Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrically operated flap system with weather protection for electrically charging and/or refueling a vehicle.
- the invention further relates to a method for electrically charging and/or refueling a vehicle with an electrically operated flap system, as well as to a vehicle.
- the invention is particularly suitable for use in electrically powered vehicles in which an external electrical energy source, such as a charging station, is connected to the vehicle in order to charge it with electricity as an energy carrier, which is stored in an electrical storage device of the vehicle.
- an external electrical energy source such as a charging station
- the invention can also be used in vehicles with combustion engines, where, for example, fuel is supplied to the vehicle as an energy source at a gas station.
- the invention can also be used for hybrid vehicles, where an external energy source is connected to the vehicle in order to charge or refuel it with electrical energy and/or fuel.
- Such flap systems are also referred to as tank or charging flap systems. They usually have a pivoting cover flap or closure flap that is opened to fill the vehicle with an energy source such as electricity or with another type of fuel to drive the vehicle engine, and is closed again after filling. When closed, the cover flap protects a connection element behind it that is used, for example, to connect a charging plug from an electric charging station and/or a fuel line from a fuel pump to it.
- the connection element can be, for example, a charging socket that is located in a holding element or charging pot or charging recess of the flap system. is held.
- connection element or the charging socket and the charging recess are not protected from the weather when the cover is open. Rain, moisture, snow and leaves can therefore get to the connection element or the charging socket and into the charging recess when charging or refueling the vehicle. Especially in winter, snow can collect in the charging recess when charging the vehicle and cover the connection element and a charging plug connected to it.
- charging systems country variants, positions in the charging pot, variants of charging plugs or filling openings for petrol or diesel and fuel pump nozzles.
- the object of the invention is to create a flap system or tank flap system which, when charging or refueling the vehicle, also offers weather protection for the connection element with different charging systems and in particular protects the charging socket and the charging recess or also a fuel filler opening from the effects of the weather.
- the invention provides an electrically operated flap system with weather protection for electrically charging and/or refueling a vehicle, in particular an electric vehicle, comprising a connection element for connecting a connection part of a charging and/or refueling station to the vehicle, a pivotable cover flap to cover the connection element in a closed position and to release it in an open position in order to connect the connection part to it; an electric motor coupled to the cover flap via a hinge arm for driving the cover flap; a control device for controlling the electric motor in order to move the cover flap in the closing direction and in the opening direction; and an obstacle detection device to determine when the cover flap and/or the hinge arm moves against the connected connection part during its movement in the closing direction and is thereby prevented from moving further in the closing direction; wherein the control device is designed in such a way that it Detection of the obstruction of further movement by the connecting part causes a counter movement of the cover flap in the opening direction until the cover flap assumes a protective position which lies between the position it reached up to the connecting part and the opening position
- the invention ensures the best possible weather protection regardless of different country variants, charging systems, charging plugs or fuel pumps. This is made possible in particular by the fact that no fixed or stored position of the cover flap is required when charging or refueling.
- control device is designed such that it causes the movement of the cover flap in the closing direction at a reduced travel speed.
- control device is designed such that it causes the movement of the cover flap in the closing direction with a reduced drive torque.
- control device is designed such that it causes the counter movement of the cover flap in the opening direction by a predefined amount.
- the obstacle detection device is designed to detect an increase in the torque of the electric motor.
- control device is designed in such a way that, when an authenticated user approaches, it causes the cover flap to move from the protective position to the open position.
- the flap system comprises a sensor element which is used to detect a manual actuation of the cover flap and/or the execution of a gesture designed to cause the cover flap to move from the protective position to the open position.
- a method for electrically charging and/or refueling a vehicle with an electrically operated flap system which is fastened in a body element of the vehicle, wherein the flap system comprises a connection element for connecting a connection part of a charging and/or refueling station and a pivotable cover flap connected to a hinge arm for covering the connection element in a closed position and for releasing the connection element in an open position, and wherein the method comprises the following steps:
- the cover flap is moved by a predefined amount from the position reached up to the connecting part in the opening direction in order to reach the protective position.
- the cover flap is automatically moved from the protective position to the open position when an authenticated user approaches.
- a manual actuation of the cover flap and/or the hinge arm and/or the execution of a gesture is detected, which triggers the movement of the cover flap from the protective position to the open position.
- a vehicle in particular an electric vehicle, which comprises a flap system according to the invention.
