第1のBSSIDで識別されるネットワーク及び、第2のBSSIDで識別されるネットワークを外部装置に対して提供する通信装置は、所定のパワーセービングメカニズムを利用する場合であって、かつ、通信装置が他の1つの通信装置とMulti-Link通信を行うMulti-Link Device(MLD)として機能する場合、第1のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上で第1のBSSIDを含むBeaconフレームを送信するよう制御する。一方、通信装置は、前記通信装置が第2のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上では第2のBSSIDを含むBeaconフレームを送信しないように制御する。

Description

通信装置、制御方法、及び、プログラム
 本発明は、データを通信する通信装置に関する。
 近年、通信されるデータ量の増加に伴い、無線LAN(Local Area Network)等の通信技術の開発が進められている。無線LANの主要な通信規格として、IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)802.11規格シリーズが知られている。IEEE802.11規格シリーズには、IEEE802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax等の規格が含まれる。
 またIEEE802.11axの後継規格であるIEEE802.11be規格の規格策定が進んでいる。IEEE802.11be規格における新機能として、APとSTAとが周波数チャネルが異なる複数のリンクを確立し、並行して通信を行うMulti-Link通信といった機能が検討されている。また、特許文献1には、Multi-Link通信のために、複数のリンクを確立するための仕組みが記載されている。

 EHT(Extreme High Throughput) TGでは、IEEE802.11be規格に対応する通信装置を2.4GHz帯、4.9及び5GHz帯、及び6GHz帯等の周波数バンドで動作させることが検討されている。TGはTask Groupの略である。また、IEEE802.11beの後継規格の検討も始まっている。後継規格を検討するUHR(Ultra High Reliablity) SGでは、後継規格におけるアクセスポイントの消費電力の増大を課題として着目し、アクセスポイントにおいて何らかの省電力動作を行うことが検討されている。
 しかしながら具体的な省電力動作の仕組みまでは考えられていない。ここで、Multi-Link通信を行うアクセスポイントは、Multi-Link Upper MACサブレイヤのコンポーネントが下位のサブレイヤを統括的に管理することで、Multi-Link通信を実現する。この下位のサブレイヤは、Lower MACサブレイヤとしてのコンポーネント及び当該コンポーネントに1対1で対応するPHYの組み合わせである。また、アクセスポイントは、Single-Link通信のみをサポートするSTAとの通信を行えるように、非Multi-Link UpperMACサブレイヤのコンポーネントを有しており、Single-Link通信を実現することもできる。非Multi-Link UpperMACサブレイヤ及びLower MACサブレイヤのコンポーネント及び該コンポーネントに関連付けられたPHYの組み合わせは、論理的には、従来型の1つのアクセスポイントと同様に機能する。この1つのアクセスポイントは、Multi-Link機能において管理される傘下のアクセスポイントともみなせるため、Affiliated APとも呼ばれる。
 これらの複数のAffiliated APを常時起動し続けると省電力が増大するといった課題がある。一方で、単純に、Affiliated APへの電力供給を一定期間停止する等の間欠動作等の省電力動作を行うと、後継規格より前の規格である802.11ax規格等に代表される旧規格のSTAとの接続に問題が生じる恐れもある。以降、旧規格をサポートし、新規格をサポートしないSTAを便宜上Legacy STAとも呼ぶ。
 本発明は、上述の問題点の少なくとも1つを鑑みなされたものである。本発明は旧規格に準拠し、Legacy STAが混在する環境下において、Legacy STAとの接続に問題が発生することを抑制しつつ、アクセスポイントが省電力動作を行うための仕組みを提供することを目的の1つとする。また、本発明の別の側面としては、アクセスポイントが省電力動作を行うための仕組みを提供することを目的の1つとする。
 本発明の1つの側面としての通信装置は、第1のBSSID(Basic Service Set Identifier)で識別される第1のネットワーク及び、第2のBSSIDで識別される第2のネットワークを外部装置に対して提供する通信装置であって、前記通信装置が所定のパワーセービングメカニズムを利用する場合であって、かつ、前記通信装置が他の1つの通信装置とMulti-Link通信を行うMulti-Link Device(MLD)として機能する場合、前記通信装置が前記第1のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上で前記第1のBSSIDを含むBeaconフレームを送信するが、前記通信装置が前記第2のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上では前記第2のBSSIDを含むBeaconフレームを送信しないよう制御する通信制御手段を有することを特徴とする。
 本発明の1つの側面によれば、Legacy STAとの接続に問題が発生することを抑制しつつ、アクセスポイントが省電力動作を行うことができるようになる。また、本発明の別の側面によれば、アクセスポイントが省電力動作を行うことが可能となる。

 以下、添付図面を参照して実施形態を詳しく説明する。なお、以下の実施形態は特許請求の範囲に係る発明を限定するものでするものでない。実施形態には複数の特徴が記載されているが、これらの複数の特徴の全てが発明に必須のものとは限らず、また、複数の特徴は任意に組み合わせられてもよい。さらに、添付図面においては、同一若しくは同様の構成に同一の参照番号を付し、重複した説明は省略する。
 <第1の実施形態>
 図1に、本実施形態のネットワークの構成例を示す。本実施形態のネットワークは、1台のアクセスポイント装置(以降、単にAP、AP STA、アクセスポイントとも呼ぶ)と、2台のステーション装置(以降単にSTA、Non-AP STA、ステーションとも呼ぶ)とを含んで構成される。
 AP101、STA102は、最大伝送速度46.08Gbpsを目標とするIEEE802.11be規格の後継規格であり、IEEE802.11bn規格に準拠した無線フレームの通信を実行可能に構成される。一方STA103は、Multi-Link通信をサポートしないIEEE802.11beより前の規格(例えば、IEEE802.11ac/n/g/b/a)をサポートするステーション装置である。
 なお、IEEEはInstitute of Electrical and Electronics Engineersの略である。この、IEEE802.11beの後継規格であるIEEE802.11bnでは、高信頼通信やローレイテンシ通信や混雑時のスループット向上を主たる特徴として掲げている。また、802.11bnでは、APにおける電力消費を抑えることも目標の1つとして掲げている。当該後継規格で通信する無線フレームをUHR(Ultra High Reliability) PPDUとも呼称する。PPDUは、PLCP Protocol Data Unitの略であり、PLCPは、Physical Layer Convergence Protocolの略である。
 なお、UHRという名称は後継規格で達成すべき目標や当該規格で目玉となる特徴を踏まえて便宜上設けられたものであり、規格の策定が完了した状態において別の名称となりうる。IEEE802.11bnという名称も同様に、規格の策定が完了した状態において別の名称となりうる。一方、本明細書及び添付の特許請求の範囲は、本質的には、802.11be規格の後継規格であるすべての後継規格に適用可能であることに留意されたい。
