- the level of purification includes protection against air pollutants, air borne bacteria, air borne pathogens and viruses using a combination of carbon filters, HEPA/MERV filters and germicide UV-C Lamp.
- Each PAPR users are provided with a heart rate monitor that communicates wireless with a controller.
- a user also has the option of heating or cooling the air in their helmet to a preset temperature.
- a user may also preset the air flow rate as result of the CPU monitoring an air flow rate sensor that sends data to the CPU to control fan speed.
- the device can provide a user with 360 degrees of purified UV-C germicide ventilated air around the face and head area without having to wear a physical face covering.
- the PPE can provide an individual who infected with a contagious disease protection without a face shield. This is a result of the helmet shield using fan to vacuum up any contaminated air into the helmet and then re-filtering the air with filters and UV-C germicide Lamp before blowing the air into the surrounding environment.
- the device has eight major components.
- the helmet has a vacuum fan in the top of the helmet with a carbon and HEPA/MERV filter and UVC Lamp.
- a detachable face shield makes an airtight seal with the helmet.
- wo breathing tubes connect the collar duct and air filter box together.
- the collar duct attaches to the helmet or operate independently to provide an individual with 360 degrees cleaned ventilated air that has been germicide with UVC light.
- the collar unit has an air-tight mechanical connection to the collar seal.
- the collar seal 44 makes an airtight connection to the bottom of the collar unit and is designed to keep contaminated ambient air from entering the collar area.
- the collar unit has Velcro straps for holding down the collar unit in the front and back.
- the air filter box straps to a user waist and utilizes two electric fans to pull ambient air through filters that remove pollutants, air borne bacteria air borne pathogens and viruses. The air then passes across a germicide UVC lamp which further deactivates viruses and bacteria.
- the pressurize air passes thru an air flow sensor at the exit port of the air box before exiting through two air hoses connected to the collar unit and helmet.
- a heart rate monitor is worn by a user like a watch and transmits data back to the CPU controller to cause it to adjust fan speed and air pressure based on a user’s heart rate.
- the main power source is a rechargeable battery that can be charge via an AC power adapter, solar charger or via a vehicle cigarette lighter adapter. The battery is held in a waist worn fanny pack.
- the device can be configured to provide three levels of protection against air pollutants, air borne bacteria, air borne pathogens and viruses.
- This first level of PPE protection consists of an individual just wearing the collar unit with air hoses connected to the air box.
- Level 1 provides an individual who is not infected with a contagious disease 360 degrees of filtered and UV-C germicide ventilated air against the above- mentioned items without having to wear a physical face covering.
- Level 1 also has front and rear proximity sensors which allow a user to preset a social distance which will turn the device on or off if an object is detected at the preset distance.
- there is two LED lights on the collar unit to providing lighting in dark areas.
- Level 2 PPE protection requires an individual to attach the helmet without a face shield to the collar unit. With the vacuum fan on in the helmet, any contaminated air inside of the helmet will be vacuum into helmet’s filters and pass across a germicide UVC lamp before exiting into the surrounding environment. Level 2 is designed to protect an individual against the above-mentioned protection items even if the individual is infected with a contagious disease but without needing to wear a physical face covering. Level 3 provides both PAPR and PPE as result of attaching an air-tight face shield to the helmet. In the PAPR mode all major components are connected as a respirator system where the air flow rate and air pressure are regulated by a CPU controller that receives a user’s heart rate data from a heart rate monitor worn by the user. The CPU after receiving a user’ s heart rate data adjust air flow to the desired air pressure by adjusting fan speeds. In PAPR mode an individual can preset the temperature in the helmet using the smartphone to turn on the air heater or Peltier cooler.
- the best mode of configuration for PPE is for an individual to just wear the collar unit to obtain 360 degrees of ventilated clean around their neck and shoulder areas.
- the PAPR mode is best for individuals working in high viral load environments or areas requiring maximum protection, e.g., hospitals, industrial areas, laboratories, military facilities and or hazardous environments. (H) (Brief Description of Drawings