- Figure 1 shows a flap system according to a preferred embodiment of the invention in a side view, with a connected charging plug, wherein the cover flap is in a protective position to protect against the effects of the weather when the vehicle is being electrically charged;
- Figure 2 shows the flap system shown in Figure 1 in a closed state
- FIG 3 shows a flap system according to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, which is designed as a tank flap system, in the closed state
- Figure 4 shows the flap system shown in Figures 1 to 3 with the flap fully opened;
- Figure 5 shows the flap system shown in Figures 1 to 3 in a state in which the flap is moved from above against the charging plug or against the fuel nozzle;
- Figure 6 shows the flap system shown in Figures 1 to 3 in its protective position while it is manually operated in a first manner to initiate the opening process
- Figure 7 shows the flap system shown in Figures 1 to 3 in its protective position, while it is manually operated in a second manner to initiate the opening process.
- FIGS 1 and 2 show an electrically operated flap system 10 according to a first preferred embodiment of the invention, which is designed as a charging flap system.
- Fig. 1 shows the flap system 10 with a connecting part 11 connected to it in the form of a charging plug during a charging process, while Fig. 2 shows the flap system 10 in the closed state.
- the charging plug 11 is connected to an external electrical charging station (not shown in the figure) via a charging cable 12.
- the flap system 10 comprises a connection element 13, which in this embodiment is designed as a charging socket and is used to connect the charging plug 11 which forms a connecting part.
- a pivotable cover flap in the form of a charging flap 14 is provided to cover the charging socket or the connection element 13 in a closed position and to release it in an open position so that the connection part or the charging plug 11 can be connected to the connection element or the charging socket 13.
- the cover flap 14 is shown in a partially opened state in which it forms a weather protection for the charging plug 11 and the charging socket 13 located underneath, ie assumes a protective position.
- the cover flap 14 is coupled via a movable or pivotable hinge arm 99 to an electric motor 15, which is designed to drive the cover flap 14 in order to move it back and forth between its open position (see Fig. 4) and its closed position (see Fig. 2). In the closed position, the charging socket 13 is completely covered by the cover flap 14 and is closed to the outside.
- the hinge arm 99 is designed as a receiving plate to attach the flap 14 thereto.
- a control device 16 serves to control the electric motor 15 in order to move the cover flap 14 in the closing direction S and in the opening direction 0.
- the hinge arm 99 can form a counter surface for the obstacle.
- the obstacle detection device is designed such that it uses a torque sensor to detect an increase in the torque of the electric motor 15 when the cover flap 14 is moved in the closing direction S. As soon as an increase in the torque and thus an obstacle is detected, the closing process is terminated and the counter movement in the opening direction 0 is initiated by the control device 16.
- control device 16 is designed in such a way that, due to the detection of the obstacle, it causes a counter movement of the cover flap 14 in the opening direction O, which is directed opposite to the closing direction S, until the cover flap 14 assumes a protective position which lies between the position it reached up to the obstacle and the opening position. As soon as the cover flap 14 assumes its protective position, it forms a weather protection when loading the vehicle (see Figure 1).
- the charging socket 13 is connected to the body of the vehicle and is not shown in more detail in the figures.
- the holding element or the charging pot 17 is fastened in a body element 18 of the vehicle, which forms the outer skin of the vehicle.
- the fastening is formed by clipping.
- the control device 16 is designed in particular such that the cover flap 14 is controlled at a reduced travel speed and reduced drive torque during the closing process, i.e. during its movement in the closing direction S.
- the flap system 10 will carry out the closing process with a process profile requested for this purpose until the cover flap 14 moves against the existing obstacle, which is formed when the vehicle is being charged by the charging plug 11 inserted in the connection element 13, or in the case of a tank flap system by a fuel pump or the like.
- a charging stop button 21 is provided on the charging socket 13 and is accessible from the outside when the cover flap 14 is open.
- the charging stop button 21 causes the charging process to be terminated when it is pressed by a user.
- FIG. 3 shows a flap system 40 according to a second preferred embodiment of the invention in the closed state.
- the flap system 40 is designed as a tank flap system that serves to supply fuel, such as gasoline or diesel, to a vehicle.
- a filling device 43 is formed as the connection element, which comprises a filling opening 44 which is designed to receive or connect a connecting part 11 in the form of a fuel outlet line, in particular a fuel nozzle.
- the filling device 43 is connected to a fuel tank inside the vehicle via a fuel line 45.
- the cover flap 14 is formed by a tank flap.
- the holding element 17 is designed as a pot or a trough which encloses the connection element 43, wherein the holding element 17 is fastened to the outer skin 18, preferably by clipping.
- An opening request recognition device 46 is designed to recognize a user's desire to open the fuel filler flap 14, for example by means of a signal, a gesture, or the like, and then to cause the fuel filler flap 14 to open.