 図1の説明に戻り、AP101は、複数の異なる周波数チャネルでネットワークを提供するマルチバンド機能をサポートするアクセスポイントである。本実施形態では、AP101が一例として2.4GHz帯のネットワーク(以下NWも呼ぶ)100と、5GHz帯のNW110と、6GHz帯のNW120を提供するトライバンドのアクセスポイントである場合を例示している。AP101が提供するNW100は、2.4GHz帯のいずれかのチャネルで動作するネットワークであり、ネットワークを識別するためのBSSIDが第1BSSIDのネットワークである。BSSIDは、Basic Service Set Identifierの略であり、BSSは、Basic Service Setの略である。AP101が提供するNW110は、5GHz帯のいずれかのチャネルで動作するネットワークであり、BSSIDが第2BSSIDのネットワークである。またAP101が提供するNW120は、6GHz帯のいずれかのチャネルで動作するネットワークであり、BSSIDが第3BSSIDのネットワークである。NW100は第1のネットワークの一例であり、NW110、120は第2のネットワークの一例である。
 さらに、本実施形態のAP101とSTA102は、装置間で複数の通信リンクを確立し、通信するMulti-Link通信を実行することができる。以降、通信リンクのことを単にリンクとも呼ぶ。Multi-Link通信を実行するAP101をAP MLD(Multi-Link Device)101とも呼び、Multi-Link通信を実行するSTA102をnon-AP MLD102とも呼ぶ。
 また、本実施形態では、802.11ax以前の規格のみをサポートし、802.11be以降の規格をサポートしない、即ちMulti-Link機能をサポートしないSTA103を便宜上Legacy STA103とも呼ぶ。
 例えばAP101はSTA102と2.4GHz帯のリンク104を確立し、通信することができる。また、AP101とSTA102はこれと並行して例えば、5GHz帯のリンク105を確立し、通信することができる。この場合に、STA102はリンク104と並行して、リンク105を介しても通信するMulti-Link通信を実行する。このようにAP101は、複数の異なる周波数チャネルのリンクをSTA102と確立することで、STA102との通信におけるスループットを向上させることができる。
 Legacy STA103は、例えば、AP101と2.4GHz帯のリンク106を確立し、通信することができる。本実施形態では、装置間で1つのリンクのみを確立し、当該確立した1つのリンクで通信することをSingle-Link通信と呼ぶ。
 なお、図1では、一例として1台のAP MLD101と2台のSTA(non-AP MLD102、Legacy STA103)とを含んだ通信システムを示しているが、これらの台数は、図示されるより多くてもよい。また、AP MLD101、non-AP MLD102は、UHR PPDUの通信(送受信)をサポートするとしたが、これに加えて、UHR規格より前の規格であるレガシー規格のPPDUの通信もサポートするよう構成することもできる。具体的には、AP101、STA102は、IEEE802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be規格等のPPDUの送受信をサポートするよう構成することもできる。
 AP101とSTA102~103は、2.4GHz帯、5GHz帯、6GHz帯において通信を行うことが可能に構成される。AP101とSTA102~3が使用する周波数帯は、これに限定されるものではなく、例えばSub1GHz帯やミリ波帯のように、異なる周波数帯を使用してもよい。また、AP101、STA102は、20MHz、40MHz、80MHz、160MHz、320MHz、540MHz、640MHzの帯域幅を使用して通信することができる。各通信装置が使用する帯域幅は、これに限定されるものではない。また、本実施形態では、Multi-Link通信を行うリンク104、105が異なる周波数帯のリンクである場合を例示しているがこれに限定されるものではない。AP101は、同じ周波数帯、かつ、異なるチャネルの複数のリンクを用いてSTA102とMulti-Link通信を行うこともできる。この場合、AP101は、同じ周波数帯、かつ、異なるチャネルの複数のネットワークを周囲に提供するように構成する。より具体的には5GHz帯におけるW52、36chを第1のリンクとし、これに加えて同じく5GHz帯におけるW53、60chを第2のリンクとしたMulti-Link通信のための複数の通信リンクを装置間で確立するようにしてもよい。また、周波数帯が同じリンクと異なるリンクとが混在していてもよい。
 また、AP101やSTA102、103を、Bluetooth(登録商標)、NFC、Bluetooth(登録商標) LE(Low Energy)等の他の通信規格に基づく無線通信をサポートするように構成することもできる。NFCはNear Field Communicationの略である。また、AP101やSTA102を、Ethernet(登録商標)ケーブルを用いる有線通信や、光ファイバを用いる有線通信をサポートするように構成することもできる。AP101の具体例としては、無線LANルーターやパーソナルコンピュータ(PC)などが挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。またAP MLD101やnon-AP MLD102は、UHR PPDUの送信、受信をサポートする無線チップなどの情報処理装置であってもよい。この場合、無線チップ内部のハードウェア回路により各種制御を実行するよう構成することができる。なお、無線チップ内部のASIP等のプロセッサやメモリ及びハードウェア回路が協働することで各種処理を実行するように構成することもできる。ASIPは、Application-specific instruction set processorの略である。
 また、STA102、STA103の具体的な例としては、カメラ、タブレット、スマートフォン、PC、携帯電話、ビデオカメラ、スマートグラスなどのウェアラブルデバイスなどが挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
 ところで、IEEE802.11bn規格では、アクセスポイントの消費電力の増大を課題として着目し、アクセスポイントにおいて何らかの省電力動作を行うことが検討されている。前述の通り、AP MLDは、Multi-Link Upper MACサブレイヤのコンポーネントが下位のサブレイヤを統括的に管理することで、Multi-Link通信を実現する。この下位のサブレイヤは、Lower MACサブレイヤとしてのコンポーネント及び当該コンポーネントに1対1で対応するPHYの組み合わせで実現される。また、AP MLDは、Single-Link通信のみをサポートするSTAとの通信を行えるように、非Multi-Link Upper MACサブレイヤのコンポーネントを有している。非Multi-Link Upper MACサブレイヤ及びLower MACサブレイヤのコンポーネント及び該コンポーネントに関連付けられたPHYの組み合わせは、論理的には、従来型の1つのアクセスポイントと同様に機能する。すなわちこれらのコンポーネントとPHYの組み合わせはLegacy STA等とSingle-Link通信を実現するために用いられる。この1つのアクセスポイントは、Multi-Link機能において管理される傘下のAPともみなせるため、Affiliated APとも呼ばれる。
 ここで、AP MLDにおいて、複数のAffiliated APを常時起動し続けると省電力が増大することとなる。その一方で、単純に、Affiliated APへの電力供給を一定期間停止する等の間欠動作等の省電力動作を行うと、IEEE802.11bnより前の規格しかサポートしないSTAとの接続に問題が生じる恐れがある。
 これを鑑み、本実施形態では、Legacy STAが混在する環境下において、Legacy STAとの接続に問題が発生することを抑制しつつ、アクセスポイントが省電力動作を行うための仕組みを提供する。以下、具体的に説明する。
 <通信装置のハードウェア構成>
 図2は、通信装置(AP MLD101、non-AP MLD102、Legacy STA103)のハードウェア構成例を示す。通信装置は、そのハードウェア構成の一例として、記憶部201、制御部202、機能部203、入力部204、出力部205、通信部206、及びアンテナ207~209を有する。
