의 돌기의 높이이며, h2는 하부 돌출부의 홈의 깊이임.
  8. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 상부 돌출부는 단면이 반원인 돌기가 구비되고, 상기 하부 돌출부는 단면이 반원인 홈이 형성되는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  9. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 막전극접합체와 상기 막전극접합체 양면에 구비되는 가스확산층 또는 다공성수송층을 포함하는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  10. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 돌출부 일측에 가스켓이 구비되는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  11. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 하부 돌출부 높이는 하기 식 3에 따라 결정되는 것인, 분리판 구조체:

    여기서, H1은 하부 돌출부의 높이이고, H3은 인서트의 가스확산층의 두께임.
  12. 테두리를 따라 제1 돌출부가 구비된 제1 분리판;
    상기 제1 돌출부에 대응되며, 테두리를 따라 제2 돌출부가 구비된 제2 분리판; 및
    상기 제1 분리판과 제2 분리판 사이에 배치되는 인서트;를 포함하고,
    상기 제1 돌출부와 제2 돌출부가 서로 체결되는,
    분리판 구조체.
  13. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 제1 분리판 및 제2 분리판 일면에 유로가 구비되는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  14. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 제1 돌출부와 제2 돌출부는 서로 끼움 맞춤 구조를 구비하여 제1 분리판과 제2 분리판을 서로 밀봉하는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  15. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 제1 분리판과 제1 돌출부는 일체로 형성되고, 제2 분리판과 제2 돌출부가 일체로 형성된 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  16. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 제1 돌출부의 외측자리에서 연장되는 돌기와, 상기 제2 돌출부 외측자리에 형성되는 홈이 서로 체결되는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  17. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 제1 돌출부의 외측자리에서 연장되며 경사면을 가지는 돌기와, 상기 제2 돌출부 외측자리에 형성되며 경사면을 가지는 홈이 서로 체결되는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  18. 제16항 또는 제17항에 있어서, 상기 돌기와 홈의 높이는 하기 식 4 및 식 5에 따라 결정되는 것인, 분리판 구조체:

  20. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 막전극접합체, 상기 막전극접합체 양면에 구비되는 가스확산층 또는 다공성수송층을 포함하는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  21. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 제1 돌출부 및 제2 돌출부 일측에 가스켓이 구비되는 것인, 분리판 구조체.
  22. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 제1 돌출부의 높이는 하기 식 6에 따라 결정되는 것인, 분리판 구조체:
