Definitions

  • This disclosure relates to a sound detection device.
  • Sound detection devices equipped with a cover have been proposed in the past (see, for example, Patent Document 1). Specifically, in this sound detection device, the cover is arranged so that foreign objects are less likely to reach the sensor that outputs a detection signal corresponding to sound.
  • the cover is made of a mesh or the like with holes formed therein, and is configured so that sound can be introduced through the holes.
  • such a sound detection device may allow foreign matter such as water to enter through the hole in the cover.
  • the sound detection device when used as a detection unit that detects sound generated by a machine tool, the sound detection device is placed in an environment where foreign matter such as water or oil is likely to scatter, increasing the possibility of foreign matter entering through the hole in the cover. If the foreign matter reaches the sensor unit, the detection accuracy of the sensor unit may decrease.
  • the present disclosure aims to suppress a decrease in the detection accuracy of a sensor unit.