 記憶部201は、ROM、RAMの両方、または、いずれか一方により構成され、後述する各種動作を行うためのプログラムや、無線通信のための通信パラメータ等の各種情報を記憶する。RAMは、Random Access Memoryの略であり、ROMは、Read Only Memoryの略である。なお、記憶部201として、ROM、RAM等のメモリの他に、ハードディスク、SSD(Solid State Drive)等の不揮発性のストレージデバイスなどの記憶媒体が用いられてもよい。
 制御部202は、例えば、CPUやMPU等のプロセッサ、ASIC(特定用途向け集積回路)、DSP(デジタルシグナルプロセッサ)、FPGA(フィールドプログラマブルゲートアレイ)等により構成される。ここで、CPUはCentral Processing Unitの、MPUは、Micro Processing Unitの略である。制御部202は、記憶部201に記憶されたプログラムを実行するとともに、ASIC等のハードウェア回路を動作させることで装置全体を制御する。なお、制御部202は、記憶部201に記憶されたプログラムとOS(Operating System)との協働により装置全体を制御するようにしてもよい。
 また、制御部202は、機能部203を制御して、撮像や印刷、投影等の所定の処理を実行する。機能部203は、装置が所定の処理を実行するためのハードウェアである。例えば、通信装置がデジタルスチルカメラなどのカメラやカメラを有するスマートフォンである場合、機能部203は撮像部であり、通信装置が有する図示省略のカメラ部を介して周囲の画像の撮像処理を行う。また、例えば、通信装置がプリンタである場合、機能部203は印刷部であり、外部から無線通信で得られた印刷データに基づき、紙などのシートに印刷処理を行う。また、例えば、通信装置がプロジェクタやスマートグラスである場合、機能部203は投影部であり、外部から無線通信で得られた画像データや映像データの投影処理を行う。スマートグラスの場合、投影面はエンドユーザの網膜などである。機能部203が処理するデータは、記憶部201に記憶されているデータであってもよいし、後述する通信部206を介して他のAPやSTAと通信したデータであってもよい。更にAP101等の通信装置はNAS(Network Attached Storage)等のネットワークストレージ機能を提供することもできる。当該機能はネットワークストレージサービス等のWebサービスとして他の通信装置に提供される。例えば、STA等の通信装置は、AP MLD101等の提供するネットワークストレージサービスに、SMBやFTP、WebDAV等のプロトコルを用いて接続する。そして、STA等の通信装置は、当該ストレージサービスに対してファイルをアップロードしたり、当該ストレージ内のファイルをダウンロードしたりする。当該アップロードやダウンロードのデータ通信も装置間でUHR PPDUを通信することで実現される。
 入力部204は、ユーザからの各種操作の受付を行う。出力部205は、ユーザに対して各種出力を行う。ここで、出力部205による出力とは、例えば、画面上への表示や、スピーカによる音声出力、振動出力の少なくとも1つを含む。なお、タッチパネルのように入力部204と出力部205の両方を1つのモジュールで実現するようにしてもよい。
出力部205は、ユーザに情報を提示する表示手段として機能する。また入力部はユーザ操作を受け付ける受付手段として機能する。
 通信部206は、IEEE802.11規格シリーズに準拠した無線通信の制御や、IP通信の制御を行う。本実施形態では、通信部206は、アンテナ207~209と協働してUHR規格の無線フレームであるUHR PPDUやそれ以前の規格に対応するPPDUを送受信する通信制御を実行することができる。アンテナ207~209は、例えば、サブGHz帯、2.4GHz帯、5GHz帯、6GHz帯、ミリ波帯の少なくともいずれかの周波数帯の信号を送受信可能なアンテナである。
 なお、通信装置が前述したNFC規格やBluetooth規格、有線通信規格等に対応している場合、通信部206がこれらの通信規格に準拠した無線通信や有線通信の制御を行うよう構成すればよい。また、AP MLD101及びnon-AP MLD102の通信部206は、各リンクで通信される信号をデコードしたりエンコードしたりハードウェア回路を有している。各アンテナやハードウェア回路は、個別に電力制御できるよう構成される。なお、各リンクに対応する通信部を個別に有するように構成することもできる。
 続けて、AP MLD101及びnon-AP MLD102における機能構成について図3を用いて説明する。AP MLD101やnon-AP MLD102といった通信装置は、マルチリンク制御部301、マルチリンク通信設定UI部302、フレーム生成部305、フレーム送受信部306といった機能部を有している。
 マルチリンク制御部301は、通信装置が対向機との無線通信に用いる1以上のリンクを確立するための通信開始処理や、通信開始後のリンクの追加・削除処理、全リンクを削除する通信終了処理を制御する機能ブロックである。接続処理は、具体的にAuthentication処理、Association処理、4way-handshake処理から構成される。AP MLD101の場合、対向機はnon-AP MLD102等のSTAとなり、non-AP MLD102の場合、対向機はAP MLD101等のAPとなる。また、マルチリンク制御部301は、AP省電力モードに関する制御も行う。具体的には、AP省電力モードが有効に設定された場合、Affiliated APとして機能するコンポーネントに対する電源供給の停止などの電力制御を行う。AP省電力モードが有効に設定されていることは、AP MLD101が、所定のパワーセービングメカニズムを利用することを意味する。
 マルチリンク通信設定UI(User Interface)部302は、Multi-Link通信に係る設定をユーザが入力するためのUIとして設定画面を提供する。また、UI部302は、入力部204を介して当該設定画面に対するユーザ操作を受け付けて、当該設定を通信装置の動作設定として記憶部201に格納したりする機能ブロックである。
 例えば、AP MLD101のUI部302は、図9に示す設定画面を表示し、ユーザからの設定変更を受け付けることができる。図9は、AP MLD101のUI部302が、出力部205に表示する設定画面の一例である。図9において、破線で示す領域の表示アイテムは後述する変形例でのみ表示される表示アイテムである。従って第1の実施形態においては説明を省略する。
 表示アイテム903は、AP省電力モードを有効にするか無効にするかを設定するチェックボックスである。ユーザは当該チェックボックスを操作することで、AP省電力モードを有効にするか無効にするかを変更することができる。変更操作がなされた後、ユーザによるOKボタンが選択されたことを検知すると、UI部302は、当該変更操作に対応する動作設定(AP省電力モードを有効にする設定又は無効にする設定)を記憶部201に格納する。当該動作設定は後述のフローチャートにおいて適宜参照される。
 また、AP MLD101のUI部302は、更に、HTTPサーバとして機能し、自身が提供している接続しているSTAに対して設定画面に対応するWebコンテンツを提供する。例えば、AP MLD101は、接続したSTAに対して図9で説明した設定画面に対応するWebコンテンツを提供する。STAは受信したWebコンテンツに基づきWeb画面としての設定画面を表示する。STAは、Web画面上の表示アイテムを介してなされた操作内容を特定する情報をHTTPサーバに送信する。送信は、POSTメソッド等を用いて行うことができる。UI部302は、その情報に基づき記憶部201に記憶する動作設定を適宜変更する。
 図3の説明に戻り、フレーム生成部305は、外部と通信するための無線フレームであるUHR PPDUや生成するブロックである。フレーム送受信部306は、フレーム生成部305で生成された無線フレームの送信および相手装置からの無線フレームの受信を行う。non-AP MLD102の場合、Probe RequestフレームやAssociation Requestフレーム、データフレームをAPに対して送信したりする。また、non-AP MLD102は、Authentication Requestフレーム、その他接続処理のためのフレームもAPに対して送信したりする。