- tank flap system 40 is designed like the previously described loading flap system 10 according to the first preferred embodiment, to which express reference is made here in order to avoid repetition.
- a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention is described below.
- the method can be carried out in the same way with both the charging flap system 10 and the tank flap system 40.
- the figures to which reference is made to describe the method relate to both types of flap systems.
- the cover flap or flap 14 is first opened completely with the help of the motor 15.
- the pivotable cover flap 14 or the hinge arm 99 of the flap system 10, 40 connected to it is moved by the electric motor 15 from its closed position in the opening direction O until the cover flap 14 reaches an open position (see Fig. 4).
- a connecting part 11 in particular a charging plug or a fuel nozzle, is connected or plugged into the charging socket 13 or the filling device 43, as shown in Fig. 4.
- the flap 14 is moved into a variable closing position upon a corresponding request.
- the control device 16 which is designed as a function master, issues a movement command to the variable closing position.
- the cover flap 14 or the hinge arm 99 connected thereto is first moved in the closing direction S by the electric motor 15 until the obstacle detection device determines that the cover flap 14 and/or the hinge arm 99 has moved against the connected connecting part 11 (see Fig. 5).
- the movement of the cover flap 14 in the closing direction S initiated by the control device 16 takes place with a reduced drive torque and with a reduced travel speed.
- the obstacle is detected by the increase in the torque on the motor 15 when the obstacle is reached, which is formed by the connected charging plug or the fuel nozzle. The motor then stops the movement.
- the cover flap 14 is again moved in the opening direction 0 until it assumes a protective position which lies between the position it reached up to the obstacle 11 and the opening position.
- a short reversion is carried out by the flap system 10 or 40 in the open direction or in the opening direction 0, i.e. the flap 14 or the hinge arm 99 moves away from the charging plug again and forms a small distance from it.
- the control device 16 causes the counter movement of the cover flap 14 in the opening direction 0 by a predefined amount or reversing angle.
- This preset angle can be, for example, 3 to 40 degrees. In particular, an opening angle of approx. 10 to 15 degrees is preferred.
- the counter movement of the cover flap in the opening direction O can also be initiated by a variable reversing angle, which is determined by a detected depends on obstacle position.
- the flap 14 or the hinge arm 99 is now in the variable closing position, which depends on the shape of the charging plug 11 or the fuel nozzle used (see Fig. 1).
- the flap 14 In the variable closing position, the flap 14 is in a protective position in which it optimally covers the connected connection part 11 and thus protects it from rain, snow, hail, falling leaves and the like.
- the flap 14 forms weather protection both for the connection element, i.e. for the charging socket 13 or the filling device 43, and for the connecting part 11 when charging and/or refueling the vehicle.
- the vehicle is now charged and/or refueled while the cover flap 14 is in the protective position.
- the approach of a vehicle user with valid authentication to the vehicle is detected, for example.
- the function master or the control unit 16 then issues a movement command that causes the flap 14 to open using the electric motor 15 (see Fig. 4). Once the opening position has been reached, the charging plug 11 or the fuel nozzle can be pulled out of the flap system 10, 40 and separated from it.
- the flap 14 then closes, for example, automatically or by pressing a corresponding button.
- an authenticated user can manually trigger the opening of the flap 14 using a tip-to-run function.
- the user reaches under the edge of the hinge arm 99 or the flap 14, which is in the protective position according to Fig. 1, and exerts a pull on the underside 19 in the opening direction 0 on the flap 14 or the hinge arm 99.
- a motion detector in the actuator or in the motor 15 detects a rotary movement of the pivotable flap 14 about its pivot or rotation axis 23 caused by the exerted pull.
- the flap 14 is then moved into the opening position or into the open position by means of the tip-to-run function, as shown in Fig. 4, in order to be able to remove the charging plug 11 or the fuel nozzle 11.
- the flap system 10 or 40 can also be opened from the variable closing position by activating an optional sensor 22, which is designed in particular as a touch sensor.
- the sensor 22 is preferably arranged on the underside 19 of the flap 14, i.e. on its inside or rear side.
- the vehicle is first woken up when a user with valid authentication approaches the vehicle.
- the flap 14 is touched at a sensitive position in the area of the sensor 22, for example by tapping or touching it, the sensor 22 sends an opening request signal to the function master or to the control unit 16, which causes the motor 15 to move the flap 14 in the opening direction 0 until the flap 14 is completely open.
- the charging plug 11 or the fuel nozzle 11 can then be removed (see Fig. 2).
- the sensor 22 can be designed to detect a manual actuation of the cover flap 14 and/or to detect the execution of a gesture.