 AP MLD101の場合、Beaconフレーム、Probe ResponseフレームやAssociation ResponseフレームやデータフレームをSTA102に対して送信したりする。また、AP MLD101は、Association Requestフレーム、Authentication Requestフレーム、その他接続処理のためのフレーム等もSTAに対して送信したりする。
 なお、Legacy STA103は、マルチリンク制御部301に代えてAPと1つのリンクを確立するためのSingle-Link制御部を有し、Single-Link通信を行う点で、non-AP MLD102と相違する。言い換えると、Legacy STA103は、Multi-Link通信を行うことはできないが、Affiliated APとSingle-Link通信を行うことをサポートするSTAである。
 <接続処理>
 続けて、第1の実施形態におけるMulti-Link通信の一例を図4のシーケンス図を用いて説明する。図4では、AP MLD101は、AP省電力モードが有効に設定されている場合の処理手順を例示している。本実施形態では、AP省電力モードにおいて、Active Stateと、Power Saving Stateの2つの状態を使い分ける。Active Stateは、全てのAffiliated AP(Affiliated AP1~3)をawake状態で動作させるStateである。また、Power Saving Stateは、Active Stateと比較し、単位時間当たりの消費電力を削減することを目的としたStateである。本実施形態のAP MLD101は、Power Saving Stateに遷移した後、Affiliated AP2とAffiliated AP3への電力供給を制限しdoze状態で動作させ、消費電力を削減することを想定している。一方、Legacy STAが問題なくデータ通信を行えるようにAffiliated AP1に関しては、Power Saving Stateに遷移した後もawake状態で動作させる。Affiliated AP2~3をdoze状態にするということは、具体的には、Affiliated AP2~3用のフレームを送受信するための回路への電力供給を停止し、フレームの送受信をしない状態に変更することを意味する。Active Stateは所定のパワーセービングメカニズムの動作ステートである第1ステートの一例である。また、Power Saving Stateは所定のパワーセービングメカニズムの動作ステートである第2ステートの一例である。
 まず、Active StateにおけるAP MLD101の動作について説明する。AP101は、前述したBSSID1で識別されるBeacon401を定期的に送信する。Affiliated AP1のBeacon401は、当該フレームを受信したLegacy STAが当該フレームをデコードできるように、non-HT(non-high-throughput) PPDU形式で送信される。言い換えると、MAC(Medium Access Control)フレームとしてのBeaconフレーム401は、non-HT PPDU形式の無線フレームとして外部に定期的に送信される。
 この際、AP MLD101は、Affiliated AP2~3についてはawake状態で動作させる。しかしながら、Affiliated AP2のBeacon、すなわち、BSSID2で識別されるBeacon及び、Affiliated AP3のBeacon、すなわち、BSSID3で識別されるBeaconを敢えて送信しないよう制御する。
 401で示したBeaconを受信したnon-AP MLD102は、後述するMulti-Link Setupの手順に基づきAP MLD101と複数の異なるリンクを確立する(402)。AP MLD101がawake状態で動作させている他のAffiliated AP2、3の情報はMulti-Link Setupの手順にて適宜STAに通知され、適宜確立するリンクの選定等に活用される。セットアップが完了すると、AP MLD101とnon-AP MLD102は、Multi-Link通信が行えるようになる。例えば、non-AP MLD102は、2本の通信リンクを用いて同時にデータを送信したり、あるリンクをデータ送信に利用しつつ別のリンクをデータ受信に利用したりするなどのMulti-Link通信を行う。ここでは、図1で説明したリンク104とリンク105が確立された場合を例示している。
 一方、Legacy STA103は、Single-Link通信を確立するためのLegacy Setupの手順を実行する。この際、前述の制御により、Affiliated AP2~3のBeaconは送信されていない。従って、Legacy STA103が接続候補となるAPを探索すると、探索の結果として、Affiliated AP1は見つかるが、Affiliated AP2~3は見つからないことになる。従って、見つかったAffiliated AP1等に対してLegacy Setupを試行してSingle-Link通信を確立することになる。セットアップが完了すると、Affiliated AP1とLegacy STA103は1つのリンクを用いるSingle-Link通信を行うことが可能になる。
 このように、本実施形態では、Power Saving Stateにおいてdoze状態となりうるAffiliated APのBeaconを送信しないよう制御する。従って、doze状態となりうるAffiliated APがLegacy STAに捕捉されないようにすることができる。
 続けて、Power Saving Stateへの遷移について説明する。AP MLD101は、通信されるデータ量が所定量以下になった等といったPower Saving Stateへ遷移するための条件を満たしたかどうかを判断する。Power Saving Stateへ遷移するための条件を満たしたと判断した場合、Power Saving Stateへ遷移するための遷移処理を行う(404)。
 遷移処理では、Affiliated AP2~3をdoze状態に変更する電力制御や、Multi-Link通信を確立しているnon-AP MLDに対する状態遷移を示すTransition通知(405)などが行われる。Transition通知を受け付けたnon-AP MLDは、通知に基づきSTA側における電力制御を行う。本実施形態では、一例としてnon-AP MLD102が、Affiliated STA102をdoze状態とし、リンク104のみをデータ通信のリンクとして利用する場合を例示している。
 そして、AP MLD101は、Power Saving Stateに遷移した後も、Affiliated AP1をawake状態で動作しつつ、BSSID1のBeaconも送信し続ける。従って、Legacy STA103はAP MLD101がPower Saving Stateに遷移するかどうかを意識することなしに、従来のSingle-Link通信を行うことができる。
 続けて、図4で例示したMulti-Link通信を行うためにAP MLD101やnon-AP MLD102において実行する具体的な制御処理について図5、図6のフローチャートを用いて説明する。
 図5のフローチャートは、AP MLD101が対向機であるnon-AP MLD102や、Legacy STA103等のSTAと実行する通信の手続きを抜粋して記載している。なお、図5の各処理はAP MLD101に電力が供給され、アクセスポイントとしての動作の準備が完了した後に実行する処理を示している。また、図6のフローチャートは、non-AP MLD102が対向機であるAP MLD101等のAPと実行する通信の手続きを抜粋して記載している。そして、図6の各処理はnon-AP MLD102に電力が供給され、STAとしての動作の準備が完了した後に実行される処理を示している。
 まずAP MLD101の制御について図5を用いて説明する。図5のフローチャートに示す各処理は、AP MLD101の制御部202のプロセッサが記憶部201に記憶されたコンピュータプログラムを実行することにより、実行される。なお、送信や変調等の一部の処理は制御部202のプロセッサと、通信部206を構成する各種プロセッサやASIC、DSP、FGPA、及び制御部202を構成するASIC、DSP、FPGAなどが協働して実現するものとする。なお処理の主体を明確に示したい場合、図3で説明した機能部を主語として説明する。
 S501において、制御部301は、AP省電力モードを有効とする動作設定がなされているか否かを判断する。制御部301は、AP省電力モードを有効とする動作設定がなされている場合、処理をS502に進め、AP省電力モードを有効とする動作設定がなされていない場合、処理をS509に進める。
 具体的には、制御部301は、記憶部201に格納された動作設定を参照し、AP省電力モードを有効とする動作設定が記憶されている場合にAP省電力モードを有効とする動作設定がなされていると判断する。一方、制御部301は、記憶部201に格納された動作設定を参照し、AP省電力モードを無効とする動作設定が記憶されている場合にAP省電力モードを有効とする動作設定がなされていないと判断する。
 S502において、制御部301は、AP MLD101がAP省電力モードにおけるActive Stateで動作しているかどうかを判断する。制御部301は、AP MLD101が、AP省電力モードにおけるActive Stateで動作している場合、処理をS503に進める。一方、制御部301は、AP MLD101が、AP省電力モードにおけるActive Stateで動作していない場合(即ちPower Saving Stateで動作している場合)、処理をS505に進める。
 S503において、制御部301は、省電力モードのStateをActive StateからPower Saving Stateに遷移すべきかどうかを判断する。省電力モードのStateをActive StateからPower Saving Stateに遷移すべきと判断した場合、処理をS504に進める。一方、省電力モードのStateをActive StateからPower Saving Stateに遷移すべきでない判断した場合、処理をS508に進める。当該遷移すべきかどうかは通信されるデータ量が所定量以下になった等といったPower Saving Stateへ遷移するための条件を満たしたかどうかに基づき判断することができる。
 S504において、制御部301は、フレーム生成部305と協働して、non-AP MLDに向けたTransition通知のフレームを生成する。続けて、制御部301は、送受信部306や通信部206と協働して生成したTransition通知のフレームを送信する。
 S505において、制御部301は、省電力モードのStateをPower Saving StateからActive Stateに遷移すべきかどうかを判断する。省電力モードのStateをPower Saving StateからActive Stateに遷移すべきと判断した場合、処理をS506に進める。一方、省電力モードのStateをPower Saving StateからActive Stateに遷移すべきでない判断した場合、処理をS507に進める。当該遷移すべきかどうかは通信すべきデータの発生状況等や所定時間の経過等に基づき判断することができる。
 S506において、制御部301は、フレーム生成部305と協働して、non-AP MLDに向けたTransition通知のフレームを生成する。続けて、制御部301は、送受信部306や通信部206と協働して生成したTransition通知のフレームを送信する。
 続けてS507において、制御部301は、各部と協働して、Affiliated AP1~2がdoze状態、Affiliated AP3がawake状態で動作するよう制御する。また、制御部301は生成部305、送受信部306、通信部206と協働して、Affiliated AP1の動作チャネルでAffiliated AP1のBeaconである、BSSID1で識別されるBeaconを定期送信する処理を実行する。すなわち、NW100を提供しているチャネル上でNW100を識別するBSSID1のBeaconを定期送信する。
 続けて、Active StateにおけるBeacon送信動作について説明する。S506において、制御部301は、各部と協働して、Affiliated AP1~3がawake状態で動作するように制御する。また、その際に、制御部301は、生成部305、送受信部306、通信部206と協働して、Affiliated AP1の動作チャネルでAffiliated AP1のBeaconを定期送信する処理を実行する。この際、制御部301は、awake状態で動作するAffiliated AP2~3のBeacon(BSSID2で識別されるBeacon及びBSSID3で識別されるBeacon)を送信しないよう制御する。
 次に、AP省電力モードを有効とする動作設定がなされていない場合の制御について説明する。S509において、制御部301は、各部と協働して、Affiliated AP1~3がawake状態で動作するように制御する。また、その際に、制御部301は、生成部305、送受信部306、通信部206と協働して、各Beaconを定期送信する処理を実行する。より具体的には、Affiliated AP1の動作チャネルにおいて、Affiliated AP1のBeaconを、Affiliated AP2の動作チャネルにおいて、Affiliated AP2のBeaconを定期送信する処理を実行する。さらに、Affiliated AP3の動作チャネルにおいて、Affiliated AP3のBeaconを定期送信する処理を実行する。
 S510において、リンクのセットアップ処理や、データの送信処理を行う。この処理については図7を用いて後述する。
 S511において、AP MLD101は、シャットダウンを行うかどうかを判断する。シャットダウンを行うと判断した場合、図示省略のシャットダウン処理を実行し、一連の処理を終了して電源オフ状態に移行する。一方、AP MLD101は、シャットダウンを行うと判断していない場合、処理をS501に進める。
 上記の制御では代表例として、Beaconフレームを対象として定期送信を停止する処理を例示したが、AP MLD101は、更にLegacy STAから送信されうる接続のための他のフレームについても応答を行わないように制御する。具体的な制御について表1を用いて説明する。AP省電力モードが有効に設定されたAP MLD101は、表1に示すフレームの送信制御を、awakeを維持するAffiliated AP1と、dozeに遷移しうる他のAffiliated AP2~3とで異ならせる。

 タイプフィールドに「0b00」が設定され、サブタイプフィールドに「0b1000」が設定されたBeaconフレームについては前述の代表例で説明した通りの制御を行えばよい。さらに、AP省電力モードが有効に設定されたAP MLD101は、Affiliated AP2~3が応答すべきProbe Requestフレームに対して、Probe Responseフレームを応答しないよう制御する。また、AP省電力モードが有効に設定されたAP MLD101は、Affiliated AP2~3を宛先とするAssociation Requestフレームに対して、Association Responseフレームを応答しないよう制御する。以上の制御により、Legacy STAによるアクティブスキャンでAffiliated AP2~3が発見されてしまうことを抑制できる。また、Legacy STAにユーザにより入力された通信パラメータに基づいてAffiliated AP2~3にLegacy STAが接続してしまうことも抑制できる。なお、Association Requestに対しては、Associationが成功しなかった旨を通知するAssociation Responseフレームで応答するようにしてもよい。この場合、AP MLD101は、Status codeがSuccess以外であるAssociation Responseフレームを送信すればよい。
 以上説明した処理により、Legacy STAが混在する環境下において、Legacy STAとの接続に問題が発生することを抑制しつつ、アクセスポイントが省電力動作を行えるようになる。
 続けて対向機であるnon-AP MLD102の制御について図6を用いて説明する。図6のフローチャートに示す各処理は、non-AP MLD102の制御部202のプロセッサが記憶部201に記憶されたコンピュータプログラムを実行することにより、実行される。なお、送信や変調等の一部の処理は制御部202のプロセッサと、通信部206を構成する各種プロセッサやASIC、DSP、FGPA、及び制御部202を構成するASIC、DSP、FPGAなどが協働して実現するものとする。なお処理の主体を明確に示したい場合、図3で説明した機能部を主語として説明する。
 S601において、non-AP MLD102の制御部301は、フレーム送受信部306や通信部206と協働して周囲のAPを探索する。探索にはパッシブスキャンやプローブリクエストを周囲に送信するアクティブスキャン等により行われる。
 S602において、制御部301は、セットアップ対象のAPを決定する。当該決定は、例えば、探索で見つかった複数のAPをリストアップしてユーザに選択させ、対象を決定する処理や、過去に接続した実績があるAPであって、電波強度が良好なAPを自動的に対象として決定する処理である。
 続けてS603において、制御部301は、セットアップ対象として決定したAPとMulti-Link通信を確立するかどうかを判断する。制御部301は、セットアップ対象として決定したAPとMulti-Link通信を確立すると判断した場合処理をS608に進める。一方、制御部301は、セットアップ対象として決定したAPとMulti-Link通信を確立しないと判断した場合(即ち、セットアップ対象として決定したAPと1つのリンクを確立すると判断した場合)処理をS604に進める。
 S604において、制御部301は、各部と協働してLegacy Setup処理(言い換えると、Single-Link Setup処理)を実行する。この処理は、IEEE802.11ax以前の規格で行っていた、Multi-Link Elementを含まないMACフレームを用いたAuthentication処理、Association処理、4way-handshake処理に該当する。
 S605において、制御部301は、Single-Link通信が確立できたかどうかを判断する。Single-Link通信が確立できた場合、処理をS606に進め、Single-Link通信が確立できなかった場合、処理をS601に進め、新たなセットアップ対象となるAPの探索処理や決定処理を行う。
 S606において、制御部301は、各部と協働して接続を確立したAPとSingle-Link通信を実行する。S607において、制御部301は、APとの接続を解消するかどうかを判断する。APとの接続を解消すると判断すると処理をS614に進め、APとの接続を解消すると判断しない場合、再度、S606の処理に進み、Single-Link通信を実行する。
 続けて、Multi-Link通信を行うケースについて説明する。S608において、制御部301は、各部や対向機であるAP MLD(例えば、AP MLD101)と協働してMulti-Link Setup処理を実行する。
 この、Multi-Link Setup処理について図7を用いて説明する。図7は、AP MLD101とnon-AP MLD102によるMulti-Link Setup処理とその後の通信の手順を示したシーケンス図である。
 前述の通りAP MLD101は、Affiliated AP1のBeaconを定期送信している。
 AP MLD101のAffiliated AP1とnon-AP MLD102は、Probe RequestやProbe Responseを通信する(S701、S702)。当該リクエストにはMulti-Link Elementが含まれていてもよい。
 続いて、STA102とAP101は、各リンクの情報を得るためにML Probe Request(S703)、ML Probe Response(S704)を通信する。ML Probe Requestは、Multi-Link Elementとして、Complete Profileを要求するComplete Profile Requestedを含むProbe Requestである。このフレーム交換によりMulti-Link通信に使用できる各リンクの情報や、その他Multi-Link通信に関わる能力情報等がやり取りされる。
 S703、S704はProbe Responseで取得することができなかった詳細なリンク情報を得るためのフレーム交換である。従って、当該接続が複数回目であり、過去の接続時にパラメータ交換している場合はS703、S704のフレーム交換を省略することもできる。
 次にAP MLD101とnon-AP MLD102はAuthenticationの各処理を実施し装置間で認証を行う(S705)。
 続けてnon-AP MLD102は接続要求としてのAssociation RequestをAPに対して送信する(S706)。なお、ここで送信される接続要求はRe Association Requestであってもよい。
 STA102は、Association Requestに、Multi-Link通信を確立したい接続対象のリンクを特定する情報を含める。本実施形態では、Multi-Link Elementを活用して接続対象となるリンクを特定するリンクIDをAP MLD101に対して通知する。より具体的には、Multi-Link ElementのPer-STA Profileに接続対象のリンクIDを複数格納することで、どのリンクでの接続確立をリクエストしているかを示す。
 当該Association Requestを受信したAP101は、Association Responseを応答する(S707)。
 続けて、AP MLD101とnon-AP MLD102は、4way-handshakeを実施し、暗号化通信のための鍵を生成する(S708)。認証および暗号化のための鍵交換が完了するとSTA102とAP101は、データフレームの通信が行える状態となる。
 データフレームの通信が行える状態となったAP MLD101とnon-AP MLD102は、映像、動画、音声などに代表されるアプリケーションデータ等の通信を行う。
 以上説明した手順でAP101とSTA102との間でMulti-Link通信の接続を確立することができる。
 図6の説明に戻る。次に、S609において、制御部301は、Multi-Link通信が確立できたかどうかを判断する。Multi-Link通信が確立できた場合、処理をS610に進め、Multi-Link通信が確立できなかった場合、処理をS601に進め、新たなセットアップ対象となるAPの探索処理や決定処理を行う。
 S610において、制御部301は、各部と協働して接続を確立したAP MLD(例えば、AP MLD101)とMulti-Link通信を実行する。通信時のOperation modeは、NSTR(Nonsimultaneous transmit and receive) Operationであってもよい。また、STR(Simultaneous transmit and receive operationであってもよい。また、通信時のOperation modeは、EMLSR(enhanced multi-link single radio) operationであってもよい。さらに、EMLMR(enhanced multi-link multi-radio) Operationであってもよい。
 S611において、制御部301は、各部と協働して、接続先のAP MLD(例えば、AP MLD101)からTransition通知を受信したかどうかを判断する。Transition通知を受信した場合、処理をS612に進め、受信していない場合、処理をS613に進める。S612において、制御部301は、各部と協働してTransition通知に対応する制御を実行する。例えば、Power Saving Stateへの遷移に関わる通知の場合、一部のAffiliated STAをdoze状態に遷移させたりする。また、例えば、awake Stateへの遷移に関わる通知の場合、一部のAffiliated STAをawake状態に遷移させたりする。当該Transition通知は、802.11bn規格をサポートせず、802.11be規格をサポートするnon-AP MLDも解釈できる形式のフレームであることが望ましいが、これに限定されない。
 例えば、802.11be規格のみサポートするnon-AP MLDに対しては、リンクを削除する要求を送信したり、リンクを追加する要求を送信したりすることで、一部のAffiliated APがdoze状態に遷移した場合の対応を行ってもよい。具体的には、Power Saving Stateに遷移するときはAffiliated AP2~3のリンクを削除する要求を行い、awakeし続けるAffiliated Ap1のリンクのみを利用できる状態に遷移させる。また、Active Stateに遷移するときは、Affiliated AP2~3のリンクを追加する要求を行い、リンク数を増やす等の対応を行うようにすることもできる。この場合、AP MLD101は、802.11bn規格をサポートするnon-AP MLDに対しては、適宜新たな制御フレームを定義し、当該フレームで通知を行うようにすればよい。
 S613において、制御部301は、APとの接続を解消するかどうかを判断する。制御部301は、APとの接続を解消すると判断した場合、各部と協働してAPに対してDisassociationフレーム又はDeauthenticationフレームを送信し、AP MLDとの接続を解消し、処理をS614に進める。一方、制御部301は、APとの接続を解消すると判断しなかった場合、処理をS610に進め更なるMulti-Link通信を行う。
 S614において、non-AP MLD102は、シャットダウンを行うかどうかを判断する。シャットダウンを行うと判断した場合、図示省略のシャットダウン処理を実行し、一連の処理を終了して電源オフ状態に移行する。一方、non-AP MLD102は、シャットダウンを行うと判断していない場合、処理をS601に進める。
 以上説明した一連の処理により、AP省電力モードが有効なAP MLDに対しても適切に接続を行え、また、Transition通知に基づきAP側のStateに連動してSTAの省電力状態を切り替えることが可能となる。
 最後に、図8を用いてLegacy STA103の制御を説明する。図8はLegacy STA103の制御の一例を示すフローチャートである。図8のフローチャートに示す各処理は、Legacy STA103の制御部202のプロセッサが記憶部201に記憶されたコンピュータプログラムを実行することにより、実行される。S801~S802は、S601~S602と同様の探索、決定制御である。Legacy STA103は、Multi-Link機能をサポートしないため、決定後は、シングルシンクの接続処理であるS804に進む点、図6の処理とは相違がある。
 S804~S808のSingle-Linkの接続、通信処理は、S604~S608の処理と同様の処理である。また、S814のシャットダウン処理もS614と同様の処理である。
 Legacy STA103が実行する探索でもAffiliated AP1は発見されることになる。従って、Legacy STA103は、適切にSingle-Linkを確立することができる。また、そのAffiliated AP1は、常時awakeで動作し、dozeには遷移しないため、接続や通信が不安定となることを避けることができる。
 (変形例1)
 上述の実施形態では、AP省電力モードが有効に設定されたAP MLD101は、doze状態に遷移しうるAffiliated AP2、3においては接続のためのフレームを送信しないよう制御することを例示した。一方で、IEEE802.11bn以降のSTAに向けて接続のための情報を報知したり通知したり応答したりする新たなマネジメントフレームを設けることも考えられる。この新たなマネジメントフレームは、IEEE802.11be以前に定義されたMACフレームとは異なるタイプ、サブタイプが割り当てられたMACフレームである。この新たなマネジメントフレームはIEEE802.11bn以降の規格をサポートしないSTAでは解釈できず、読み捨てることになる。このような接続のための情報を報知したり通知したり応答したりする新たなマネジメントフレームについては、Affiliated AP2、3においても定期送信したり応答したり通知したりするように構成することができる。なお、IEEE802.11bnまたはそれより後の規格に対応したPPDUであることを識別できるプリアンブルを有するフレーム形式のBeaconであれば、Affiliated AP2、3においても定期的に送信するように構成してもよい。例えば、UHR PPDU形式のPPDUのペイロードに対してMACフレームとしてのBeaconフレームをカプセル化したフレームであれば、Affiliated AP2、3においても定期的に送信するようにしてもよい。この場合、AP MLD101は、BSSID2のBeaconフレームを格納したUHR PPDUをNW110のチャネル上で定期的に送信し、BSSID3のBeaconフレームを格納したUHR PPDUをNW120のチャネル上で定期的に送信してもよい。言い換えるとIEEE802.11bn規格をサポートしないSTAがデコードできないタイプのフレームならば、Affiliated AP2、3においてもその存在に関する情報を外部に通知するフレームを適宜送信するよう構成することができる。
 (変形例2)
 さらに、AP MLD101は、doze状態に遷移しうるAffiliated AP2、3が応答すべきProbe RequestやAssociation Requestに対して特定条件を満たす場合は応答を行うようにしてもよい。具体的には、Multi-Link Elementを含むProbe RequestやAssociation Requestに対しては対応する応答を行うよう構成することもできる。また、IEEE802.11bn以降の規格に対応したSTAから受信したProbe RequestやAssociation Requestフレームであることが特定できた場合においても、当該フレームに応答を行うようにしてもよい。
 (変形例3)
 さらに、AP MLD101は、常時awake状態のAffiliated AP1において、他のAffiliated APがawake状態またはdoze状態になる期間を示すフレームを送信するように構成してもよい。当該フレームは、IEEE802.11be以前に定義されたフレームとは異なるタイプ、サブタイプが割り当てられる。この場合、non-AP MLD102は、当該期間を示すフレームを解釈し、自身の電力状態等を適宜変更するように構成すればよい。なお、当該期間を示すフレームは、awake状態のAffiliated AP2、3においても送信するように構成することもできる。変形例3で説明したフレームは、IEEE802.11bnまたはそれより後の規格に対応したPPDUであることを識別できるプリアンブルを有するフレームであってもよい。さらに、このフレームはIEEE802.11bn以降の規格に対応したSTAのみが復号でき、Legacy STAは復号できないタイプのフレームであってもよい。また、変形例3で説明したフレームは、周期的に送信されてもよい。
 (変形例4)
 第1の実施形態及び上述の変形例では、2.4GHz帯のネットワークを提供するAffiliated AP1が常時awake状態となる場合を例示したが、これに限定されない。例えば、それらの形態に加えて、ユーザや管理者が常時awake状態とするAffiliated APを設定できるように構成することもできる。図9を用いてこの変形例について説明する。表示アイテム904は、常時起動するネットワークをユーザに選択させるためのプルダウンリストである。UI部302は、当該プルダウンリストの選択肢として、BSSIDや、SSID(Service Set Identifier)、ネットワークの動作周波数帯等を列挙した選択肢を表示する。ユーザはプルダウンリストに表示される複数の選択肢の中から1つの選択肢を選択する操作を行うことで、常時起動するネットワークを変更する変更操作を行うことができる。
 また、UI部302は、904に対する変更操作を検知した後に、OKボタンが押下されたことを検知すると、図9の設定画面を介してなされた動作設定を記憶部201に記憶する。この場合、AP MLD101の制御部301は、当該動作設定に基づき常時起動するAffiliated APを決定する。
 また、この際に、ユーザの選択を補助する情報905を提示するように構成してもよい。例えば、古い子機(STA)を所持している場合、2.4GHz帯をお勧めする旨の情報等を表示することができる。
 (変形例5)
 第1の実施形態及び上述の変形例ではAP MLD101において、Multi-Link機能を利用する場合を例示した。一方、それらの形態に加えてMulti-Link機能を利用するかどうかをユーザ操作によって選択できるように構成することもできる。この場合、図9の設定画面の表示アイテム901に対する変更操作に基づきMulti-Link機能を利用する動作設定、又は、Multi-Link機能を利用しない動作設定を切り替えるように構成する。UI部302は、901に対する変更操作を検知した後にOKボタンが押下された場合、対応する動作設定を記憶部201に記憶する。そして、AP MLD101は、Multi-Link機能を利用する動作設定がなされている場合に、上述の実施形態や変形例で説明した処理を行う。一方、AP MLD101は、Multi-Link機能を利用する動作設定がなされていない場合は、単なるマルチバンドをサポートするアクセスポイントとして動作すればよい。
 また、Multi-Link機能を利用する動作設定がなされている場合において、Multi-Link通信で利用するネットワークをユーザに選択させるように構成することもできる。この場合、ユーザは表示アイテム902を操作することで、Multi-Link通信の確立を許容するネットワークを指定することができる。UI部302は、903に対する変更操作を検知した後にOKボタンが押下された場合、対応する動作設定を記憶部201に記憶する。AP MLD101は、当該動作設定に基づき、Multi-Link Setup処理において通知するリンク情報を異ならせる。例えば、Affiliated AP1及びAffiliated AP2に対応するネットワークが指定された場合、AP MLD101は、Affiliated AP1~2のみがMulti-Link接続を確立できる通信リンクとして取り扱う。
 (変形例6)
 AP MLD101は、出力部205としてステータスを示すカラーLED(Light Emitting Diode)などを有するように構成してもよい。この場合、AP MLD101は、Power Saving Stateで動作する場合と、Active Stateで動作する場合とで、当該カラーLEDの表示様態を異ならせてもよい。Active Stateで動作する場合、緑や白等を常時点灯表示すればよい。また、Power Saving Stateで動作する場合、オレンジで常時点灯表示したり、点滅表示等をしたりすればよい。
 (その他の実施形態)
 本発明は、上述の実施形態の1以上の機能を実現するプログラムを、ネットワーク又は記憶媒体を介してシステム又は装置に供給し、そのシステム又は装置のコンピュータにおける1つ以上のプロセッサがプログラムを読出し実行する処理でも実現可能である。また、1以上の機能を実現する回路(例えば、ASIC)によっても実現可能である。
 本発明は上記実施の形態に制限されるものではなく、本発明の精神及び範囲から離脱することなく、様々な変更及び変形が可能である。従って、本発明の範囲を公にするために、以下の請求項を添付する。

Claims (11)

  1.  第1のBSSID(Basic Service Set Identifier)で識別される第1のネットワーク及び、第2のBSSIDで識別される第2のネットワークを外部装置に対して提供する通信装置であって、
     前記通信装置が所定のパワーセービングメカニズムを利用する場合であって、かつ、前記通信装置が他の1つの通信装置とMulti-Link通信を行うMulti-Link Device(MLD)として機能する場合、前記通信装置が前記第1のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上で前記第1のBSSIDを含むBeaconフレームを送信するが、前記通信装置が前記第2のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上では前記第2のBSSIDを含むBeaconフレームを送信しないよう制御する通信制御手段を有することを特徴とする通信装置。
  2.  前記通信装置はアクセスポイント装置であり、
     前記所定のパワーセービングメカニズムでは、動作ステートとして第1ステートと、前記第1ステートと比較して消費電力が少ない第2ステートを有しており、
     前記通信制御手段は、前記第2ステートでアクセスポイント装置が動作する場合であっても、前記第1のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上で前記第1のBSSIDを含むBeaconフレームを送信することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の通信装置。
  3.  前記通信制御手段は、前記通信装置が前記第2のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上では、Beaconフレームに加えて、Probe Responseフレーム及び又はAssociation Responseフレームも送信しないよう制御することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の通信装置。
  4.  前記第2ステートは、Multi-Link通信に用いることができる複数のAffiliated APのうちの一部のAffiliated APをdoze状態で動作させるステートであり、
     前記通信制御手段は、更に、前記一部のAffiliated APがawake状態になる期間及び又はdoze状態になる期間を通知するフレームを前記通信装置が前記第1のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上で送信することを特徴とする請求項2又は3に記載の通信装置。
  5.  前記通信装置が所定のパワーセービングメカニズムを利用する場合において、Beaconフレームを送信すべきネットワークを選択する選択手段をさらに有し、
     前記選択手段で選択されたネットワークが前記第1のネットワークであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の通信装置。
  6.  前記選択手段は、設定画面を介してなされたユーザ操作に基づいてBeaconフレームを送信すべきネットワークを選択することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の通信装置。
  7.  前記Beaconフレームは、タイプフィールドに対して00が設定され、サブタイプフィールドに対して1000が指定されたMAC(Medium Access Control)フレームであることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の通信装置。
  8.  前記通信制御手段は、IEEE802.11bn規格をサポートしないステーション装置がデコードできないタイプのフレームであって、前記通信装置の存在に関する情報を外部に通知するフレームについては、前記通信装置が前記第2のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上においても送信するよう制御することを特徴とする請求項7に記載の通信装置。
  9.  第1のBSSID(Basic Service Set Identifier)で識別される第1のネットワーク及び、第2のBSSIDで識別される第2のネットワークを外部装置に対して提供する通信装置であって、
     前記通信装置が所定のパワーセービングメカニズムを利用する場合であって、かつ、前記通信装置が他の1つの通信装置とMulti-Link通信を行うMulti-Link Device(MLD)として機能する場合、前記通信装置が前記第1のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上で前記第1のBSSIDを含むBeaconフレームを含むnon-HT PPDU形式の無線フレームを送信し、前記通信装置が前記第2のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上では前記第2のBSSIDを含むBeaconフレームを含むUHR PPDU形式の無線フレームを送信するよう制御する通信制御手段を有することを特徴とする通信装置。
  10.  第1のBSSIDで識別される第1のネットワーク及び、第2のBSSIDで識別される第2のネットワークを外部装置に対して提供する通信装置の制御方法であって、
     前記通信装置が所定のパワーセービングメカニズムを利用する場合であって、かつ、前記通信装置が他の1つの通信装置とMulti-Link通信を行うMulti-Link Device(MLD)として機能する場合、前記通信装置が前記第1のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上で前記第1のBSSIDを含むBeaconフレームを送信するが、前記通信装置が前記第2のネットワークを提供しているチャネル上では前記第2のBSSIDを含むBeaconフレームを送信しないよう制御する通信制御工程と、を有することを特徴とする制御方法。
  11.  請求項10に記載の通信装置の制御方法をコンピュータに実行させるためのプログラム。
